  1. Did anyone have any ideas how we could use our aether gold shares? We must take 20 man units of arcanauts, 15 man units of thunderers and 12 man units of skyriggers. It's 1390-1470 pts without ships, heroes or battalions.

    For 300 pts frigate must be 40k leman russ in the world of AoS.

    It’s just, to me, exclamations like ‘it seems like a joke’ come across as a negative click bait title. Especially when it’s without any knowledge (not calling you unknowledgable, but we as a community don’t know anything yet.)

    but allied hearthguard with a runesmiter has been a great allied force for my KO for a year now.  It’s really useful to set up that wall of undying dwarfs on the table. 

    fyreslayrrs, in small groups, seem really fun to paint as well 

    If you want damage and survivability instead of movement that’s called fyreslayers. I’m not saying KO is any tier yet until we see some play but if you feel teleportation is not going to help be competitive you haven’t played a objective based game in a while. Having a boat with passengers just move anywhere in their movement phase is insanely good. 

    regarding still needing battleline. We have no idea if the frigates battleline in ziflin is the only one. Skywardens conditional battleline seems likely to me, same for thunderers. And where did you get the points? 
    Or the confirmation that the khemist rule won’t change but the amount of special weapons will? 

    Fact is. Just like anyone here you don’t know anything besides the community article. So why do desperate to convince people this is going to be a fail? let the glass half full people enjoy it and when we turn out to be a 3-2 army there is time enough to bemoan we need survivability 😁

    I just want to be more sceptical about it.

    I think that you will drop your troops from the ship and they will die from enemy charge. I still can't understand why everyone thinks that garrison rule and teleportation will help KO being competitive. You can transport only 10-20 models per ship and it's 320-720 pts for one packed up ship. Plus you need heroes and battleline. Without chemist buff, 1 skyhook per 10 arcanauts and 4+ tohit with shooting it looks like a joke to me. We need damage or survivability not movement. I hope we will get that.

    And on top of that, will releasing models below their norm, hurt their image? I don’t know but having worked for several companies as a freelance communication advisor I know how protective companies can be about their company standard.

    3. I don't think anybody can truly clear it up. But as far as I understand it through all the podcasts and interviews with GW employees it's all down to model first. If the Ogor release was on the schedule and a designer got a cool idea for the mawpot and it was approved. That's why it's there. Fyreslayers a designer created the endless spells and that's why they got them. There apparently wasn't a design that was approved. It's no stranger than that. 

    Probably you are right but if to be honest creating 3 boxes of models (hero/es/terrain) doesn't looks like rocket science for me)

    also just want to make the distinction again. Posting that you feel a lack of more models is a shame is something completely different then whining. (Although those aren’t mutually exclusive either)

    I see the main problem that we have no clue why specific releases include one or another items/models. Why orogs get hero and terrain and fyreslayers get spells and terrain? Why beasts of chaos get spells and terrain and KO get only hero? It's so strange and confusing.

    the first group is fine, the second group is getting flacc for their behaviour. 

    For some people this things are connected. The more money you spend the more personal each new release will be. Especially if you are monofaction collector.

    I would have bought anything they release but I have more than enough dice at home. 

    For me it's more about: "how interesting KO for GW?" And apparently not interesting at all... so our faction probably will be the last for any new editions and models.

    Arkanauts dont need better saves, they need better rules! 

    Dont know if it wouldnt be too much but imagine them shooting at the beginning of the fight phase. Then even those 4+/4+ shots would hurt. 

    Rules to let them fight twice (with improved combat profiles), retreat instead of fighting (which could be combined with the already existing fight last ability of the ships),basically ANYTHING to make the opponent worry about our army, other than 12 endrinriggers or 12 skyhooks to the face.

     

    Edit: I’d happily pay 20-30% more points for our units if they perform well enough for their cost. 

    I could totally live with 3-4 Heroes, 1 of each Ships, 3 Battlelines (more choice here please) and a support/elite unit. Fyreslayers work like that too now and they are so much fun to play. 

    I think I'll agree. Maybe overwatch can be one of KO allegiance ability? So when our oponent decide to charge he will think twice knowing that our army will have second shooting phase. In that case thunderers ability to retreate will be more dangerous and our awful combat phase will be balanced.

    Maybe I misunderstood you and you wanted to say that grots also dont look like a 4+ save but a) its not their profile save and b) its JUST against shooting (which is kinda problematic for us at the moment but we shall see. At least we dont shoot them with - to hit like close combat units do)

     

    tbh, I did not play my KO for over a year now (aside from 3-4 fungames) as they cant deal with most things reliably at the moment, which the new battletome will fix I am sure. 

    I just mean that KO need something to deal with horde army) 

    And don't mind me wrong I'm not a huge fan of 4+ save or 2w arcanaut. But I'm sure that gw will not give them more damage so the only way how you can balance them - make them tougher.
