Well, I don't want to be that guy, but keen eyes viewers will notice that those grots have 6 limbs while the silver tower scuttlings have distinctly 8 limbs which would suggest insectoid rather than arachnoid.

Tinfoil Hat time, perhaps they're thinking about some crazy insect based chaos grot thing. There were hobgoblins that served the Chaos Dwarves backs in the day, so there is precedent if they wanted to explore that idea.

or they where just lazy and didn't want to draw an extra pair of hands

I'm very well aware of how GW doesn't want to show anything too soon... I was however hoping to see a bit more of one of the flagship games for an event that actually has a pretty steep price tag on it (compared to lots of other wargame conventions around here). The last version in the UK had a good balance between AoS (with the soulwars release), adeptus titanicus, imperial knights, blood bowl,... previews.

Now, it's completely focused on the scifi side of GW, with 2 tiny little teasers for anything AoS related. When they charge €30 euro plus parking fee for an event, it would actually be nice if it's slightly more balanced, even if  it means looking a bit further into the future. They even have previews of sisters of battle stuff that aren't even coming in a year from now, so I'm not sure how well that argument holds up.

I'll see what it's like tomorrow. Looking at GD will be cool, hopefully I can have a fun chat with one of the designers and painters of GW, but in the future, I really do hope they balance things out better. I'd be equally annoyed if I were a 40k fan and didn't get to see any new model because all the models being showed were AoS.

Well actually 40k player did complain that the last Warhammer fest had a lack 40k content reveals and that  it was all AoS soul wars, I remember Chapter Master Valrak felt disappointed by it when he went there as well a few others.

Haha only when you dispel it ;)

? the new endless spell image we where talking about

I laugh if it ends up being part of a surprise Firebelly release of all things.

TBH they didn't really announce anything I feel noteworthy at Warhammer fest IMO, Like Speed freaks probably would have been more exciting if it wasn't preview before hand and everything else seemed pretty minor. I thought they would have showed the Wulfen Dreadnought that I been hearing about.

I am guessing they saving the bigger announcement for Nova next week

  3. So the maximum amount of dice for weirdfist that you can use is 6 right? (5 unit + the Weirdnob), so on turn one i can average +18 range with another 6 on balewind and have about 42 inch cast range.

also if Foot of Gork is successfully cast does the extra mortal wound only apply on the first instance of the foot's damage or does the extra damage stays every time you successfully recast it on a 4+?

    Hi Guys,

I was watching Warhammer weekly and when discussing this weeks rumour engine the guys concluded that it was Grots. They thought the bugs were like the one the Fungoid Cave shaman has and that GW maybe steering in to the bug thing for Moonclan. Just say this is true. Could this mean that Spiderfang would be folded in to Moonclan? If so how would people feel about that? Could it mean that it won't be a Moonclan release but a general Grot release with a LoN style tome. or is this just reading a lot in to some maggots coming out of an armpit?

Like me know what you fellow think? What would you like to see?

I don't think they are going to merge the range since GW has been a bit adamant about keeping their army ranges separate as of late and I think Spiderfang have potential to be their own army distinct from Moonclan. the rumor mongering seems to strongly hint at a Moonclan release and not a General Grot release since the fungoid shaman is specifically Moonclan. What could happen though is that the Moonclan BT may have mixed army battalion like Braggoth's Beasthammer  for BCR where you can field spiders and other grot units and have synergy with them.

On another note on the Warhammer Weekly episode I did like the idea of a Troggoth infested with Maggots and being constantly earen and regenerating kind of cool if not a bit morbid.

Yes! I knew I was on right track with my Beasthammer battalion :)

But yeah, I can confirm that +1 is VERY nice to Beastclaw and makes Stonehorn great and more reliable.

There was a mistake in the list though, Troggoth Hag is now 380 points... So no endless spell actually.

Yeah his list was 20 point, so once he realize his list was illegal, he disqualify himself out of the tournament, apologize to the TO and ship his trophy back :(

  6. So they are becoming more like spiders, due to radioactive magic, eh? it like they are becoming Spider-Man or something.

Rampant speculation: I hope these Spider Grot can wall crawl, web sling, and have Spidey Grot senses that gives them -2 to hit while flinging sarcastic remarks at your enemies.

TK always struck me as a very random faction to kill off when one considers that the entire Fantasy range was selling poorly and yet TK were very distinctive and fairly popular in general - they'd even had quite a few semi-recent models. I'd have afar more expected something like Bretonians to go first. I hold the view that chances are if Kirby had remained in power we'd have seen more and more fantasy factions resigned to a point where fantasy would have become a boutique line of fantasy monsters and models rather than a miniature wargame line.

So I've often felt that TK have potential to be returned to the game at some stage. Of course the more undead factions GW releases with the new aesthetic the less chance there is of a full return; but a partial one could be possible.

With the whole multiple realms and realm gates approach of Sigmar its fully possible to introduce a means for TK to return. A mighty Pyramid that survived the end of the world; coated in magic and hanging in the depths of space; dislodged and drawn toward the plans of the realms when Slannesh breaks his bonds and is freed from his prison. TK crashing into one of the lands and spilling out to establish themselves in this strange new world hot on the heels of a huge Slannesh demon incursion.

A realmgate found mysteriously. Locked with magical runes that are broken by a mage seeking answers/power/discovery/escape. Only for it to open a portal into a strange and vast Citadel of unknown origin, from whence pours the mummified and animated undead defenders of that ancient civilization. Unable to close the realmgate now and yet driven to scourge the world and temple of any infestation of the unworthy who could risk damaging or harming their intombed gods within those dark stone walls.

