  1. I don’t want to say it but I can see us getting luminethed, no endless spells or terrain, no mounted vampire lord to lead the nice new blood knights, grave guard kit sticking round when they look weaker than the new skegs? Soulblight Gravelords book 2 and second wave late October/November.

    no evidence just gut feeling.

  2. I kind of hoped that that model was just some kitbash thing.

Not what I want from a vampire really. Dire wolves were nice to see, hopefully warscrolls all get updated with the exception possibly of Vhordrai as he’s the only one currently that feels like he hits as hard as a vampire lord should.

No Abhorash either which I didn’t really find surprising other than they went out of their way to allude to him in the blood knights article.

Since the reveal day is just around the corner on monday, what do we think will be in the new book?

Personally, other than the obvious stuff like Dire Wolves, I think we will see a unit of flying vampires like the one in the Crimson Court warband. Fast, flying elites just seem like a niche that needs filling in Soulblight. They can pair up with the bat swarms and fell bats we already know are coming, too. I think we will see Vampire foot troops, too.

I also think we will see a new Zombie Dragon centerpiece. It seems unlikely with the Zombie Dragon dual kit situation, but they have to resolve that at some point. Might as well do it now.

I don't think we will see Flesh Eater Courts re-absorbed or Shyish mortal auxilliaries introduced. But I think there is a chance for updated sculpts to the remaining Deathrattle units.

Agree, dire wolves and the differing types of bats, mounted vampire lord seems like a no brainer but stranger things have happened.

Endless spells and a terrain piece are a given you would have thought.

Flying vampires I'm not so sure on as we do still have Vargheists, so I'm a little less optimistic on that front and whether or not the naked vampires from cursed city port over could also hurt the chances.

Big new centerpiece model be it Vhordrai or Abhorash (or something else entirely) you have to believe we're getting one.

It does seem like all nighhaunt (Went all in and have a sizeable nighthaunt army but just don't find them enjoyable to play.), stuff will be removed which would suck a bit as I hate playing nighhaunt but like spirit hosts and hexwraiths.

Hopefully the book is fluffy, fun and makes various builds viable but nothing op. I don't want SBG to be on par with Lumineth, I just want it to not be an absolute train wreck.

GENTLEMEN PLEASE, can we turn up the negativity a bit? It is 10am here and i dont feel like killing myself yet

I'm trying to maintain the hype! Although I do have to be slightly negative about the assembly of Prince Duvalle from crimson court, one of the worst push fit models I've out together! Much rather go wild with glue than push fit although that may just be me...

What are peoples thoughts on rumoured AoS 3.0 rules and how they might affect SGL? I appreciate we have no idea about our battletome yet, but it doesn’t hurt to speculate. Will our book be written without batallions?

My understanding of rules changes are as follows:

Battalions: as we know it, gone. Replaced by generic ones.

Charge reactions: hold = +1 save, fall back = move d6” away, stand and shoot = -1 to hit.

Buffs, debuffs, stacking combos: max out at + 1 or -1

Command points: generation changing to a system closer or OBR, ie they are wiped and then refreshed each battle round.

So, how would either an under elite melee army or an attrition based swamp army fair in this new paradigm?

If charge reactions becomes a thing we may as well go back to square bases rnf and call it warhammer fantasy battles 9th edition!

Dont misunderstand me; I like oldhammer, however I’ve also fully ported over to age of Sigmar and bar some minor gripes (as you have with any game) I like it. What do you mean by generic battalions? That sounds really dodgy...

I very much hope for new characters, both to make AoS more its own thing, to tie it better into the new lore, and because both Olynder and Katakros are pretty cool characters. In particular, I would like to see Vhordrai given a new fancier model over Abhorash returning, since they're basically the same archetype but Vhordrai's "lord of the cursed teleporting castle" is really fun.

I am kind of coming round to that way of thinking, I'd love to see Abhorash and don't see why we shouldn't, given the glut of Old World Characters that have come back. Vhordrai is AoS only and with a bit more attention lore wise to make him a bigger/more active player I could stomach no Abhorash... just. :)

Any speculations on the bloodknights weapon profiles?
    Imma say
lances are 2" 3 attacks at 3+/3+ -1 D1 with D2 and perhaps rend -2 on the charge
swords are 4 attacks at 3+/3+ -1 D1 but i would not know if they will get special rules of sort

Maybe lances do as you say and swords do mortals. So long as they are what the article keeps baning on about: ELITE cavalry.

God the hype train is unreal for me right now. :)

So this is a bit of a sidetrack from the new Blood Knights.  I just finished reading BR: Teclis last night, and an interesting detail stuck out to me.  While I realize that all things come back with necromancy, they go out of their way with each of the Mortarchs to point out that their mounts are destroyed.  Is this a potential harbinger of new Mortarch models?

    I thought Manfred’s survived?

Theres also the slightly less interesting tidbit that Neferata hires Jelsen Darrick to kill some of Manfred's vampires. Although that is before the action kicks off.

Broken realms Teclis was a very bitter pill for me; just got absolutely trounced by high elves.
