  1. Yep, while OBR as a faction existed since the Age of Myth, they were kept hidden in underground necropolis until Nagash found a valid general. Katakros was finally freed and rebuilt only after the Necroquake revealed the stormvault that was imprisoning his spirit. Therefore the Hysh invasion of OBR is really recent and from that snippet we can conclude two things: Nagash is still alive and kicking, OBR are still in Hysh. Anything else exciting could have happened in between but for me the most important thing is that this great rebellion of Death factions with Nagash losing his grip is less likely now (and for me this is a bonus as I don’t want to see Nagash removed from the scene until he can provide a diversion to Chaos forces).
  2. Sure will come back in a couple of months to see what happened. Whatever he got will need to be worth more than using those now dead troops to save other slaughtered Aelves.
  3. So you are telling me that the most powerful spell caster of elvenkind, called the God of Illumination is not expected to have any foresight or ability to see major plot twists in the future? Then he should probably downgrade his titles a bit Or hire some Eshin to inform him better...
  4. Would we have expected less from Teclis? I mean come on... the entire plot to topple Nagash while Slaanesh is being reborn and Archaon is really close to get into Azyr didn’t make any sense
  5. The main question to answer your question is how big will be the changes between AoS 2 and AoS 3. If, as most people suggest and think, they will be minor, it means many factions can still work quite well while waiting for a tome with some potentially even being able to skip an edition. The latter however seems to be rarer and rarer considering few factions now had even two tomes within the same edition. From AoS 1.0 to 2.0 we had the culling of certain factions like partially Wanderers, the integration of some in bigger alliances like most cities of Sigmar and Soulblight and some other even expanded with their own tome and new miniatures like Nighthaunt. Brayherd almost entirely remained the same within BoC but that’s not always the case. Then there are FW armies who were dropped few years after getting a 2.0 compendium, but that is for other reasons. I suspect some like Lethis and Legion of Grief will be eventually forgotten but some from White Dwarf may keep surviving now that they are officially in the FAQ list. One of the first tests on what is awaiting us is Slaanesh now that there is a Newborn on the horizon. Will the three factions still make sense? Change name but keep their play style? Or completely replaced? I personally think, except LoN as we know it today, all armies will be safely migrated to AoS 3.0 and the changes will be relatively small. If they will be big then there will be some time in which your army will be probably under performing. Bigger are the changes, most likely are the subfactions to go, with few exceptions like the various Gitz or Stormcast main Stormhosts. Rules of course will change. If you base your army on a specific faction or artifact then risks are high you might lose their main purpose (ask Vince Venturella about his flying steam tank). In all other cases, especially newer armies, are safe investments. If you want to get a hold of how painting a certain army would look like I personally use Warhammer Underworld warbands as tests. They are relatively cheap and give you a decent idea for most armies. If you don’t like them after painting you can resell usually at the same buying price.
  6. Yeah that seems a cool idea and would match what today GW does with sub-factions. Regarding Soulblight as it is today we have: Vampire Lord, Mannfred, Neferata, Vhordrai, Blood Knights, Vargheist, Coven throne and Palanquin, Fell Bats and Bat Swarm. The last two kits are absurdly old and ugly so either they need to go or be replaced. Vargheists are the same kit as half FEC so are here to stay, Blood knights: rumour has there’s a new kit waiting for them. Everything else is safe to say has no reason to be pulled out, so this leaves a quite elite army, with the addition of thralls like new zombies and the old skeletons what would really be missing is something exotic like Werewolves or Vampire-Wolves and some centre piece (maybe a new Mortarch?). Assuming the entire LoN does not get pulled in, in that case there’s even more kits with some ready to be updated or retired. In any case what’s missing is some exotic elite options. Ranged attacks would be a plus, but I don’t really see it in this army as it is... I wouldn’t mind Terrorgheist and Zombie Dragon being restricted to FEC and see some new centrepiece. Regarding kits to get rid or update: Bat Swarm, Fell Bat, Dire Wolves, Zombies and maybe the Corpse Cart? Thats just my 2 cents...
  7. Cool city Glymmsforge, pity we don’t know what happened afterwards. For all we know nothing could be left of it apart the catacombs
  8. Super excited by the Cursed city, there are 8 hero silhouettes and 5 bad guys. We have more or less a list of the heroes with some ideas thrown there, but we have six districts open in the city and 4 shields still hidden... could those be expansions? Silver tower was a great game at his time and indeed heralded Tzeentch release, but not much else came from it so I would temper expectations from whatever miniatures will be in this set. Of the six heroes in ST two are already squatted, and the other 4 rarely see an appearance in AoS (the Mistweaver being also not playable in any current alliance?). Tzeentch had gaunt summoner, ogroid traumaturge, tzaangors, acolytes and horrors. All good models that mostly are still used. Skaven and Grot scuttling were a good idea but eventually squatted. The best we can hope from AoS perspective is heralding a refresh of Death miniatures in the Gravelords new faction. Everything else is a bonus. Personally I’ll just enjoy the game. ST was a bit repetitive but BF improved a lot on that field so I’m curious to see the division in districts how it helps the gameplay.
