I find most of the faction dice a nice collector peice but not something g I'd want to actually use. Especially when you can literally 100s of perfectly good dice of Amazon for the same price.

Generally agree. I don't really love most of them, they're not impossible to read but they're more effort than necessary. Maybe a nice collector's item if you want to really collect everything available to a faction, but considering the price and the design not something to practically use

The Warscroll Builder isn't anything close to an accurate representation of the rules. There isn't even a validity check that the Azyr app has. Sounds comical to me.

I've run into way more bugs on the Azyr app than I have on the Warscroll builder personally.

I meant gaming books. You don't see a lot of FAQs and errata coming out of RPG publishing -- unless I'm really missing something.

I know DnD 5e and Pathfinder (well, not 2nd edition quite yet) both have errata. I think a slight difference there is that a lot of those books, especially the core books, go through multiple printings and they do tend to update between them.

That's true -- because the industry is too cheap to design and edit their games properly.

I was talking more from a book publishing perspective, which is admittedly different. To my mind, errata are a sign of editorial and design failure. FAQs are okay for clarification purposes only, not for changing an actual rule wholesale.

I guess it depends on what types of books we're talking about. If we're talking about normal books, well they generally don't have to worry about game design so that's an issue inherent to gaming so there should be different standards there.

To me it seems like board games are more akin to video games than they are to actual books, in terms of being designed. And like video games, generally things get patched because the rules can be complex and some interactions are going to be missed, clarifications are going to be necessary, etc.

That doesn't necessarily mean you're wrong that errata are, well, errors that should be avoided. But IMO it seems that with how widespread the practice is, it seems to be the industry standard rather than the outlier.

GW just needs to meet the general industry publishing standard.

If Battletomes and Warscroll cards didn't cost a small fortune, it would be different.

Isn't posting errata/FAQs kind of an industry standard? Plenty of board games I play have errata and FAQs, RPGs do, etc. Runewars Miniatures did too (that did die, but I don't think it died because its rules needed errata)

Interesting. I assume this is a reliable source? Someone recently showed off the Australian prices and it looked like the boxes were going to go for $230. Perhaps they saw how upset people were about the 230 and decided to notch it down a tad.

The AUS prices indicate lower than $230 (Blood of the Phoenix is $230 USD, but $390 AUS, while Tithe is $320 AUS).

I've also seen $195, assuming the person I heard it from is different from the quoted source lol

I expect DoK, Nurgle, LoN and Deepkin to get new tomes next spring /summer. The old books will have been out over two years at that point and all four of the armies need rules updates.

Plus missing endless spells / scenery.

They may just let legions of nagash fade out at this point though.

Mmm probably not for a while, those tomes were made with 2.0 in mind. They don’t really seem that much in need of rules updates urgently.

    I'd suggest:

    Goretide

    Spearhead:

    5xChaos knights

    Main body:

Manticore lord, trait and artifact to make him killy

    priest, bronze flesh

10x warriors - use CP to put these dudes on objective and buff them

    5x Chaos knights

    Rearguard:

    Chariot

    50pt for a CP

I heavily recommend having a unit or two of dogs to summon because you will have little other uses for BP.

Thanks so much! Was thinking of getting Wrath and Rapture which does have some Flesh Hounds, but otherwise great list with everything I already have haha

I really don't get GW marketing. Whole week some boring stuff on the w-c and then all of a sudden they give kind of preorder preview without any introduction. We are talking here about brand new large army and two battletomes.

That's how it works. They announce the preorders, THEN start previewing.

Also, they've been posting random articles on the Bonereapers already. Last week previewed one of the units, yesterday did a lore dump.

Coming from a French facebook page from a guy who seems to be in the know (but as usual, take it with a pinch of salt), here are the content of battleforces this year :

AoS : Stormcasts, Nighthaunt, Skavens, Gloomspite

40k : Tau, Dark Eldar, Space Wolves, Blood Angels, Chaos, Tyranids

We'll see how it pans out, but it could makes sense.

Would be interesting if true. All 4 of those armies HAVE been represented in boxes in the past year or so though: Stormcast/Nighthaunt in Soul Wars, Skaven in Carrion Empires, Gloomspite in Looncurse. Of course, the latter 2 boxes went out of stock really quick, but I do sorta feel it'd be nice if they spread the love around a bit more to other factions

Hi there fellow Ossiarchs! I was just wondering, the lack of information yesterday means that the earliest we will have models available is the Halloween`s weekend correct? Next weekend we will have the announcement, one week of news and information, then they go on preorder and available the following weekend. Im sad because that will mean I wont have them for a tournament November 17th (Im not sure Ill have time to build everything, not talking painting) but I guess it makes sense to release the spookie units around that holiday.

Yep, the schedule is looking like preorder announcement on the 20th, preorder on the 26th, release on November 2

So if they go on preorder the 19. we should be seeing some teasers next week?

Yep. I believe the schedule is Sunday they say "hey next Saturday preorders open up for this cool thing" and then throughout the week they post previews, and then preorders open up Saturday.

  13. The idea of monthly campaign books could be very cool. Just started looking into Pathfinder since it recently went into its 2nd Edition and Paizo has been releasing monthly Adventure Path campaign books for years. Obviously an RPG is a bit different from tabletop miniatures, but I'd definitely be all for more frequent story releases of some kind
