I don't know how it works but it seems that there is a Command that gives you +1atk if your unit don't pile in (or something like that).
If that's the case, that doubles our saw attacks for that juicy -2rend. Not sure how good it could be but it's something to take in mind.
Plus you can strike with master and riggers together if I'm correct.

Hauler: 160 (+5)
Navigator: 100 (+15)
Admiral: 140 (+15)
Endrinmaster on foot: 80 (-15)
Brokk: 160 (-40)
Endrinmaster with Dirigible suit: 160 (-20)

Riggers: 110 (-10)
Wardens: 100 (-5)
Thunderers: 130 (-5)
Thundrik&lads: 130 (-20)Now I feel that with new rules for the season we can think about wardens under barak-zon or riggers with endringible master.

I would start by removing from the standard battlepack:
- stuff that complicates list-building: battalions
- stuff that usually gets forgotten during the game: battalions, monstrous rampages, heroic actions
- stuff that significantly slows the game down: battle tactics, grand strategies
Then we can see if any additional trim is required.
I totally disagree on battle tactics and grand stratagies. This alone makes the game interesting. Without them it's just dice rolling simulator.

So it's not really a rumor but more like speculations based on information from resent novels (Gitslayer, Arcanaut oath, Grombrindal and Ansectors Hall)
Long story short. As far as we know Valaya was missing in Age of Sigmar and last time she appear was in End time Nagash book. Many people think that he devour her during this book but for me thisQuotedoesn't sound like devouring to be honest.
But since then we doesn't hear anything about Valaya other then some duardins still worship her. Until now as I think.
So first thing that I want to pointing up is that it looks like something big is happening with duardins underworlds in Shyish. From Black pyramid novel we know that Gazul was devoured by Nagash but still remains at some degree.
Right now we all know that Grombridal is returns to Morlar realms and his mission is to unite all duardins but is that all?
From Grombrindal short stories we know that White bearded wanderer wasQuotecreated by Grungni from his own memories.
He nodded finally, breathless and weary from his labours, and set down his hammer and tongs. He reached out to his creation.
Its hand grasped his.
The reforged duardin stepped out from the anvil and, for the first time since the departure of the Six Smiths to Sigmaron, the Maker welcomed a near-equal to his forge. The duardin, still white-hot from the heat of his making, dipped his head in greeting. The Maker returned the welcome in kind.
‘Father,’ the duardin grunted.
‘You remember…?’ said the Maker.
‘Everything.’
‘Then I fear you’ve the advantage on me. The ages have taken so much.’
‘I’m not sure what to call you, now you’re here,’ said the Maker. ‘You’ve worn so many names. Not least the one by which I once named you.’
The shining duardin looked up.
‘You know my name.’
But we duardin aren’t so quick to forgive a wrong done to us, and the wrong I did to them was great indeed. The centuries that have passed since the Age of Myth have been too long and bloody for them to follow me again, and Grimnir is not yet ready to return. There’s only one thing they all share in common, one duardin who can unite them all.’
Grombrindal sighed and picked up his axe. ‘Best make a start then, hadn’t I?’but also this stories tied to duardins underworlds as well. For example Grungni have very interesting conversation with Nagash
Quote‘Aid me as you aided him,’ the voice hissed. The wisp-light deepened with the sudden intensity of its words. ‘Give me the keys to the duardin underworlds, and with such tools will we remake Shyish into a fortress of Order as will endure unto the end of things.’
‘No.’
‘I will find them if I must. I will break them, and devour their guardian spirits and false-gods as I have all others.’
‘No you won’t, or you wouldn’t have bothered to ask. Because though you clearly don’t know me nearly half as well as I thought you did, I do still know you. Now…’ Shuffling about, he rested the foot of his cane back on the mail vest draped over the duardin skeleton’s ribcage. ‘I asked you to get out of my kinsman’s body and leave me in peace. I even said please.’What is interesting about that? Who is this "guardian spirits" and "false-gods"?
And finally I want to share some information from Ancestors Hall short story whereQuoteopening one of the duardins underworlds
First thing that strikes me is that there is alot of mansioning for atmosphere and quality of ale
Quote‘Duardin knew how to brew ale in those days,’ Finn said.
‘That they did,’ Aegil agreed.
‘Not like duardin now,’ said Finn.
Aegil nodded. ‘Not like now.’

Fires roared in several dozen hearths, providing an ample display of wealth but curiously little warmth or comfort.

