Just read the Warscroll. I'm getting one!

    Good move!

He's a great center piece aside from anything else, so is an attention soak.

As you have read he has some great attacks, but can be total hit or miss.

For an example of a hit, see this battle report - look what he does on his first turn and then the attention he gets:

Yes he can completely whiff and his save isn't great but again he can get a good roll and eat a unit and will certainly give your opponent a distraction! All for only 200pts, he is definitely worth those points.

    Plus he looks sweeeeeet.

Managed to score an absolute gem of an army from a social media friend.

    1 Dragon Ogre Shaggoth

    3 Dragon Ogres

    20 Gors

    20 Ungors

    10 Bestigors

    2 Shaman

    2 Beast Lords

Im already in possession of 30 Tzaangors so looks like I'm off to a decent start. Just need to wait for the battletome so I can start to work out what's what. Really looking forward to release now.

That is a pretty sweet start! Jealous of your Tzaangors and Dragon Ogres!

    Grab a Ghorgon!

The problem is, we don't know yet.

We don't know if Bullgors will be "Battleline if" in a new Allegiance or if they will stay battleline in Warherds (like Blood Knights are still only Battleline in a Soulblight Army, not in the Legions.

I would wait with those assumptions until we have evidence what the Battletome will give us.

I understand your pragmatism - however I am making assumptions based upon what we saw with LoN and this:

    image.png.d64fbf10761dce9b98dd133ddec9a77f.png

I think it is fair to say it will be a 'single army' - with a 'overlapping allegiance' that means we can use Goats and Bulls in a single force without worrying about 'allies'.

I take your point about bullgors being battle line - list above could be easily fixed by splitting up/or adding gors.

I'd highly doubt they will bring us a tome and keep these forces splintered, so I will feel free to conceptualize lists based on the positive mindset that BoC will allow us to build a single army with bulls and goats as one again/

As long as Brayherds are allies there is a problem in the list. Since 2.0 you need 3 Units of the Allegiance for every 1 allied unit (this is in Matched Play too). With your 4 Brayherd Units you would need 12 Warherd Units but there are only 6 in the List.

My assumption will be that there will be a 'new allegiance' within the Beasts Of Chaos Battletome which will remove the need for such considerations

  5. Anyone drawing up so BoC lists yet? Of course we don't know what units are effective and what synergies we can have, but very stoked I can finally add some Goats to my (up to now) pure Warherds army, without worrying about the 400pt limit ;)

For my 1.5k with the units I have, I'm thinking this (not meant to be hugely competitive):

    LEADERS
    Beastlord (90)
    - Pair of Man-ripper Axes
    Great Bray Shaman (100)
    Doombull (120)
    - General
    - Command Trait : Lord of War
    - Pair of Axes
    - Artefact : Crown of Conquest

    UNITS
    10 x Bestigors (120)
    20 x Gors (160)
    -Gor-Blades & Beastshields
    3 x Bullgors (160)
    -Great Axes
    3 x Bullgors (160)
    -Great Axes
    3 x Bullgors (160)
    -Great Axes

    BEHEMOTHS
    Cygor (180)
    Ghorgon (200)

    ENDLESS SPELLS
    Aethervoid Pendulum (40)

Anyone else pre planning? Of course my pendulum may well be replaced by a new endless spell ;)

    So excited!

I played some games in competitive , i think is the ''better'' 2000 points Fec at this moment.

    Allegiance: Flesh Eater Courts
    - Delusion: depends

    Leaders
Abhorrant Ghoul King on Zombie Dragon (440)
    - General
    - Trait: Magestic Horror
    - Artefact: Blood River Chalice
Abhorrant Ghoul King on Terrorgheist (400)
    - -2 bravery item
    Crypt Ghast Courtier (80)
    Crypt Ghast Courtier (80)

    Battleline
    20 x Crypt Ghouls (200)
    20 x Crypt Ghouls (200)
    10 x Crypt Ghouls (100)

    Units
    6 x Crypt Horrors (320)

    Battalions
    Ghoul Patrol (180)

    Total: 2000 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 1
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 114

Can I ask what your strategy would be for using it?

    Thanks!

The key theme to FEC is deranged cannibals believing themselves to be noble warriors. The Batteltome only seems to equate that with traditional Knights and such, but expanding on the core theme, that probably shouldn't always be the case. Maybe I'm not 100% up on my Realmslore, but I would assume there are plenty of realms/regions that never had that sort of 'Knights of the Round Table' culture. Could ghouls on Ghur actually see themselves more as noble tribesmen or something? Seems possible.

I went with Chamon, because we happened to have that first Realm Gate book, and I like the Bretonnian idea of revering a Lady. The tragic character of Celemnis fit the theme and SCE were the 'good guys' during her time.

Looking at the background to Aqshy, this Orb Infernia region looks pretty cool.

    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Orb_Infernia

During the Age of Myth it was a proud sky kingdom. A rich world of miners and artisans. Orb Infernia seems to be in ruin now, but I would think that an FEC army here would think itself to be what ever martial force was in place back during the glory years. I'm doubting it was knights on horseback, but the area seems ripe for imagination. How did the citizens get around? Sky ships? Wings made of some contraption or another? Maybe go heavy on Flayers due to the FEC force being the guardians of this once regal sky kingdom? (Deadwatch is a great battalion)

This region also looks ripe for conflicts with Chaos (deamon princes of all four chaos gods) and Order (slann).

This is all just an initial idea. There are plenty of other areas to go into. Hallowheart. Maybe do something related to the rain of stars that fell from the sky ruining many chaos cities. Do the ghouls living in those ruins think they're Star Children? What about a group of nutters who think they're a fyreslayer lodge?  Ghouls with mohawks! ;)

    Hey @Mr. White

Building upon your earlier suggestions, I have drawn a quick map of the Kingdom of Netherbane, located in the Continent of Nugatoria in the Orb Infernia:

I have the beginnings of my great and noble line!

    Further:

Had a look into the Orb Infernia, so many options here - they could be from the Tzeentch Maze Continent (crystal bases) but still carry the Characteristics of Aqshy (red skin fiery temperament) and see themselves as a crusading army driving off the Lizard Emperor and the forces of Chaos.

    Love it. Thanks again

Beautiful my friend. Thank you so much for the inspiration. I have my FEC boxes sitting waiting for how I am going to theme them!

Wish I had half the imagination that you did ;)

I'll phot up when I have my first Aqshy Ghoul created!

I'm new to 1K points, so trying to follow along...

How does the above list have 2x artefacts? It looks like it has none.

Also, how does it have an extra command point?

Finally with the 2 varghulfs and the ghast...isn't it actually 3x 6 (18 total) dice every turn and not 3d6?

    Cheers!

    Hey man,

I think they just aren't added on the list, but you can have 2x because of the battalion (1 default and 1 from battalion). Ditto for the extra CP, battalions give you an extra one.

For the final question about dice, OP is referring to the Battalion ability for Ghoul patrol where you add (not revive dead) 3d6 Ghouls per turn (separate from Courtiers usual reinforce abilities).

    Hope that answers your questions

  11. Hey guys, can someone suggest a 1000pt list? Are ZD and TG too much for a list of this level?

    My Plan was:

    GKoZD (440)

    -General, Majestic Horror (Artefact?)

    3 X Crypt Horrors (160)

    20 x Crypt Ghouls (200)

    20 x Crypt Ghouls (200)

    W/ 2 x Varghulf being summoned in.

    Thoughts? Advice?
