Hey there! I used to have a different account on here once upon a time, but unfortunately lost my password during my hiatus from Warhammer AoS. Anyway, I'd like a new start as I'm just getting back into the game with my small collection, so here I am, representing the Sylvaneth with a Start Collecting and. Warcry box!
Welcome to the community @Green Tea, hope you enjoy your stay.

Guys I played a tts game this week end , can I split my o attacks of my bastiladont? Or im forced to focus the same unit? Thx!
You can spit the attacks mate.
"13.2 NUMBER OF ATTACKS The number of attacks you make with a weapon is equal to its Attacks characteristic. Make the attacks one at a time, unless you are making combined attacks (see 13.2.1). If a weapon has an Attacks characteristic of more than 1, you can split the attacks between target units."

I think they make far too much money from physical books to ever swap to a full digital service. I think they know that a digital service for books would be better, but (and to be fair rightfully so for a business) I think they have a too big revenue stream from physical books to stop them.

Played a game last weekend, Petrifex v LotFP on Tectonic Interference. I ran Liege (Petrifex CT + Artefact), Soulmason, Boneshaper, 30 Mortek, 20 Mortek, 2 x 5 Deathriders, Harvester, Crawler.
Managed to get a 26-21 win. LVP was the crawler - did not do a single wound all game and failed it's 8+ to snipe the bilepiper. MVP was my liege, tanked Bel'akor + Khorne DP to deny slay the warlord.
Game was close all along, opponent failed two battle tactics which was pretty pivotal to the end score as objective scoring was very close. Both grand strategies scored, with the new FAQ everything was very clear in regards to wards, shrugging off wounds, etc.
Very good game, game was ultimately decided by battle tactics & objective scoring, with the points difference mainly coming from two failed battle tactics. AoS 3 feels in a very good place right now.

Will look to get Arkhan in the list, unsure whether to replace crawler or harvester but thinking most likely harvester. I like the threat of the one shot to keep coherency honest & have some ranged presence. Will drop Boneshaper & Crawler to slot Arkhan in.

Question, I see a lot of Hosts Arcanum lists with two spells per wizard, am I being blind as I can't see that in the allegiance abilities that allows your wizards to choose two from the lore rather then one?

Does a ward save work on both wound and mortal wounds?
Let's say I had a 5+ FnP against MW, now it's a ward save. Will it work on wounds, as "ward save" affects both?If it specifically says mortal wounds, I believe it stays for only mortal wounds.

They clarified Wards to make it 100% super clearer that it was a definition that applies to all abilities that roll dice to negate wounds. Regardless of timing.
No real room for debate - if you roll a die its a ward and doesn't stack. If you don't roll a die, negate away.
They have made the old "negate a wound allocated" into ward saves, so it's simply a armour save + your best save to prevent wound or mortal wound

I'm I reading this right? Looks like they deleted the after-ward extra ward FAQ?
They have changed to say all old saves which are worded to "Negate" a wound are treated as ward, so we're back to one save + a ward save, no stacking.

Glad to hear that. It seems that It was not that hard. Btw, is there anything about leaving an skyvessel?
No change to garrison in core rules and no update on the KO FAQ, so assume no mate.

Another update today and a really good one, Wyldwoods fixed, multiple ward saved fixed, pinning a model with 2 models B2B fixed, cogs changed to 1 wizard and clarification on spell portal.- 3

Cogs now changed to only be one wizard as per new FAQ -
‘If it is decreasing the flow of time, if a player has any friendly Wizards within 6" of this endless spell in their hero phase, they can pick 1 of those Wizards to attempt to cast 1 extra spell in that hero phase.’

