Since we already know of 3 GA's getting tome this year (Gloomspite, Skaven, FEC), only Order is left. So all this announcment means is "You'll get at least Khorne and 1 order tome"
Not 100% sure if "Stormvaults" is a chamber. It would be a super freaking generic one. "Oh me, Just a Stormcast from the Stormvault chamber herp derp"I am not sure, I feel like by covering up the Chaos GA side of the banner it indicates that we would be getting 3 more BT for each Grand alliance.
At least that what the optimist in me would say.
-
I mean it would indicate that it be Gutbuster, soulblight, Stormcast, and Fyreslayer release this year
-
So Blade of Khorne Battletome, AoS warcry, soulwar continues and the Sylvaneth warband

I fully understand people who own pre-AoS factions that they want and need a battletome. I just don't want to make all-in-one factions that in my opinion no longer fit. Even Fyreslayers and Dispossessed although being dwarf are now very different and don't much. Not to mention Fyreslayers and Kharadron Overlords combo. That would be a monstrosity, not a combo-faction.
I think GW plans is kind of laid out on the AoS website about how they going to organize the army in the future with maybe the exception of lumping all the Aelf forces together. So far it been accurate minus the fact that Gitmob got axed from the grots.
I think they still keep Fyreslayer and KO separately, along BCR and Gutbusters, and Bonesplitterz and Ironjawz.

Power aside, I don't think it's a bad thing to have some armies be more complicated. Some people like the complexity.
yeah but you expect the complexity to equal better results when your playing them which is not what happen when you play KO and trying to use boats to do it. like DoK are complex and harder to master, but when you do you usually end up smashing face
and in casual play, people like drinking beer and rolling dices without thinking to hard

Why do you think casuals don't play them? You see casuals playing stuff like Aelves or StD. I remember some factions putting me off by seeming hard to transport or seeming easily damaged. I remember that was the initial feelings people had with skyships.
there rule set are kind of wonky and you have to remember a lot them when playing KO which still lead to less then steller mechanics and gameplay, they are definitely harder to play in a casual setting. also they are universally consider weak at the moment that even casual player are aware of it.
if you compare them to say Ironjawz, who are not exactly a top tier army, they have such easy to remember rules and mechanics and are considered fun to play that they even show up in tournament because people like playing them casually in that setting

I wouldn't call it pessimism. It's just that there's no real precedent for rewriting a proper battletome with allegiance abilities other than stormcast. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
well they said they botch the tome so it definitely not a proper battletome by any regards

Okay... but it probably won't get one. GW released errata. I'm sure that fix was good enough for them.
I am pretty sure that the last Errata made KO worser, and that lead to a lot people posting on their Facebook page about buffing them, during the GHB 2019 suggestion time
beside when KO was released I believe GW said that they where going to expand the KO range because they sold so well.

Sylvaneth underworlds warband has a dude with a bow.
I'm crossing my fingers that it may be a eventual new unit for sylvaneth. Cause cmon, literal tree elves without bows? That ain't right
Well the mini durthu guys have bows but I guess they don’t count

curious do they even sell the Warpfire teams anymore?

I don't even play FEC and the throne makes perfect sense. "Here is what will happen to you as it happened to all our previous enemies. We 'll sit on your damn bones."
Pretty straightforward for me
I doubt they have enough sanity to taunt their enemies with a random chair that they themselves have no idea where it came from

To be frank comparing the throne to say the Herdstone, Feculent Nurgle tree, Loonshrine, and the gloomtide, it is probably the weakest terrain feature design-wise.
But in the end it just a terrain feature, it just there to sit still and look pretty while giving you free buff. it not meant to be this piece that display amazing CAD sculpting technique and be the centerpiece representation of your army. it just there on the battlefield because you are heavily incentivize (almost force in a way) to field one
it just the lack of anything new and interesting that maybe it lackluster show a bit more but don't blame the throne for it.

As for the FEC the new guy will probably be six wounds with a 4 up save. One lucky shot from the Skaven hero and he is dead. End of problem.
Also we don't know points yet.
well there also Deathless Courtier saves but whatever
I more surprise that they made it more risky for the Skaven hero to supercharge Warp lighting if an enemy dispels it.

Haha I love how people have already decided this is it. No new models nothing. 24 hours ago we didn’t expect this box so soon, not to mention no indication of the books.
For every release they build up the hype with community articles revealing everything bit by bit. Usually starting off with a general one. So I’m going tot wait on those before despairing over no new models.
yeah but they usually at least tease us that there is more to come though. of course their is hope that there could be stuff at LVO in the end.
past experience would state that if there is a significant model releases coming GW usually have their graphic department make a trailer before revealing the Battletome.

, but yeah the really static ones like the Loonshrine and now this thing don't make as much sense. With my Loonshrine I assume my goblins are always defending and they live where ever the battle is happening.
it actually created by the bad moon every time it show up in the sky it rain down meteors onto the ground and apparently they just end up moon shape in the end
for the Throne, the Ghoul king probably just use magic to animate the bone into a chair shape throne and the pedestal area just happens to be there

This basically applies to most of the new scenery pieces. Who carries a Moon Shrine mountain with a cave in it and a 20 foot tall stone Monolith Herdstone?
Well the beastmen actually do lug that monolith everywhere they go and into battle
the moonshrine is actually created on the battlefield before hand via meteor fall by the da bad moon

I'll be purchasing almost everything available in the Skaven part of the release. I am curious to see if Poison Wind Mortars and Warpfire Throwers aren't usable however.
I would not know how they would put Skyre acolyte in considering how hard it is to get a unit of them in the field, rat swarm are the other thing I don't know if they will keep. I have a feeling that a lot of stuff won't make it into the tome.

thinking about doing a Gobbapalooza build, my plans is just hand of mork 60 superbuff grots with battleshock immunity, rerolling charges, fanatics, and +1 attack at the enemy. and if they all die I hope I can roll that 4 to get them all back when I need them

it was probably more for 40k this time around, which was to be expected given the fact that March was teased to be something big happening with the countdown and all