Unnerved, and uncertain why, he took a sip of the ale.
It was not that it tasted bad so much as that it tasted of so little. Whatever qualities Troggbeater’s brews had once possessed, they had been dulled by repetition until they were as grey, flat and bland as the venerable brewery master himself.
_____________________________________Next thing is Grombrindal him self and his behavour when he meet other duardins
Quote‘How did you get inside the gates?’
Rather than answer, Gotti looked up as though taking in the more prosaic wonders of Aegil’s entrance hall. ‘The one place I’d always yearned to see, and the one place that has always been denied me.’ He smiled to himself, but there was a sadness in it that even Aegil could see as he completed his admiring survey of the ceiling and its eight linked frescoes. ‘It’s not every day that one as well travelled as I gets a glimpse of that he’s never seen before. I thank you for that, at least.’ He turned back to Aegil. His smile was still there, but the weariness of his eyes spoke of disappointment. ‘But she’s not here, is she.’
‘Who isn’t here?’
‘No,’ Gotti sighed, the philosophical gruffness in his dismissal setting Aegil’s teeth on edge. ‘She’s not here. She’d not leave a footsore traveller going thirsty on her doorstep.’ He made as though to leave.Who is "She" story doesn't unswear but we get this at the end
Quote‘Nagash,’ said Gotti, in a voice like lead. It was as though the traveller had read his mind. ‘He sought to devour you, and your hall, as he has so many others in this realm. For centuries beyond even my power to count he’s hunted for you. He is patient, I’ll give him that, but the craft of the duardin isn’t so easily undone, and a duardin who’s determined to stay hidden isn’t so readily found.’ He turned and winked. His brilliant white beard bristled around a modest smile as he tapped the side of his nose. ‘Unless you know what you’re looking for, of course.’
and
QuoteGotti chuckled as he turned a longing gaze onto the gate behind him. ‘One day, perhaps. One day. But until then I’ve more halls to find, more doors to open. There’re as many underworlds in Shyish as there are duardin in the Mortal Realms, and I’ve a feeling I’m going to have to search them all.’
‘For what?’
Gotti gave him a wide smile, and Aegil felt as though all the wealth in the Mortal Realms had just landed in his lap. ‘Someone who’ll have a warm hearth and a strong ale for a wanderer like me, I’ve no doubt.’So... someone who’ll have a warm hearth and a strong ale for a wanderer you say? Does duardins have the Goddess of hearth and brewing?
Just to add abit more speculation... How about Valaya leading order faction of einherjar type of duardins in Shyish, considering that duardins have legends about Valykraz(aka Valkyries)?
P.S. If administration deside that it's the wrong topic for the post I'll delete it.- 3

I think, based on lore hints, that the next major new dwarves we'll get will be Chorfs.
But after that - bring on the Dispossessed!
I think that they will be connected to other duardin releases. I will be more then happy to see duardin vs duardin dualbox)

Looking at 2023 rumors I'm curious if duardins will get CoS 3ed with dispossessed ->KO 3ed->duardin tome with Valaya returning and dispossessed 4ed -> new duardin units for CoS 4ed -> new dispossessed in duardin tome 5ed.

Next edition realm focus will be imho obviously a mix of Ghur and mostly Ulgu as "probably" we'll see the rightful Phoenix king coming back.
But i dread we'll get another empty year...a single full release like cities can't full the drought of last year .
I always hope for more duardin but i know we will not see anything for a long time sadly (unless chorfs comes out at least).I believe that Chorfs capital or one of the biggest city is in Ulgu?

If the Battletome written at the start of the edition is good, why does this matter? Nurgle have one if the oldest Battletomes if the edition, but it's still great. New Battletomes for the sake of be Battletomes seems a weird thing to want.
If you play 1 time per month. If you play 3-4 time per week then you will know most of the tricks of your faction very fast. Plus what if your tome is bad? Baggy? Doesn't have clear ruling? Wait 5-6 more years and be happy.

Just now, JerekKruger said:
I'm not sure the current system is the lesser evil. At the moment some factions get to have up to date Battletomes for a few months per edition: that's terrible. At least longer cycle would lengthen those periods.
As KO player I can tell you that I'm already bored. And my tome will not come-up for the next 6-8 months. And I believe that Fyreslayers have the same problem already(and they have 3ed tome btw). So my point is that we have zero indication that GW want to change how they handle battletome managment and then we will have more subfactions, souping is guaranteed.

It's happily take five year cycles. Three years is just to little.
That said, personally I think the actually rules for armies should be released for free as a PDF (by all means sell a really nice physical lore and art book sold for each army too), and those should all be written and released at the same time as the new edition. The fact that armies are waiting years after a new edition is released for an update is just absurd (moreso when some of those updates will come shortly before the end of the edition).
But I doubt this will happen, as GW have clearly decided selling books is a big part of their revenue stream. Personally I think that well produced lore and art books with original content would sell well, but the problem with original content is it requires work to produce, and given GW weren't even willing to stretch to new covers for half the 3rd edition Battletomes I think it's clear they're not keen on that.
This is my point. GW can't do it right so I want to choose less evil.

