Does anyone know a ritual to summon whitefang to your post? ...

As KO collector I will be more than happy to know that too because I'm already ready to spend 1500$ on Fyreslayers for combined duardin tome)

It feels like AoS needs something inbetween rend and MW if they are gonna keep power creeping armies.

Kinda weird that 20 swamp gobbos could chew with some buffs through like 40% of Kragnos HP with MWs.....

I think we already get ward saves (invulnerable saves from 40k) from bless?

It seems that we can still use the Spell in the Bottle and control our Predatory Endless Spell. WLV is not a Predatory Endless Spell, maybe we will have to look for other ones.

Btw, looking at the new Unit Coherency rules, maybe we are going to see more mixed-weapon units of endrinriggers? Melee Skywardens could have an slighty buff with their 2" range.

    Can't wait to see more!

I feel like reactions could be the most influential thing for us if we will consider that aether gold will not change(we will be able to use it in enemy turn to boost the effects of reactions) So right now the main question is how triumphs will change?

The latest 40k Codexes have shrunk the amount of lore in them. Seems more likely that would happen, which is going to make the issue of combined 'Tomes diluting the uniqueness of armies even worse.

    That would be a shame(

I think when they say on their own it probably means like how iron jawz can be on their own. I expect a war clans book with all 3 orruk forces with a 4 allegiance (big waagh )for mixed forces

The more I think about combined battletome the more I feel that at some point GW will need to release 2 books. 1 for lore and 1 for rules and profiles...

Given that we have another rumor engine that looks like a cultist holding a detonator, maybe we have a unit of saboteurs, one of which has a prosthetic leg from handling explosives.

Looks like something much bigger. Probably some kind of suit or heavy walker.

I'd personally gamble on Grungnids for this October, though what I'd really love is a grungnid Vs Skaven box set in the vein of Shadowspear, with completely new minis for each of the two factions, which I can't see happening before 2022

This sounds quite possible because Grungni is returning and he probably will decide to return his forge that was infested by skavens in realm of metal.

    Chaos dwarves vs Valaya dwarves!

I think that Chaos dwarfs will be connected to united duardin tome so at best we could get duardins vs chaos dwarfs box with 1-2 new units for duardins(Grombrindal model?). And later (at the end of 3ed?) duardins could actually get new faction(like Kruleboyz for warclans).

After finally being able to check everything thing out I'm so damn happy by everything I've seen!!

The new SCE are fantastic and look amazing in my opinion. Love the new Chariot and the Gryph Hounds actually looks more terrifying than cute which I love.

The Kruelboyz...incredible. Perfection. The rumours of LOTR style Orcs were spot on, they look amazing and though I didnt watch the Livestream, the hints are definitely there for Chaos Duardin.

It would be a fine time for Duardin if at the later end of 3.0 Disspossessed, Fyreslayers and Kharadron received revamps and Chaos Duardin were released.

My favourite mini shown was hands down the Troggoth rider, I love monsters and that felt very Battle of the Five Armies to me with an AOS spin.

Cannot get over the Kruelboy aesthetic, love the swampy armoured look and the lanky creepy Orruk angle is incredible I really like them.

I think that we could see combined Duardin tome this year and 3ed will be splitted like 2nd was (consequences of necroquake that lead to Broken realms), that will lead to new duardin faction (like KruleBoyz for warclans) and returning of Chaos Dwarfs (Legion of Azgoth for StD?)

100% this. It will take a United effort of all duardin-kin to make this happen and it will be awesome! There are so many ways that this could work fluff-wise: Grungni is the Maker and can barter with the mercenary KO & Fyreslayers. Grombrindal is the warrior to lead the Dispossessed “home.” I would flip for a United Duardin vs Skaven battlebox stuffed with new minis. They don’t have to stay together forever: 4.0 can see them separate again. But while everyone complains about aelves, no one offers a proper lore solution for dawi— retaking the Karak’s makes the most sense to me. Otherwise, Dispo/Ironweld fade away in CoS, while FS remain unpopular and KO doesn’t get much new stuff for a few years cuz they are near-top of the meta.

For me ideal situation will be massive campaign with 4 acts

    1) 3 armies of dwarfs descend to reclaim Grungni lost hold

    2) Ressurection of Grimnir (FS get 2-3 new boxes)

    3) Travel to shyish (KO get 2-3 new boxes)

    4) Returning of Valaya and reunion of ancestor gods (new dwarven faction based on dispossessed)

    New combined battletome.

It does give more depth to the armies, but as someone who only cares about the models and doesn't buy infantry heroes, it'll also mean I don't care about a poorly written battletome that has some flimsy excuse why the only atheist faction in all the mortal realms needs to be folded in with religious fanatics just so GW can avoid making non-elves.

The design language from KO is awesome, and the kits are inspired. For Fyreslayers, get the designer of the Blood Bowl team and just let them go off, they need facial expressions and dynamic posing even before more variety in what troops they have.

No kits will also mean no female dwarven kits. We already have awesome art and named heroes, and none of the dwarven bodies reads even remotely female. Let alone ancestor masks.

But everybody needs to lock steps and be slaves to some gods or another, it seems.

It does mean savings, because I don't care about the Ironclad if the faction gets its identity ripped out. If it doesn't get new models, it is dead.

I can understand your point and mostly agree with you but IF (hope not) combined book for dwarfs will come out I can assume that it will have option to play pure KO, pure FS and combined army with different synergy and allegiance abilities. Plus I believe that to make this type of army work we need third faction that will become something in between.