  9. If Teclis is going to Shysh, could it be a Shyish city? We already have Lethis but is old and does not follow same style as the main ones today. On the other hand a CoS city that allies with LoN 1 in 4 would be extremely thematic and interesting
  10. I hope Destruction gets rightfully their time under the sun but I hope in addition for crazy new factions rather than just Orcs and Goblins. Sons cover a niche area but in the end they are bigger Ogors, would need something different, maybe not even humanoid. Insectoid?
  11. Ok it’s a novel with protagonists Lumineth... let me guess, this Carreth is going to succeed and kill this unnamed and therefore not important Ossiarch general. Katakros is not there in Hysh, the Ossiarch are not led by anyone important, hence big set back for them. Problem solved! Let’s move on...
  12. Tree revenant archer says hi 😭😭 or all other beasts like the dog in the Darkoath army or the bats in the FEC army
  13. They are usually chronologically at least the main books, but hey, if you claim to be the god of Illumination shouldn’t you have a bit of foresight? Or you just install light bulbs and allow destruction of worlds?
  14. This... am I the only thinking that going after Nagash after he is the only one who dented a bit Chaos in his own territory now that Slaanesh is getting free, Morathi started a civil war and Gordrak is getting ready to invade Azyr is the stupidest thing the God of Illumination could do??? ah sorry we are talking about Teclis...
  15. Even if we get only a Warhammer quest with death miniatures would be new miniatures for death so I’m still good whichever way but I’m happy for Lumineth to get a new temple!
  16. I’m with you The only good ones are those that have little side effects against you like the Ossiarch ones, but those defile the purpose of endless spells... The first ones like the Nighthaunt are pretty but not worth the cost of entire units... even 4 glaivewraiths are better (60 points).
  17. I’d rather see it in a new grot but crazier Grot army. Maybe following Rippa Snarlfang and the old wolf riding goblins. Isnt Fist of Gork already a miniature?
  18. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-55629984 on other news GW is on BBC we can only hope more exposure means more miniatures coming our way 😂😂😂
  19. Nagash power is not infinitely growing although. Flesh-Eater are not controlled and we now they can reproduce by spreading their curse. We don’t know what happens to their souls but I would expect they don’t go to Nagash either? Then there’s things like Idoneth, Chaos gods, Sigmar and now mountains like Beastgrave, cities like Shadespire, etc. So yeah while in theory he could only grow in size in practice it’s a slow drip because of all new soul thieves hence the Soul Wars... I personally would like to see more Death based armies but I don’t care who in the end controls them but I admit Nagash needs to be reigned over a bit especially the all-consuming Nadir in Nagashizzar
  20. Do we know anything on how the new lockdown affected Nottingham production? In theory they should be shut until end of February... If a new death army is coming and is reviewing the existing models I would not mind skeletons on the line of the Sepulchral Guard. As of today that is the only warband of an existing army that looks out of context. Slaves being a hybrid between Darkoath that never realised and Warcry that at least provided some cannon fodder.
  21. I’m talking about the coins in particular. It means with Jan and Feb potentially gone you would need to spend 180£ in March to get the 3 coins for the collection. Same money but shorter timeframe... can be hard, also because you would have limited days to buy them... I’m not suggesting to only sell on web stores, but to enable web sales in locked out countries to compensate the closed stores. Then when shops reopen you close that option online...
  22. Yeah but with a minimum month of lockdown, the earliest they could reopen could be even March and that means a lot of coins waiting for us... I get the point, but let’s be fair, doesn’t work in a pandemic and they should enable web stores at least in the countries where it is completely locked.
  23. Ahah, why? No one uses them anyway. Tried to sell few without success for months now... Lumineth mountain temple (Alarith) is made of 3 kits and 4 warscrolls. The wind temple could be the same and we already saw at least 2 models, it’s possible one is dual and we have a similar size. Multiply by 4 and add Tyrion and his side of the Vanari or whatever they will be called and you actually have a huge army with many options in few years. Skaven was not built in a day... Patience my aelementari...
  24. Consider the battletome was meant to be released in April so really it’s almost a year later, with a bit more time they could even fix what didn’t work in the battletome with these small expansions. I understand they are not for everyone but for me just for the lore they are auto-buy, the rules being just the cherry on the cake
