  1. This was especially felt as now Mawtribes are virtually immune to Mindrazor now. Being that any time they are within 3" of an enemy they add 2 to their Bravery. And that being most of them have base Bravery 6... They have steadily been increasing Bravery values across the board with each new Battletome.
  2. Yeah. Had to exchange the pot I bought for another one at my local GW. I have heard of it drying out quickly, so I plan on putting together my Thundercats before that happens. It works rather well, though. A couple of coats instead of globbing it in works better. And after it dries you can file it down smooth.
  3. Hey folks. Don't see too many hobby-related posts in here so I figured I would share my WIP Lord Arcanum on Thundercat. This is my first time sculpting fur in any large amounts so I think it turned out pretty well. This is just the start, however, as I plan on adding fur to most of my army to make them seem a bit more barbaric. Also, liquid greenstuff is a MUST for any push-fit models. Otherwise there are very obvious joints in odd places. Comments and criticisms welcome!
  4. Made some small tweaks to my list but I think this right where I want it. At least on paper seems pretty killy. Allegiance: Stormcast Eternals - Stormhost: Celestial Vindicators Leaders Lord-Arcanum on Celestial Dracoline (220) - General - Trait: Single-minded Fury - Artefact: Hammer of Might - Spell: Thundershock - Mount Trait: Pride Leader Lord-Castellant (120) - Artefact: Stormrage Blade Knight-Incantor (140) - Spell: Stormcaller Battleline 10 x Sequitors (260) - Tempest Blades and Soulshields - 2x Stormsmite Greatmaces 10 x Sequitors (260) - Tempest Blades and Soulshields - 2x Stormsmite Greatmaces 5 x Sequitors (130) - Tempest Blades and Soulshields - 1x Stormsmite Greatmaces Units 3 x Evocators on Dracolines (300) - 1x Grandstaves - Lore of Invigoration: Terrifying Aspect 5 x Evocators (220) - 1x Grandstaves - Lore of Invigoration: Celestial Blades 5 x Evocators (220) - 1x Grandstaves - Lore of Invigoration: Celestial Blades Battalions Cleansing Phalanx (120) Total: 1990 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 1 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 113 So maybe I am crazy, but I am going to try out this combo with my Lord-Arcanum. Being Celestial Vindicators I must take the command trait Single-minded Fury, which upon rolling an unmodified 6 to hit adds 1 to the damage of the attack. I believe I can give the Stormrage Blade to another character and be free to choose another artifact (due to Cleansing Phalanx) for my general as long as someone in the army has the Stormrage Blade. The Hammer of Might artifact, upon rolling an unmodified 6 to wound, doubles the damage characteristic of the attack. And the weapon profile for a Lord-Arcanum is damage d3. So while this gimmick is entirely dependent on rolling unmodified 6s, the potential for awesome damage is there, and seems worth the chance. Granted none of this would matter if my Lord-Arcanum whiffs their attacks, but I like the potential. This could also work similarly with the Blade of Endings from Shyish; the advantage with this artifact being that it takes effect on a 6+, and so could be used in conjunction with the Celestial Blades spell. What do you all think?
  5. I will now be shortening "Evocators on Dracolines" to "Thundercats."
  6. Hello friends. Been looking into taking the plunge into Stormcast Eternals. Mainly from a modelling standpoint I wanted to have a barbarian flavored Stormhost with lots of fur on their persons. But also I wanted to have high numbers of Sacrosanct units because I like the look of the models. Have not quite settled on a Stormhost yet, but I think I have a pretty good list built using the units I wanted to use. Allegiance: Stormcast Eternals - Stormhost: Celestial Vindicators Leaders Lord-Arcanum on Celestial Dracoline (220) - General - Trait: Single-minded Fury - Artefact: Stormrage Blade - Spell: Thundershock - Mount Trait: Pride Leader Lord-Veritant (120) - Prayer: Translocation Knight-Incantor (140) - Spell: Stormcaller Battleline 10 x Sequitors (260) - Tempest Blades and Soulshields - 2x Stormsmite Greatmaces 10 x Sequitors (260) - Tempest Blades and Soulshields - 2x Stormsmite Greatmaces 5 x Sequitors (130) - Tempest Blades and Soulshields Units 3 x Evocators on Dracolines (300) - 1x Grandstaves - Lore of Invigoration: Terrifying Aspect 5 x Evocators (220) - 1x Grandstaves - Lore of Invigoration: Celestial Blades 5 x Evocators (220) - 1x Grandstaves - Lore of Invigoration: Celestial Blades War Machines Celestar Ballista (110) Total: 1980 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 0 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 120 At least right now the plan is to buff the Lord-Arcanum and the Evocators on Dracolines because there are all kinds of attack buffs they will be getting. What I am contemplating currently is dropping out one unit of Evocators and the Ballista to beef up the Evocators on Dracolines to have a big dangerous unit. Rule of Cool is number one for me honestly, which is why I am taking a Lord Veritant because I want to use a Fenrisan Wolf as his free Gryph Hound, but also I needed to have a priest in the army as well. What do you think? Thanks.
