I think between Kragnos, Sons of Behemat, Ghur and people asking for wandering beasts... you are getting your wish for Age of Kaiju!

Now if only Grungni could build some steam powered giant mechs we'd truly be in business!

its my dream of AoS Pacific Rim

I feel vaguely foolish in my lack of 40k knowledge, I do know we are getting a new starter set but I was more curious if we are specifically getting a larger limited collectors edition? Which I believe did not contain any scenery? I am unaware if the current starter set shares the name Indomitus?

I was talking about this release specifically:
    https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/06/13/warhammer-40000-preview-whats-in-the-boxgw-homepage-post-1/

everyone who been leaking stuff have been saying AoS will get one, and they have been mostly right about everything else so far. i don't think GW going to shy away from releasing a big boxset like this even if most likely a limited run item and they will have problem with demand

Is there a chance of an Indomitus style AOS box? Is that something people here have heard rumours about or would be interested in?

Considering the difficult roll out of that box and the issues with cursed city I could imagine GW not risking it.

Well they did confirm there is a Boxset coming, so i don't think they going to shy away from doing it.

it could be less content then Indomitus (like no terrain) but the big versus box probably will be a extremely hot item so there definietly interests

  4. i think most people in community would have wanted GW to balance the Battalion instead of doing away with them, but i guess that too much of a task so they went with the Core Battalions, like in no way Troggherd and Changehost should cost the same in any universe

if all armies gain core battalion , it easier to not have to worry about pointing them and just balance units cost and how easily and army can fill up those battalion slots versus others

  5. plus i feel like when they said addressing the Haves and Haves not of each armies and to even out the playing field (which surprisingly the same language everyone else use like Warhammer weekly and other content creator) it would make sense that they relegate current battalions to narrative and match play be only Core battalions because you would establish that playing field right away by doing so.

So .. whats the timer at the AoS webpage counting down to? Release? The day we will see the opposing force? The day they will offer the cursed city again?

i hope they reveal the opposing force sooner but i wouldn't be surprise

May 22: more stormcast and a peak at the new army

May 29 cinematic trailer maybe and the new Army in full

Between the rumors and the newsletter banner I would say it seems pretty clear it's greenskins...

But the thing the bugs me out is: Don't we already have a race of greenskins that lives in dank, dark places full of mushrooms? If it's not a full race it could be a "Fellwater" Clan in opposition to the "Rockgut" Moonclans that we have, but wouldn't be weird to start an edition with a subfaction?

I don't know, I just hoped in a new faction of Grots devoted to the sun, and a Swamp is like the polar opposite of sun. We will see.

yeah i though it was a bit weird that they set the place in a Swamp since it one of the Biome that is related to Gloomspite Gitz

at least from how i gather from the lore

GloomSpite: Caves, underground caverns, Swamps, place for Nocturnal beings

Gitmob: Plains, grass lands, and Arid regions

    Grotbag: the Sky and Mountains

Theory:  maybe Belakors big storm is blotting out the sun in GHur and the Sun Grot don't like this

The more I think about it the more I think that this was simply a poorly executed narrative event, the Belakor aspect I mean.

Because even without the immediate AOS 3 reveals, people would not honestly have believed SC were just going to not be a thing or die out or whatever. People would always have assumed it would be a temporary problem that Belakor had caused because if it wasnt it simply strikes too hard at an essential aspect of AOS. It would never have seemed credible for long

i feel like they miss the whole step of Grugni actually going to Azyr and making the New Armor for Sigmar and if there was anything that needed to be done for those armor to be finished

Maybe I'm so far away for the target audience that I can't see it, but I can't see Fimir being popular no matter the way they are introduced.  I personally think generic 'GA: Destruction' humans that are basically not-Chaos Marauders would do several times better than Fimir.  I feel same about not-beastmen/centaurs being added to Destruction of Fimir.

I just don't see much that is compelling (I could be very bias though) in Fimir design.  I mean maybe a single unit as part of a hodgepodge Destruction faction sure (like Kroot with Tau in 40k or something), but certainly not a stand-alone faction.  The Fimir seem like something just too dated to revive.  However, I know how much GW loves to recycle ideas, and maybe they can make it work in some fashion.  Like I said, maybe I am that far away from the target audience that I am not even worth pursing.

It just seems to me that GW could easily put out something else that would be far, far more popular. I mean somehow connect dark elves (or whatever their AoS equivalent) to Destruction.  I think that would do several times better in terms of sales.

I guess for whatever the mysterious army is, I know GW does extensive marketing testing on these thing, from what I heard they do product showing to a lot of people and to specific people group that are not familiar with Warhammer and see if certain concepts and model appeal to them ( based on a lot of metrics)

like for Nighthaunt in previous edition, I would not have thought that GW would have made an army of all ghost work but it apparently scored very high in their marketing testing and that concept was able to go forward as the new starter set army. ( may have even beaten out OBR for that spot)

here I would have though that Ironjawz would have been the safest and more slam dunk move for a new starter set, but since it looks like it’s something completely new army I am pretty sure GW did the same testing to be confident in releasing this new army.

  10. I though that it was a bit weirdthat they used Swamp/ Bog/ Fenn as the setting for the new army since i though Gloomspite encompasses that area (Dank caves ,and Swamps) but it feel like they are hinting at something totally new and different

Didn't the leakers say 'Bretonnian Stormcast' and these just seem more Greco-Roman than anything.

i think it was a different leaker

the one for Bretonnia Stormcast was from THG

    Hobgoblins was from Grimdark live
