  1. Really good observations, @JP1. The Envoys change is brilliant AND fluffy - the commands are going out via the roots. I love it. Fingers crossed we get some more command ability options.

They are changing everything to reroll save rolls FYI and have been since BoC. Sam (bottle) said so in one of the Stormcasts.

Not that strange, as the Farstriders have the Hammers of Sigmar keyword, the Chosen Axes have the Vostarg keyword, etc. GW is much more willing to tie Underworlds warbands to specific groups in the lore, much like they do with named heroes.

Exactly. But I think it has confused people in their new book speculation.

The Stormcast BT does have keywords for smaller groups or factions in their list. "Redeemer" units can receive buffs from specific characters and battalions. My thought is that we'll get keywords for the main army themes (Oakenbrow, Harvestboon, etc) and keywords for the groups of Sylvaneth in their society (Free Spirits, Tree Folk, the Household, etc).  Ideally it means we'll get some cool stuff spread across more armies, but I do think the Stormcast BT is a little bland re: things like Stormhosts and battalions. Now I haven't read the Fyreslayers tome so it might be an idle worry, but I do like how varied the Sylvaneth can be right now. Hope we don't lose that.

This is exactly right. Free Spirits/Thornwych etc will be the equivalent of moonclan/squigs/spiderclan and then we'll have the overarching 'Stormhosts', of which we already know of Oakenbrow.

People seem to have been thrown by Ylthari, who is part of a dedicated 'Stormhost'.

I guess we either trust in the whole warscroll or none of it.

It weren't the skills that needed boost but stats. What good comes from them moving around tge battlefield if they are close to useless in combat? Poor save, 1 wound, 4 to hit. I don't buy their function as moving walls. They should be a commando unit. Fragile but deadly. If they weren't needed for Gnarlwood I would never take them for the fight.

They've always been brilliant for objective play (threatening back objectives). Their capacity for this has been reduced in some ways (if Wyldwood goes they are less able to stay safe) and improved with the greater teleporting capacity.

I do however agree that they should have been given a role like that. Spites are much worse though.

If this is all they had corrected about Tree-Revenants then epic fail GW. Unit that dies first, kills nothing. Who writes these rules? Cleaning ladies at GW? It was the only unit that really needed help in Sylvaneth forces. Beyond disappointment.

I am concerned about the revenants, but no need to get negative before anything has even been revealed...

We already know waypipes are better.

I don't know why but your username makes me laugh alongside your outlook on Wyldwoods.

Haha, when I hate them you know they are bad.

They stopped me playing with my beloved Sylvaneth. They are such a pain.

    1. You guys are spending a lot of time speculating rules that haven't even been detailed yet.

    2. The wyldwood models are still useable terrain models. They aren't wasted in that sense.

(I wholeheartedly support getting rid of wyldwoods - they are a nightmare)

If you only consider their offense, sure.

Kurnoths pay for their defense, range, and ability to teleport as much as their raw damage output offense.

Bow hunters wouldn't be worth it at 200. Because what gives them all that teleporting also blocks LOS. Being fairly difficult to kill is of limited value when you only have 3 models and low damage output.

Of course, if(rumours say they will) the wyldwood is different then things change drastically...

Or they left point for the price hike of Kurnoth Hunters. Some say they have 3 shots now instead of 2. This ain't that visible or readable on the scroll shown in Looncurse reveal article.

Even at 3 shots 200 points is a steep price (of course there will be likely be many new factors to consider in the new book).

Sorry but this is just wildly unrealistic.  Kill Team had zero new models, and that game is both fun, and popular.  Quite frankly, I think we players are fortunate enough that GW is giving AoS factions rules alone.

    It did have new models!

It had the Kelemorph, the Ad Mech character, the Starstriders and the Gellerpox.

(I do agree with your principle not to expect any new models for preexisting factions)