  7. Throw Morathi at him. 480pt model to render a 520pt model useless for the rest of the game. Sure he's killy and tough; basically everything I hate about Fyreslayers in one model. Would he be a good anchor for an objective or something? Sure. Probably wouldn't use him for the same reason I usually don't use Morathi: 500pts for one model when I can get 20 Blood Sisters for the same price.
  8. Bloodwrack Medusa or Bloodwrack Shrine as your general with Blood Sisters as battleline is super effective. I frequently run two unit's of 20 Blood Sisters.
  9. I'll take the price discount but honestly they need to be less than Blood Sisters to really be worth taking. Otherwise for now the same cost I can still just take Blood Sisters. If they make Blood Stalkers battleline then that's a whole new animal.
  10. Mortal wounds on an unmodified 6 would help. Because basically character sniping is a no-go due to look out sir. They performed that task fairly well in 1st edition.
  11. As of yet I have not had anyone complain. All I have to explain is that it is a Hag Queen with Witchbrew and that is that. Most of the time as long as you explain what a converted model is at the beginning of the game then it is fine.
  12. Exactly! I made this Hag Queen from the Dark Elf Sorceress.

  14. Every single army has their cheese. Every single army has their competitive units and lists. The real question is what are you going to do about it instead of crying for points changes or FAQs? Just because DoK have prayers that can't be dispelled means they need to be nerfed? A smart opponent would target Hag Queens at the earliest opportunity to remove their abilities from the equation. DoK can be durable or extra killy, sure. But they get that from all their synergies together. Remove that synergy and you have some very fragile units that can crumble from sustained losses. Part of the game is learning how to adapt to what your opponent is fielding and react accordingly. I have never had a game where I said "I lost" during the first battle round. It's not over until it's over. So if your opponent brings cheese, then outwit them by playing to win the scenario above all things instead of worrying about unkillable unit #25. I think the fact of the matter is so few people have played against DoK that they don't know how to fight against them, therefore cries of cheese and nerfing.
  15. Sadly I do not even have Morathi built. While Morathi is strong, I suppose the main issue i have is for the same price as Morathi I can have 20 Blood Sisters. Which right now seems like the better investment in points.
  16. Alright folks. I have a tournament coming up in two weeks and these are currently the two lists that I have come up with. I have had success with both lists, but I also have some issues with them. Allegiance: Daughters of Khaine - Temple: Hagg Nar Mortal Realm: Aqshy Leaders Bloodwrack Shrine (220) - General - Trait: Devoted Desciples - Artefact: Ignax's Scales - Lore of Shadows: Mindrazor Hag Queen (60) - Artefact: Iron Circlet - Prayer: Blessing of Khaine Hag Queen (60) - Prayer: Catechism of Murder Battleline 20 x Blood Sisters (480) 20 x Blood Sisters (480) 20 x Witch Aelves (200) - Pairs of Sacrificial Knives Units 5 x Blood Stalkers (160) 5 x Blood Stalkers (160) Battalions Temple Nest (130) Total: 1950 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 2 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 143 So this list has the Temple Nest battalion. The huge benefit of this list is of course having a battalion makes this list only four drops. I have had good success going first as Daughters of Khaine as it lets me put up buffs (especially witchbrew) first before my opponent goes, and then secondly have a higher chance of going first again in the second battle round. Using the speed of my many snakes it lets me get an early hold on objectives and forces my opponent to react. The downside is having to pay 320pts for Blood Stalkers, which do have their uses but are not the greatest use of points. Allegiance: Daughters of Khaine - Temple: Hagg Nar Mortal Realm: Aqshy Leaders Bloodwrack Shrine (220) - General - Trait: Devoted Desciples - Artefact: Ignax's Scales - Lore of Shadows: Mindrazor Hag Queen (60) - Prayer: Blessing of Khaine Hag Queen (60) - Prayer: Catechism of Murder Hag Queen (60) - Prayer: Sacrament of Blood Bloodwrack Medusa (140) - Lore of Shadows: The Withering Battleline 20 x Blood Sisters (480) 20 x