It's strange that there are so many universal ways to stack saves, but almost no ways (outside of niche abilities in certain tomes) to stack Rend. I suppose it's the sort of thing they can always introduce in future GHBs as the game shifts to other realms.
Well I mean having -2 rend is psuedo "stacking -2 to the opponents save roll"

Hi guys,
My question concern spells that have an area of effect measured from the base of the caster. For example, the signature spell of the Warsong Revenant or Teclis.
These spells can be cast on a spellportal and then the area of effect will be measured from the second spellportal?
I'm adding a bonus question: the bonus to casting of a warsong revenant or from a throne of vines can be added to the roll result of the signature spell of this model? (you roll dices equal to the casting roll)
Thanks
Yes to both questions

Even without the Slann, the EOTG is still an Stegadon with good-ish melee damage. I'm using one and it does perform well enough
For it's pretty bargain price being a hero, monster & now a priest honestly it's value.

Been in and out the hobby since Warhammer 5th edition.haven't played aos except for a few games before it had points.Played Warhammer from 5th until 7th when most of my armies got squatted.Played Mordeim only after that ,in fact I still play it with my kids.Quit painting as even with glasses black undercoat was hard to see.A friend suggested contrast paints and I've painted over 150 models since using them.I've lurked here for a couple of years and decided to start posting as there seems to be a lot of nice people here.I quit my old Warhammer forum site years ago during the RAW vs RAI battles as people seemed not so nice.Saw a few names on here from there so it's nice to see them still in the hobby. All in all it's nice to be back.

Good day all,
I am Imrahil and 32 years old. Hobby-wise I mainly paint and play Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game models and scratch-build scenery, but occasionally I paint Age of Sigmar models.
I came across this site/forum whilst searching for (more detailed) information about the AoS Mortal Realms and found the data cards. This interests me very much.
not sure if I will become a very active member, but I will perhaps wander around the forum for things that look interesting
Grrr, Imrahil

Hi guys, I know it may be a little far for regular visits but Harlow Games Club runs from 7-11PM on Tuesdays and we have a decent AoS scene. If that's something of interest please drop me a line.

It's interesting to me that this FAQ finally pushed a ton of TOs over the line on comping. As far as I can tell, almost everybody is ruling that we're just going to ignore GW's snafu with the ward stacking, because it's either (1) a mistake or (2) such a terrible decision that we have to wrestle responsibility back from GW, because if they really meant to do that, they have no clue how to produce a good game.
It'll be fascinating to see whether this is a one-off, or whether it's opened pandora's box and we're going to see the community comping future broken things as well if GW is either unable or unwilling to fix balance things itself.
We did get a response from one of the team on twitter who said "they were looking into it" so I am expecting a revert to this to simply allow a armour save + one other save.

That's correct, but extra save bonuses effectively negate rend.
It works like this: If you have +2 to saves, and the opponent has rend '-', when you go to determine your actual save bonus you see it's higher than +1. Since the cap is +1, that's all you get. But if you have +2 to saves and the opponent has rend -1, you add them up and are still left with a bonus of +1 to saves. Effectively, this is very nearly as good as save stacking for models on a 3+ base save, since after reacthing 2+ they are only worried about rend.
Yeah exactly as Neil said, it does the work same with hit roll modifiers as well, you can have +2 to your roll and if you were -1 to hit, you would still receive a net +1 to the hit roll. Save stacking is more apparent as rend is a very common and universal rule, so being able to negate by stacking saves with the many new ways we can do it in AoS 3 (Mystic Shield, All out Defence & Their Finest Hour) makes them 3+ base monster/heroes incredibly hard to shift which is further compounded by Heroic Recovery, as often the big names have a high bravery and are reliably healing D3 wounds every hero phase.
Painting Standards in Tabletop Games and Gatekeeping

It's a interesting topic, I do not like painting, I don't enjoy sitting down & doing and most of the time I will pick a list to take to a event to force my self to paint it. That being said I appreciate the game looks better with painted models and do paint through my unpainted models at my own pace as I want the game to be as enjoyable as possible for both parties.
What I don't like is people who make snarky comments at unpainted models, or who look down on those who don't paint all their models. I enjoy list building, playing the game & competing and I am happy to accept painting is a large part of the hobby, just not one I enjoy. If a "Hobby first" guy comes with a beautiful painted army but a terrible list I wouldn't dream of saying "Oh god your list is so bad, go build a better one, did you not have time to write a proper list" but I comments a lot of places about unpainted models, etc.