I just imagine my armies getting souped and get disappointed so I’m not a big fan of it personally. It would feel like they’ve given up on you and just chucking them together to make them feel like a bigger faction so they can focus on other stuff.

I get there can’t be constant updates for all the factions, there’s so many now (it’s honestly a bit rediculous)! But to just chuck all the dwarfs into one place and call it a day just feels like they LOVE elves and can’t be bothered with dwarfs. And that’s coming from an elf player.

You could at least hope for an army update at some point and enjoy the possibility haha. And I’m not sure why GW don’t do a unit update here and there for different factions. It is always either named characters or huge waves.

I believe that elven faction will be souped too at some point. And I can definitely see the pattern for more souping. Warclans (BS+IJ), Gllomspite(SF+Trolls+Squigs and goblins), scavens(Different clans), CoS, DoT(demons+mortals), MoN(demons+mortals), BoK(demons+mortals), HoS(demons+mortals), SGL(Bloodlines), SCE(Chambers)

If we will combine KO+FS, DoK+Umbraneth, Sylvaneth+Kurnoti and Idoneth+ Realmlords, StD+Beasmens it will give us almost 24 factions souped in some shape or form(main theme + 2-3 subfactions)

I don't know, correct me, but how do you see taking him down? Don't tell me you don't have to and chaff is enough. 10" movement is far from bad. Not having flying might hurt from time to time but most of the time he will wipe out other centerpieces or elites. No allegiance? In my opinion he doesn't need any with such a save and damage output. If somebody deserves the name of one man army it is him. It's my opinion off course and you are welcome to think otherwise.

6 drill cannons on skywardens + 3 drillcannons on gunhawlers with full reroll tohit could kill him turn 1 from 24 inches...

Honestly, a surprisingly few amount of models for these? Like what is in the skaven box?? Drycha's is very obviously 10 revenants and Drycha but I'm having a hard time seeing what is in the others

I can only assume that skaven box will contain 3 stormfiends, bombardier and doomwheel.

Beastmen box could include 6 bulls, shaman and cygor

    For slaanesh it's probably 3 fiends/slaangors plus 5 seekers

I agree with this. I hope GW doesn’t treat dwarves as less important than aelves. Just because they’re half the size, doesn’t make them any less of a person!

To be honest for some reason I feel that GW will goes to 6 factions per grand alliance (+1 big faction like CoS).

Order: SCE, Umbra+DoK, Realmlords+Deepkins, Sylv+Kurnoti, Duardins, Gholemkins, OrderOfAzyr

Chaos: Skaventide, Khorn, Nurgle, Slaanesh, Tzeench, StD(chaos beastmens could be part of God forces)

Destruction: Orruks, Gloomspite, Ogors, Gargants, New gitz, Beastmens(or silent people)

Death: Gravelords, NH, FEC, BoneReapers, +2 new factions.

This will give us 24 factions in total.

I think people are looking at the situation slighty backwards.

Currently there are 24 battletomes. Across 2nd edition there were 11 substantial (more than 3 kits) updates including 2 each for Slaanesh and Lumineth.

Gw is unlikely to substantially increase the rate they put out updates especially with the current supply situation.

If we allow one extra for covid that means third edition will have at most 12 miniature updates. Since AoS has started gw has put out about 1 all new book a year. That leaves 9 of the existing battletomes to get updates.

So essentially two thirds of the current factions will not see a substantial update this edition. That doesn't mean those armies will get nothing. We will continue to see single heroes, underworlds or warcry warbands etc.

All that is to say that a book with a radically changed format like the warclans allows gw to give new life to a faction without adding a lot of new units.

When the warclans book was being planned gw were probably already aware of the plans for third edition at least as it applies to minis. Jes Goodwin said that they start concept work for a big boxed set up to 5 years in advance. It is entirely possible that gw knew there wouldn't be an update to the Ironjawz  or Bonesplittas until third edition and so decided to do a combined book.

We would all love for every faction to get a big update but in reality that simply isn't going to happen.

If GW decides that now isn't the time for new KO or Fyreslayer kits, that's unfortunate but I think that  a book that gives new ways to play those armies both individually and in combination is a positive move.

I can agree with that but to be fair it's not only about new miniatures. Right now order have 6 elven factions: umbraneth, sylvaneth, idoneth, lumineth, kurnoti and DoK(6.3 if we will consider CoS); humans have 1: SCE (1.3 with CoS) and dwarfs have 2: KO, FS (2.3 with CoS). If GW have no plans to combine elven factions (Sylv+kurnoti, Umbra+DoK, Deepkins+Realmlords) then combining KO and FS will be totally unfair for player base of dwarven factions. If this will happens order grand alliance could be called Aelves grand alliance.

    Why not both?

Because I believe that this does not financially make any sense. FS and KO need 2nd wave and 2(or more if we will consider dispossessed and Ironwield arsenal) 2nd waves are a bit too much.

    who say they won't?

The well akchtually you can already do XYZ is such a tiresome argument. Yeah people can do allies but most players prefer one book one army policy. (especially when they are starting out/getting into a new GA)

If I were to ally a 3ple faction duardin list I would need to buy 3 books and BR books. If they lump them together you get 1 book for a big faction. Much easier.

I can't see any reason why they should give us more models if all dwarves will be in 1 book. I can bet, that IF this will happens combined army will be more competitive than solo... which will force other players to buy models they don't want.
