    New rules for Lumineth.

I like that we have another auto-hit weapon and it seems to have low dmg overall?
Being sunmetal weapons, I expect to see a 6+ mw (5+ with power-up).

It's insane, was someone who was very much offended by the pointy ears treatment in End Times put in charge of this hot garbage? I'll say it now but LRL seem beyond Pre-nerf Petrifex level of broken.  For the record I never though Petrifex were but that's another story.  Based on this SGL should be absolutely barmy.

Although I hasten to add points cost will be a crucial thing with these. God I'm sick of Aelves, can't we have some Orruks, Duaridin or even  Skaven?

My prediction for release is May to early June at the latest.

Remember the Kangaroo Kavalry was leaked the same time as the Vampire Lord blister pack, so they're sat in a warehouse somewhere waiting to be distributed.

They usually do a Preview every three-four weeks, so presumably in April's Preview we'll see the remainder of the range.

Soulblight's had it's Battletome cover revealed, which usually comes quite late along. Sisters of Battle still have units to be revealed and don't have their 'dex cover yet, whilst the only 40k codex coming is Mechanicus (which was shown off at the same time). Once Cursed City is out there's nothing else in the pipeline beyond BR3 and the Underworlds warbands who rarely take up an entire week by themselves. Cursed City might be a two week pre-order though, which eats up some time but that still leaves some of April and May otherwise empty and open for Soulblight/BR4.

I hope you are right and I'm wrong, I'd love them sooner but just don't see it myself.

Hopefully there's still more we haven't seen as well.

If new skeleton kit gonna replace the old kit. What gonna happen to the skeleton horde start collecting?

Gw wont keep it if the skeleton kit is disscounted and replaced for other.

So i dont know what do,start my vampire army getting this start collecting?but i have fear because it isnt safe even if all the units gonna stay in the tome but if i wait to see the tome to see what units are there maybe be too much late and the start collecting is  deleted allready

I'd say hold off. Last thing you want is to start a new army and then have a load of outdated models. The start collecting box will probably be kicking around for a while before they get rid of it.  Wait until the big release and start with all new in keeping models. :)

In terms of when release will happen, keep in mind that it was a much longer wait from initial reveal to actual release for some other recent new factions, particularly slaanesh.  It's entirely possible that we might be waiting till october or november.

100% agree, can't see them being released this before Autumn at the earliest. Crimson Court we know is April Cursded City perhaps April or May, actual Soulblight Gravelords can't see it so early tbh.

  5. So hyped for this. I'm preparing myself for the inevitable disappointment of Abhorash not appearing (i'll still hope until it's 100% he isn't in it.) but even if he doesn't I could live with it given all the other cool stuff. We do need a new centrepice model though...

  6. The executioner is huge! As others have said, seem to have some skeleton archers not doing much atm and a box of necron warriors (with the green clear plastic thing) have to say though I’m probably ditching OBR now my first st love is getting the attention it deserves.

  7. I’m considering fell bats. I’ve never considered fell bats in all the years I’ve been in the hobby!

(FYI extremely late 5th ed for web, and 3rd ed 40k although I couldn’t care less about the fate of smurfs these days)

Okay, I love everything. GW knocking it out the park. Bit worried for my 100 skellies though. What do you think the place for our old bonies will be in this newfangled force? Do you think they'll even have a place? I'm thinking of flogging them off for the new goodness but if they've still got a place... just don't know.

Yeah I’m in a similar position, I’m probably GW’s perfect customer; already have loads of skegs and a full vampire count army but going to ignore that and start afresh lolz.

  9. This won’t be everyone’s bag but I hope they somehow can do the fear mechanic for AoS that made the army really thematic in the old days. Yes most of the units were appalling but if an enemy failed a fear test things got interesting...

  10. Also more generic zombies that aren’t as silly as the warhammer quest ones! Zombies have never been my cup of tea but I know the quest ones rubbed people up the wrong way.

I find it quite hilarious that the undead seem to have the most horses in the game!

Give me Abhorash and take my money games workshop!

  11. “Leading legions of the undead in their conquest are the Vampire Lords, frighteningly powerful,”

hopefully this means vampire lords are getting a serious stat boost and I pray blood knights will actually be good, make them 500 for 5 if they have to. In oldhammer they were perhaps the most devasting cavalry unit on the charge. I’d quite like them to be so again.

can someone tell me why arkhan and nagash can have 3 spells from the lore? I see it in many lists but cant find it

It's in the battletome somewhere that they can choose 3 spells and they have access to both lores. Haven't got mine with me atm but will give page number when I get home. :)

  13. All but two are named characters which I wasn't a fan of becoming generic vampire lord models, so that's good.

Hope it's late this year if I'm honest,  they have released Vampire stuff around Halloween in the past.

  14. Yeah the rat thing is a bit too close to those warpstone snorting weirdos. Get rid of all the rats and I love it lolz. In the article they say one of his powers is to transform into a rat swarm; I'd be very happy to see a return of Vampiric Powers...

For the most part, I don’t think the hate is directly aimed at you or the Aelf players, but there are over 20 armies in this game and almost every single one of them needed new rules/models before the likes of Lumineth did. The hate is directed at gw.

in saying that, aelves have a reputation in the lore (or they did in fantasy) as being very smug, arrogant, up-them-selves and believing they’re the most important beings in existence. Sadly some aelf players have those personality traits too and give everyone else a bad name

The second part of this is where my dislike of elves in warhammer comes from. Tyrion and Teclis in the lore (end Times at least) were very unlikable characters for all the reasons listed. Malekith was actually a nicer, more level headed and compelling character than the two good boys who did know end of shifty things.

Also it may not be the case and I am biased as I don't collect them but the Lumineth range seems massive compared to something like OBR or even the Aelf cousins the Idoneth. The nearest comparable size release I can think of is Nighthaunt which had a deluge of new models and obviously inherited some as well. Two battletomes so close to each other rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way as well, Lumineth and non Lumineth players. And when the 3rd LRL battletome comes out with Tyrion next January it will all happen again.

Going back to oldhammer. High Elves had some ridiculous rules too, always strike first, fight with spears in three ranks instead of two.  I'm sure there were more but it was never a great experience to charge a High elf unit and then not fight first.
