Meanwhile Gutbusters and Beastclaw Raiders are listed separately despite the fact that its fairly clear that they will most likely be rolled into one force (though that would be a major release for GW considering how many of the Gutbuster models are currently in resin - almost the entire army! )

Eh, I am not sure it that clear it could be just as unlikely, if we follow trends, Beastclaw and the Gutbuster have always been stated as different entry when AoS 2.0 came out by GW, unlike BoC and Gloomspite who where lump together to begin with.  Bonesplitterz and Ironjawz are also considered separate army too and I wouldn't want to merge them just because I consider it kind of lazy.

EDIT: So I just looked at the Snufflers warscroll again and they actually have the Grot keyword making them eligible for all the Moonclan Grot buffs. You could then theoretically have a unit of 15 which you buff up with all of the bonuses, not as good as a unit of stabbas but an important thing to know.

actually they are now max unit size of 18 for 210pts

Well I’m seeing that you have forgotten to name the best race in the entire realms, “Skaven”

they have access to literally every realm,

and they have a under empire represented in almost every realm.

I think he mean by battletome lore and fluff

They can't really do Grimgor...They can't really mention him really, just like Valten. They were from Storm of Chaos, the worldwide campaign where chaos led by Archaon were supposed to win, but instead lost badly.
Grimgor beat Archaon like archaon was a mucky puppy, let's not forget that.

    ?????

you do know what Made to order is right?

it has nothing to do with lore, it just old models from WHF being made one last time for collectors

Again, it's not something we can draw meaningful conclusions from. How significant 'selling out' of a product is is relative to how much of it you were keeping in stock in the first place. How many boxes did they actually have at the start of last year? 10? 10,000? We have no idea.

Why were they bought? Are people hungry for a religious fanatic faction in AOS, or was it just 40k players looking for parts for conversions? We have no idea.

I not putting anything on the rumor I am just hypothesising why people buy those certain, I know a lot people use that Flagellant set for the head and conversion and other buy it because Total War Warhammer Flagellant where pretty baller. of course you could have been the unlucky one who bought that army range because the Excesior Warpriest came out and people thought Devoted was going to be an army because of it.

Every large poll I have ever seen (as well as other evidence like popularity of TGA threads, FB groups, etc.) has Fyreslayers massively under-represented for a new army, and Idoneth somewhat under-represented for a new army.

In addition, KO, BCR and Dispossessed popularity (taking into account that the latter two are old lines, with lower expectations) all match my observations. Strangely, all three are currently noted as a bad and/or uncompetitive gameplay experience - although BCR were obviously hot in the GHB1 era.

In terms of those mentioned, the weird one for me is Devoted of Sigmar. Say, what...?

well BCR are noted to be one of the cheapest army to build and appease people that want the convivence of a lower count armies, plus they are good at stomping people in casual game environment

not sure about Devoted of Sigmar, could be people bought a lot of the War altar kit because it looks cool and it Volkmar.

I think it’s similar to flesh eater courts teaming up with vampires. The vampires want to kill everything (for different reasons then orks but still) and the flesh eater courts want to eat everything (although they are delusional lol). They can easily have similar goals and even have a similar culture in the way they treat monsters and how might makes right! They definitely have a different “footprint” but their are some similarities that could easily be put into a combined faction with added lore. For instance with Gloomspite non of those factions had anything in common... then they added the dank moon lore for everyone. It used to only be night goblins that worshiped the bad moon, in fact I’m pretty sure most stories have the different types of goblins as separate factions that only really come together when orks bully them. There is also the fact that gnoblars are cousins to goblins further increasing the similarities to each other. In fact I’m pretty certain orks and ogors have more in common then alot Of the death factions lol (their only real combined attribute is they are dead...)

Flesh eater are still their own thing separate from LON and Nighthaunt though and currently still are. also the big difference between Orks and Ogors are that one fight out of pure violent instinct other is because they are always hungry and need to fight to eat stuff. beside it look like those two ranges are being phased out right now.

In the end it really doesn’t matter if the poster-things  are somewhat human, or something different.

Afterall they are still quit good looking base decoration.

edit: although, if I had to choose something for the Sickmarines, I’d say that they are a part of the dead-things.

afterall, they are technically only beings, that had their soul left, which was then forged into a golden armor.

So no wonder Nagash hates Sigmar.

    Poster things?

I mean most people wouldn't know that

Hell I didn't know recently that Chaos space marine where born from human slave incubators, Skaven breed by having a one night stand with a Warp-laced naked mole rats, and Slann are aliens

  9. TBH most people I know in the hobby don't go to much into the lore and background to argue that Stormcast eternal or Space marines are not human.

it mainly oh a very muscular super sexy bad ass human in golden power armor, that is so awesome I want to have an army of them.

Unfortunately not, because it says "any".

You can stack it with the Snufflers though.

yeah I must have thought if bloodsecrator could do maybe they could but I believe they may have change bloodsecrator stacking when 2.0 came out.

it had the same wording as command abilities but command abilities are allow to stack since your using resources to activate it

They managed to make lots of different variations of ghosts... I'm sure they can create a ton of different ghouls if they wanted to.