Currently, we have the situation where armies get a battletome mere months before the edition which it was written for is over.
The idea of a longer cycle is that all armies have multiple years with a battletome written for that system, not that armies will not get battletomes for entire editions.
Some of them, yes. But factions that will get their tome at the start of the edition will wait too long for new one. Ofc if you play 1 game per month it's fine, but I playing 3-4 games per week so I'll benefit if updates will be more often and 3-4 month is enought for me to more further.

Its 3 years. I would be happy with 4 years. Give every book at least a 1 year chance to stay unchanged for casual players like me. GHB and Season of War can change things up enough for tournament play imho.
Edit: Didnt expect this poll to be so evenly divided.
The problem is that if you have 4 years per edition there is a chance that some faction will wait 7-8 years instead of 3-4. And this is considering the number of factions we have right now. If number will go to x2 mark then we will have fb situation where some faction will not be updated for 10+ years...

The other option is longer edition cycles and i am all for that to be honest.
Longer then 4 years? No thanks)

I mean I don’t think that really true considering that 40K while GW did consolidate Harlequin, they add three more armies and Codex this edition and they have slightly more army then AoS. also Emperor Children is probably coming in the future. Yes there probably going to be less new armies in the future but I don’t see them combining any armies in AoS either.
Time will tell)
-
I'm not really into souping any faction but I honestly believe that this is direction where we all are heading. GW can't support so many factions properly so in future we probably will see something like 6-7 big factions per alliance. And each big alliance will contain 4-5 smaller factions with the same theme.

Have we ever had closure on that?
Far as I recall the souls of the Khinerai and Melusai are all from those saved from Slaanesh's belly and given new bodies by Morathi. I think all the current ones who die go to Nagash and the Undead Realm. Because its only Sigmar he really has a beef with and its only Sigmar who steals active souls from the Mortal Realms who die. That's why it was such a big thing that Morathi stole more than her fair share and damaged the bindings that held Slaanesh in place and why that spell has to keep going as Slaanesh ate a LOT of elf souls from the Old World. Vast legions of them - thus more than enough to keep Morathi well supplied with melusai and khinerai and the others with their creatures.
Idoneth also can grab and collect souls. So I think that she can "reforge" Maleneth.
Also. Not all souls goes to Nagash. Most duardin souls are collected by Grungni and Grombrindal.

I mean it’d make sense for her model to release around the time of the big CoS reboot next year(possibly) anyway. Hopefully with another solo short story of hers.
They could even do a dual-release here of her and the ex-Sigmarite since they both technically left the Order of Azyr but still help the free people so would be good rebel heroes to go along with Gotrek and his ability to mix with other factions(Maleneth would even answer his speed problem while the new priestess could cover his vulnerability vs hordes)
Anyway, love the new books! They feel very new and fresh and show off the Mortal Realms amazing diversity with how different each hero is.
Also nice that these plus the chaos one gives us one novel per Grand Alliance. Been a good year for books! 👍
Would be cool if IDK will give her soul to Marathi and she will ressurect her as her agent and we will see the reunion of her and Gotrek plus his friend from Edassa as SCE.

I kinda hope they don't bring Felix back in AoS, one of the major themes in Gotrek's new adventures is to let go and make peace with what is.
Also i don't want more characters from WHFB to show up. We still know Malerion and Tyrion are around, just not a part of the narrative yet, but i feel like the setting will just be anchored too heavily to it's past if the only characters in it are those from ages past. Look at what is happening with 40k, every rumor is about which primarch/30k character will return next, which older character will get a remake next and yadayadayada.
It makes the settings feel smaller than what they are, newer characters being ignored or looked at with disdain by the fanbase. New narratives with new relations and dynamics to play around with is what i want, sure the occasional old face is a welcome surprise, but i am afraid that GW will just milk the character nostalgia to the point where other narratives will ignored. It's part of the reason i don't engage with 40k anymore to any real extent, it's just turning into a type of soap opera where the same 10 characters interact with eachother and ignores the wider universe.
I'm mostly agree but must say that I really want to see Valaya, Vlad and Isabella returning.

These rumours have put me in a doomy gloomy mood.
Whilst some new models are always nice, what I love about Cities is the variety of different races and even amongst the humans lots of different and interesting units.
These rumours make me worried that Cities are going to get less variety and more boring.
I believe that we will see duardin and ealven wave for new CoS in future.

As always our tome one of the latest in edition. That's kinda funny coz KO, Tzeench and Lizards was the last one in 2nd edition if I'm correct)
