  1. With a lot of leaks coming through, I'm blown away by just how much will be changing with the new game.

    - Command Points completely revamped, a lot more involvement with their use

    - Completely new scoring system for scenarios, moving to a system a lot more like 40k for scoring

    - Reinforcement points meaning you will see a LOT of minimum size units, and max size units will be 1 per army.

    - New board size (thought this was given).

AoS 3 is looking like to a completely new game in terms of army construction, what armies will look like on the table, how they will play with all the new CA interactions and how we play the scenarios due to new scoring.

I wasn't expecting such drastic changes, what are peoples thoughts?

Except now you’re taking stuff away and/or making one army less unique. Cities and Seraphon got ‘special’ rules for the generic Endless Spells because gw were too lazy to make unique ones for them, and now they’re giving the compensation they got to everyone else

Lets agree to disagree, I think it's a good change.

  3. I don't think GW intentionally produce under the curve books, but I do think they unintentionally make books that far above the curve which sort of pushes them into a spiral of continuing the trend. That said not every book is made on that bell curve some fall way short (Hedonites of Slaanesh is a good example).

The rules quality has always been a real mixed bag, I'm not sure if there is a disconnect within the rules team or there is a lack of communication between the rules writers or between the play testers but there certainly are books that are released that you just think "how was this said to be okay?"

So first look at new Kroak, he's lost his shrug, he's lost his 4+ CP for a 5+, he now however has more wounds, a better move, no longer access to balewind due to wound count, a flat +2 to cast all the time as well as a really swingy rule to interact with summoning.

I think he will sit at 460 points.

  5. I can see why GW is a fan, it's a very easy buy in if you own for example Ironjawz, well I could try a unit of Savage orcs.. suddenly very easy to own a Bonesplittaz army as well as a Ironjawz army.

Personally in regards do I like it or not? I don't see any disadvantage to it and in terms of list buildings the books that have done that (Cities of Sigmar, Orruk Warclans, Ogor Mawtribes, etc) for me are some of the best books to write lists from, so I suppose I'm all for it.

  6. For the record I don't own LoN, I was just confused at the situation given no formal statement from GW saying "This is intention/this is happening with this book etc". Appreciate the clarity from you all. So if someone is asking the reason is the intention is that SBGY are placing LoN, and any warscroll that was in LoN is now in SBGY (not all of them) and you need to use the most update warscrolls, found in SBGY.

    Cheers guys!