Hell, given how the FEC are heavily influenced by medieval courts, some believing Nagash is their God, some hating him for what he has done to the carrion king, they could really do a cool expansion of "religious zeal"... Turning the narrative more into a power of the church (ie Nagash) vs power of the state (represented by the abhorrents).  It would be a near perfect reflection of the madness of medieval power struggles by the juxtaposition  of worship of Nagash as god vs military power of the courts. Getting that narrative of the rogue king who defied Nagash while the mordants still worship him, could really highlight the somewhat complex relationship between Nagash and the ghouls.... No direct control, but some form of it through other means.

Priests, bisschops, archbisschops carried on bone palanquins by crypt horrors, ghouls dressed in ragged clothing as flagellants , ghouls running around with femurs turned into blowpipes as representation of archers, catapults made out of carcasses wheeled in by these decrepit creatures etc. Make it looks and play more like a twisted version of a holy siege crusade .

Anyway, apologies for a bit of wish listing in the rumour thread.

I am predicting that they probably going to release Ushoran finally since he is currently the only Named character for FEC that running around in AoS and he probably going to be the head honcho for all the ghoul

  12. my opinion on the battleline are

Spider-riders are fast and mobile Glasscannon that need the most support and synergy from the other Spiderfang units, good build in abilities

Moonclan stabbas are the most reliable options, the have a lot build in support with their equipment, require them to be in large unit for max effectiveness

Troggoths heavy hitters good against tanky units, has a blend of shooting, defensive, and offensive abilities kind of expensive

Squig, cheap offensive choices not as mobile as spider riders but just as good Glasscannon output, doesn't have the greatest build in abilities like the others do.

If you compare the standard combat capabilities of each battleline unit I think thats why Squigs have less combat buffs than the other 2.

    A Grot is 1 attack 4s and 3s for 6.5pts per wound

A Spider is 2 ranged attacks at 5s and 5s, 1 melee attack at 5s and 4s and 2 melee attacks at 4s and 4s with 6s to hit being a MW all for 10pts per wound

    A Squig is 2 attacks 4s and 3s rend 1 for 5.83pts a wound

So just off a points per wound basis the humble cave Squig is beating the other 2 in combat naturally. What we are looking at is 24 wounds for 140pts, 20 wounds for 130pts and 20 wounds for 100pts. The Squigs being the most expensive option also has the best attacks without support from the Moon, spells or abilities.

That is the main difference between them and Spiderfang + Moonclan Grots, they dont need much support, they just do their thing from the get go, Once you start applying buffs to the other 2 options they start to outclass the Squigs but you can only every buff one unit with all the buffs unless you have CPs to spam abilities and you roll a 10+ to affect D3 Spiderfang units.

I understand they don't need much support but I feel like their offensive stats isn't really enough to chew through stuff fast enough unless your talking about the bounders (which I think are getting price increase), yes versus each other the squig are pretty good, but other faction out there have thing like negative to hit, ignoring rend and other things that prevent damage that the squig can fail to get damage in. I feel like you can't solely rely on alpha striking you opponent

  14. the thing with squigs is that there not as much combat buff for them compare to Moonclan and Spiderfang armies, the only two are the Mangler boss Command ability and Sneaky Snuffler. their thing is really hitting the enemy fast and as hard they can to do a lot of damage.

TBH I thing most competent army list probably has to have a backbone of grot infantry (or even trolls) to hold the back line sturdy and support.

Honestly look at Skaven - 90% of their forces are fearful ratmen who die in DROVES and who basically are just sort of nasty and easy to kill. If they can survive then surely humans can too.

Well their lore is that their so many of them that it be impossible to wipe them out completely, it kind of an written plot armor that they don't go extinct.

Are you sure Gortrek won't ascend to become a god in the future, or a god right now?

  16. well it only because their detachment is the cheapest in the game currently that every imperial army are begrudgingly have to use them in their list  hence why people complain about soup in 40k. it also the most efficient way to play Imperial knight is to have Imperial guard their for the CP fest, if they weren't considered such a necessity to play the game that they have to shoehorn into every army, they may not be as popular.

  17. So any ideas of what going to be reveal at LVO for AoS while we are all speculating about the need of a human faction and how distant the release is going to be

My guess would be the stuff they tease about in the Carrion Empire reveal (maybe new BT for FEC and Skaven), the remaining Nightvault Warbands, and a 17 second teaser of the next big AoS release

My Ironjawz could do with some GW lovin 😣 i think they are setting up Chamon as the next realm to be under the spot light, weve had Ashqy, Ghyran and Shyish explored. I think Ulgu will be uncovered more when Malerions Elves show up but Chamon is largely a mystery and i wouldnt have put the Gloomspites head honcho there, i would of gone for Ulgu myself so it seems like they want to expand upon Chamon a bit more which is nice. Lore of Metal and Beasts were always my favourite and then Heavans and Shadow.

also Carrion Empire is set up in Chamon too, so we have Flesh eaters, Skaven, Gloomsipite Gitz, all fighting in that realm currently So it seems that GW  is maybe hinting at something.
