The simplest changes for me would be -
Increase in Wounds for Treelords/Ancients/Durthu/Alarielle. I'd be bold here - lots of wounds but intense deterioration. The faction should encourage and facilitate healing.
Alarielle should lose the summon and become more about enhancing the units around here. I wouldn't mean an FNP bubble. Maybe she has throne of vines automatically if she didn't move in the previous phase?
2 cast TLA.
These may require points change - so be it.

The Twinsoul heads are kind of growing on me. I can see the intent, the broadening and smoothing out of the face making something quite inhuman. It doesn't always land but even where it's funny looking, like this dude, it has a certain creepy, sweaty, giggling, psychopathic charm. Looks like someone who'd cut himself while staring at you, grinning, before going for the kill.
Is that tri-blade also functioning as a mirror?!

So I am seeing a lot of kneejerk reactions to the new rules for SCE, and the idea of blocks of liberators blocking people in their deployment through the patrol battalion. This seems... excessive? While I don't deny that the new rules are good (I am painting some dusty liberators right now), the only difference with what you could *already* do is the shield of civilisation. What I mean is: you could already drop 2x30 liberators 5" from the opponent with Slayers or Gav Bomb 30 of them, which is in fact more flexible than the patrol battalion. Does the +1 to save (cause even with +1 to hit the damage is lackluster for the investment) justify these reactions? Am I missing something?
I think you make a fair observation. Liberators were already underrated on the cheapness of their durability.

We are going to get a book next summer, along with new models so asking for warscroll changes is less important imo

Lord Castellant at 90 is crazy!
For me, aggressive pushes on Paladin units.

Hey guys, i'm currently building an army centered arround a Tauralon, my list is the following:
Tauralon: staunch defender/staff of focus/everblaze comet
Knight Heraldor
Lord castellant
15 sequitors
5 libs
5libs
4 concussors
2x3 aetherwings
6 raptors longstrike
Lots of drops here but our batallions are ****** anyway, here's the strat.
Tauralon is the big fast support piece, ideally i'd like to cast the comet early and drop it arround the support heroes of my opponent then finish them with the raptors using scion of the storm.
Staff of focus helps me to get some breakpoints easier and having at least 2MW for each piece under the 10" radius is key here.
Castellant will shine his lantern on the sequitors or concussors depending of how aggressive i want to go.
If i play defensively i'll keep the concussors out of reach and boost sequitor's armor to shield the army core and get the sweet 2+ reroll with lantern and staunch/cover.
Dracoth combo quite well with the tauralon i believe, the sweet +1 to hit when tauralon fly over a unit is really helpful on their breath attack and the lord arcanum ability to save seomeone by negating a crucial wound is really helpful on such solid models (you can easily have a 2+ rerolling 1's or even more if you combine the right bonuses ).
lastly i like to get some aetherwings on my side to cap points early and/or play the sacrifice units and libs will stay in the sky to make them drop where i need them, either to fill a gap in the frontline or to get objectives early if i really need to iinstead of aetherwings.
I'll probably suffer with that kind of list against a heavy shooting army and i'm really vulnerable to MW myself but what do you think of this?I don't think it is a bad list at all, and could potentially work nicely with the new Broken Realms rules (and potentially use one of the battalions).
One thing to note is that the staff of focus doesn't work with the comet (I think that's what you were suggesting)

Varanguard in Host of the Everchosen are brutal.
-
Chaos Knights are very nice. I don't rate them so much offensively (too swingy with lances, unless pumped up with buffs) but the amount of high quality wounds you get with decent movement is wonderful.

I haven't quite finished it yet, but I am incredibly impressed with this book. It really nails the kind of meaningful narrative I want to see in the game. After Wrath was a bit flat, this has impressed me.

I can't tell if serious.
Slaved of Weakness needed a major overhaul right after the book came out
They definitely don't. They are far from perfect, but a wide array of lists have performed well in tournaments. Including most, if not all, of the sub-allegiances. I know you have your personal problems, but it is a solid and varied book.

“Much like Psychic Awakening, boons granted to armies are very uneven with Stormcast Eternals and Daughters of Khaine getting huge overhauls to their army while Idoneth and Cities of Sigmar got so-so boons. Slaves to Darkness got absolutely clowned on here”
100% with goonhammer
Neither cities nor slaves needed a huge overhaul. They got more options. Stormcast needed it badly, and parts of deepkin did too.

There's some info on the new legion here - https://spruesandbrews.com/2020/11/07/broken-realms-morathi-review-warhammer-age-of-sigmar-spoilers/ . Looks more interesting than I expected....

An across the board increase in wounds for Alarielle/Treelords would go a long way. The whole schtick of Sylvaneth is healing and regrowth, but we don't have enough wounds to do it. I'm fine with having severe deterioration, but with 16 wounds (for example), Durthu has some chance of surviving to be able to recover.

Can I use the Varanguard as heroes (knights of the empty throne) in a Hedonite List?
No, they can only be heroes in a list with the sub-allegiance Knight of the Empty Thrones, which is from Slaves to Darkness. They can be slaaneshi though.

Anything Stormcast, Most Mortal Khorne units
But to me the biggest disappointment is the Celestant Prime. In the novels he is such a bad a** and he looks so cool But so terrible for his point value
No way
The Celestant Prime is the best depiction of Stormcast in the game. He strikes from the skies in a flurry of lightning, leaving destruction in his wake and before you know it, he's gone again, delivering Sigmar's justice on another battlefield.
The rest of Stormcast, sure, no argument. But hte Prime is worth his points and super fun and thematic.

Honestly that is one of those lists that just looks unpleasant to play with and against. I suspect in most cases results will be determined based on lists as much as anything. Dull, dull ,dull.

I'm a bit baffled by this. Are you saying that the player who wants AoS Reminders-style info on your army should print out their own reminder sheets for every other army at the tournament, on the off-chance they get matched up against them? "Bringing it yourself" doesn't seem at all practical.
Just printing off two copies of your own AoS Reminders sheet and handing one to your opponent seems way more reasonable.
I don't think it should be the expectation that you do this (also, bad for the environment!).
Most people don't tend to want to know every detail, more like top level highlights and then ask for relevant info when it is relevant (eg. what is your maximum threat range)

My Durthu got shot turn one by 18 lumineth sentinels yesterday. Any tips fighting such a heavy shooting, heavy magic and high mobility army?
Wyldwoods? Starting in reserve?

I just don't think there's enough value in the woods at all. Placement of them is hard, the benefits are limited and situational. Plus the cost to actually get them can be high.
Dreadwood gives you much better mobility, as do tree-revenants. I just think it does it better.

You do get Aura of Chaos, since the Varanguard in Knights of the Empty Throne are heroes with a chaos mark. However, Eye of the Gods is a keyword specific to some of your hero units; the Varanguard do not gain this keyword so they can't use that ability.
Yeah, they don't have the eye of the gods keyword (smart - it could be ridiculous!). Archaon and Daemon Princes similarly don't have that keyword. However, other characters in a KOET list would.
KOET varanguard giving out the aura of chaos is really strong as it gives them a lot of range due to their bases.

You all can wish all you want but stormcast will be in the next starter.

The Audio Drama is up for Pre Order on the 10th but the Sons themselves could come before.
They could, but do you really think they wouldn't synchronise the two?

Oh me too mate!! I loved the Skaven side of the story in Spear of Shadows. For your sake and other Skaven lovers I do hope they start to get some love soon, at least in the form of some model updates.
You may have hit the nail on the head with this one. First week Sons next week Marines then Warcry and Necrons to round out the month.
Sons release 17th Oct...