And a million other arguments. The current Sigmar world is ideal for randomly adding new factions with super deverse backgrounds and visual asthetics.

I think TK where a fan favorite but not an army many people wanted buy and play in (especially since I always heard Ushabti where terrible despite being amazing models), neglect by GW didn't really help either

I remember I saw a list of Most played armies in WHF where I think Chaos, High Elves and surprisingly O&G where at the top and TK where at the bottom just on top of chaos dwarfs and Bretonnia.

What are your expectations for this year's GenCon? As much as I'd love to see some new minis I don't hype myself too much. It's probably still too early for anything new but if the rumours were true, and they are lately, we are still two factions short for this year and that would be a perfect event for that. But still I'd rather expect something small, like 1 new unit per GA.

I think at best Gencon is going have a tease of new releases but GW is going to save the actual reveal what it is at Warhammer fest Europe which  happen a few week later.

It could be a new fabius bile mini,  to be released with new emperors children... he’ll be wanting to experiment with the primarius marines I guess? I’m not that familiair with 40k fluff though...

Well Fabius Bile isn't part of the EC legion anymore since he left it to do his own stuff, I think narratively speaking he going to be use by GW to Make Primaris Chaos Space marine for Abaddon and the Black legion to get them on scale with their counterparts

Hmmm... looks interesting. I'm torn between Destruction (as it looks badly put together) and Chaos (because skin capes are in). Reminds me of Fabius Bile.

    Fabius's cloak, for reference:

My two guess would be a new Dark Eldar Archon or something related with the Tenebrael Shard from silver tower

  11. So I been thinking of starting a Bonesplitterz army and I made a list of what I wanted build up to:

Allegiance: Bonesplitterz - Mortal Realm: Ghur
    LEADERS
Wurrgog Prophet (140) - General - Command Trait : Squirmy Warpaint  - Artefact :  Mystic Waaagh! Paint  - Lore of the Savage Waaagh : Hand of Gork or Mork
    Wardokk (100)
    Wardokk (100)
    Wardokk (100)
    UNITS
    30 x Savage Orruk Morboys (300)
    30 x Savage Orruk Morboys (300)
    10 x Savage Boarboyz (200)
    BEHEMOTHS
    Aleguzzler Gargant (170) - Allies
    Aleguzzler Gargant (170) - Allies
    BATTALIONS
    Kop Rukk (200)
    Drakkfoot Warclan (140)
    ENDLESS SPELLS
    Chronomantic Cogs (60)
TOTAL: 1980/2000     EXTRA COMMAND POINTS: 2     WOUNDS: 195

Just looking for suggestions. I probably don't need two Gargants but since Colossal crusher comes with two I added them in.

  12. Well I don't think it a harp since those string have to be strung tightly on the frame and not hanging on the metal circular braces like in the picture or else it not going to make sounds.

But then again magic fantasy realm may triumphs how instruments would work in real life

According to people for the event where the Space Wolves and Orks codexes were announced, the Genestealer Cult codex is a while off but there’s some GSC models coming before (most likely the ones we saw at the weekend, tied to Kill Team, which is coming in July).

I could see Emperors Children being released this year, a-la Death Guard last year and Thousand Sons the one before, with AoS Slaanesh early next year (would fit with the pattern of the last couple of years).

I am not sure about a EC release this year since I feel like GW would release World eaters with Angron or new Black Legion with Abbadon first (along with another Loyalist Primarch) at least that what the 40k rumors has been mostly about.

How about the horned rat somehow interferes with the rescue of Slaanesh and they merge into one?  That will shake up some things .

I feel like that kind of move would just Enrage Skaven and Slaanesh fan more so then the Endtimes did for all of WHF Fans.

  15. 9 minutes ago, AGPO said:

Controversial I know, but I don't think Slaanesh will arrive for at least a year. The return of the lost chaos god is a massive event, and I can't see them doing it without first filling out their disappearance and what Malerion and Tyrion are up to. Also, doing it this close to the release of Soul Wars steals Nagash's thunder.

It possible since I think GW usually release the Chaos space marine equivalent first before the Daemonkin (1000 sons and then DoT, Death guards and then Maggotkin). if a EC release was on the horizon for 40k I would think a Slaanesh release would be not far behind but I am starting to think Darkoath may come first.

I'd be surprised if we saw a Slaanesh release before January as thats been the Chaos slot for Nurgle and Tzeentch previously. It would be very nice for Moonclan to make an appearance before then, although remember last year there were no battletomes after KOs from may til Nurgle in january! And the year before we had a gap between Sylvaneth in august and Tzeentch in january (albeit with BCR and Bonesplittaz released with no new models right after Sylvaneth). Heres hoping for better pacing this year!

Well last year was the 40k 8th edition and dark imperium releases and that took the majority of the slots of 2017 after KO was release.

this year has probably been the best year in terms of releases for AoS with Nurgle, LoN and the Harbingers, DoK, Idoneth, Soul Wars with SC and NH. and they have imply that there are going to be more new releases coming for all four GA hopefully for the rest of 2018

  17. I think the next big news  reveal is going to happen at Warhammer fest Europe in August at Dusseldorf.

I doubt they are going too reveal much at AoS opening day since they have announce so much new stuff already, I best I think there could be a Teaser trailers like at Adepticon with the Malign sorcery
