  1. Decided to make a new list, but will be a little bit before I can test it. Would have to buy another Reaver box. Allegiance: Idoneth Deepkin - Mortal Realm: Hysh - Enclave: Dhom-Hain LEADERS Isharann Tidecaster - General - Command Trait : Born From Agony - Lore of the Deeps : Vorpal Maelstrom Volturnos, High King of the Deep Isharann Soulrender - Artefact : Aetherquartz Brooch Isharann Soulscryer - Artefact : Cloud of Midnight UNITS 9 x Akhelian Morrsarr Guard 6 x Akhelian Morrsarr Guard 10 x Namarti Reavers 10 x Namarti Reavers 10 x Namarti Reavers BATTALIONS Royal Council Quicksilver swords 2000 / 2000 What do you guys think? The Royal Council uses an Akhelian King, Tide-caster, and Soulscryer, but I now that I think about it, I'm not going to be able to use it. The King has to be the general and be within 3" of the Soulscryer and Tidecaster. So if I have to drop that... might not be able to take a battalion at all. If I did drop it, I'd add another unit of Reavers instead. Dhom-Hain Enclave Re-roll hit rolls of one for Akehlian and Namarti units when they make a charge move in the same turn. Deep Questors - reroll all failed wound rolls against monsters The Tidecaster is the general so that she can use her command ability to flip the Tides of Death rounds in turn 1 or onward if need be. If I flip them turn one, then it's high tide on turn 2. Soulscryer will deploy in reserve with the nine man unit of eels. Come onto the board from any edge Soulrender will help hold the Namarti Reaver screen, basically speed bumps as was suggested by Tom. But they're three units of ten each, I expect a unit or two to be able to lend support in later rounds of the game. Soulrender also has aetherquartz brooch to attempt to gain more command points Quicksilver swords are an endless spell that I took to help me snipe characters, which I seem to have a hard time doing sometimes with the units I have. I could also swap the 9 man unit in reserve with the 6 man unit, that way Volturnos can support them better. That's it basically.
  2. For the month of February, I pledge: - Finish 3 Half-Painted Akhelians and get them to 90% completion - Finish 3 more Akhelians - Finish 5 Reavers -Finish an Allopex or Two Have to admit, I got a lot of stuff done in January and I'm super stoked about that. Hopefully, I can keep up the momentum!
  3. @Casandora Yellow Thank you for the compliment, Casandora! Yeah I'm really enjoying just painting the Idoneth. Much more than Sylvaneth lol. I guess I'm not much of a landscape painter :P. I too am saving up for Lumineth😁. I actually just sold my Sylvaneth because I discovered recently, they play way differently than I imagined in my head :P. That, and you can kind of tell that I just never figured out a way to paint them in a manner that I liked. I kind of tracked back and forth from scheme to scheme, and not really liking most of them lol. Lessons learned though, should start small before diving all the way in. A couple of friends and I are going to start a path to glory / tale of four warlords soon, and I'm backing Lumineth. Hopefully the slower pace will tell me if I like the army before hand 😀. I have a good feeling about them though. Definitely going to reinvest in an airbrush for them and give them the most immaculate attention that I can!
  4. Just a few more details on the Tidecaster now! Started up another Reaver after a couple months haitus on them.
  5. @The Brotherhood of Necros That is absolutely awesome!!! Great work! So many great models getting shared this month! The new year's resolutions are strong with this thread😀.
  6. Just a note, these most recent Akhelians aren't 100% completed yet, they are sitting around 90% completion. Still have to wash and layer the skin, and then clean up, then work on the leather harnesses. Other than that though, I am pleased!
  7. Hi Acid_Nine, basically it's just redundancy. One Akhelian King can only be so many places on the board. Having two would also my forces freer movement, and still have the buffs from the Kings that they could definitely use. It's also useful in games where only wizards and heroes with artifacts score objectives. Plus, two Kings on the battlefield, I find, can completely turn combats on their head. Whenever my Akhelians flub in combat, sometimes a pair of Kings can completely change things around! There's not too many reasons behind it :). I just like the idea of a pair of kings :).
  8. I'm sure everyone here has seen all the possible varieties of Akhelian Lists, but I thought I'd throw mine on here to see what people think of it. I have a game against our hated nemesis: Hedonites, this weekend. Appreciate any advice Allegiance: Idoneth Deepkin - Mortal Realm: Ghyran - Enclave: Fuethan LEADERS Akhelian King - General - Command Trait : Born From Agony - Bladed Polearm - Artefact : Ghyrstrike Volturnos, High King of the Deep UNITS 6 x Akhelian Morrsarr Guard 6 x Akhelian Morrsarr Guard 3 x Akhelian Morrsarr Guard 2 x Akhelian Allopexes - Razorshell Harpoon BEHEMOTHS Akhelian Leviadon BATTALIONS Akhelian Corps TOTAL: 1980/2000 EXTRA COMMAND POINTS: 1
  9. Thank you! And thanks again for the suggestion! It's a far simpler process than having to layer the eel skin up several layers with layer paints.
  10. @Kramer Thanks, man!!! Looks like Kaaras was onto something with this washed out look. Once it starts coming together, it looks great, and it's a great deal easier than painting patterns!
  11. Ordered my basing materials! The official scheme of warriors of Clan Mugaren (spring!) Stage 2 Washes Dryer Tree-Spites! Painted portions of both armies are steadily growing!
  12. This army is so glorious! I rather like that you've kept the scheme colors relatively simple. You're far more disciplined than I :D.
  13. More schemes, in various early stages. EDIT: Dryer Kurnoth Hunter, still a lot of work to do on both of these. Not sure how I feel about the schemes yet, but I won't judge until finish lol.
  14. Army Update! So, I've acquired the last few kits that I need to complete my Deepkin lists. With the Christmas loot I received, my sylvaneth list are now officially complete. So, I'm done acquiring new stuff and shall be focused on painting what I have. I've also placed an order with Green Stuff World (huge order) for all of the basing materials I need + some of their special paints, which I have some ideas for. I hope to make some major progress before the Hysh Aelves drop!!! My new short term goals are thus: 1) Collect Hysh Aelves when they release 2) Build a small Sisters of Battle force - 500-750 points Lofty goals, but we shall see! Sorry for the weird angle on the last pic! I'm going to have to go back and touch up all the models in that box. I primed from a strange angle and the primer didn't cover the front as well as I thought it did.