Blood Sisters (480) 30 x Witch Aelves (270) - Pairs of Sacrificial Knives Units 5 x Doomfire Warlocks (160) - Lore of Shadows: Shroud of Despair Endless Spells Quicksilver Swords (20) Total: 1950 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 1 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 154 Now the biggest issue with this list is drops. At nine drops I will most likely be going second. Which is alright, but I just prefer to go first so I can buff my units before my opponent can do anything about it. The large advantage with this list is more spell casting abilities and also more flexibility. Three casts/unbinds will be helpful to give me options but also to help shut down opponents in the hero phase. Also the advantage with this list is giving my opponent too many targets to worry about. As much as I like using Blood Stalkers and the Temple Nest I feel like only having one spellcaster will hamper my effectiveness against other opponents. Especially when I have to be prepared to face a variety of different armies. But anyways, any feedback is welcome.
  17. I say switch out the Slaughter Queen for two Hags with Witchbrew and that should bring you right to 1000pts. That is a good start though.
  18. Hags and Witchbrew are essential. Of course our prayers are important, but Witchbrew is very powerful and helps keep your units from crumbling too quickly.
  19. Recently I've been using the Temple Nest as our army can get drop heavy very quickly without a battalion. Having the enemy inflict mortal wounds on themselves is hilarious, but would be better if you didn't have to take the 320pt tax for two units of five Blood Stalkers. They're ok, but not amazing. They are great at taking and holding back field o objectives while the rest of your army chops up the enemy. Currently I use two 20 snake units of Blood Sisters, 20-30 Witches depending on points, Bloodwrack Shrine, and 2-3 Hag Queens, again depending on points. As for my Bloodwrack I tend to switch up her artifact depending on who I am facing, but my 2nd artifact is usually the Iron Circlet for one of the Hags, the one that has Blessing of Khaine. Because I usually run Hagg Nar I have one unit of 20 Blood Sisters get buffed up and be a distraction while the other units go do their stuff. Has been pretty effective this far.
  20. All snake lists are super fun to use. If you're running Khaelibron you're better off using smaller units of snakes for teleport shenanigans, where huge blobs compliment other temples like Hagg Nar. I've had good success running 3×10 Blood Sisters and 2×5 Blood Stalkers, a Bloodwrack shrine, and then whatever else you want to fill up your points. Khaelibron is great for objective games to let you get troops right where you need them.
  21. Nurgle is usually a pretty tough match up. Whenever I face armies that I won't be able to just kill faster than they can kill me, my advice is to focus on the senario. Also, in my opinion it is worth sticking by his trees and taking potential mortal wounds in order to shut down the summoning point generation.
  22. As long as the weapons they are equipped with is obvious, and you tell your opponent what the unit is, I doubt that would be an issue.
  23. If I'm using the Temple Nest, the Blood Stalkers are great for holding back line objectives and threatening characters outside of Look Out Sir range. I love the models, so it is a shame they are not more competitive. Still, they do their job and have yet to cost me a game. It just sucks having to invest 450pts for the Temple Nest. Masses of snakes and Hag Queens works well for me. But I've been wanting to mess around with Khaelibron again, but that works a little better with smaller units so you can actually fit them outside of 9."
  24. In general I have found going first beneficial for my Daughters, as we can get our buffs out and have a higher chance of going first on the second battleround. The Temple Nest, while an expensive point investment, has been pretty helpful when playing against small drop armies, as one or two Hag Queens can start to add up in drops. Basically what sucks about the Temple Nest is having to include 320pts of Blood Stalkers. They are just ok, but it is nice when they are able to finish off a unit or big creature.
  25. Both lists were Hagg Nar. I must admit Hagg Nar is by far my favorite temple now, simply because it caters to having maxed out units better than Khaelibron does. Well, and you know. REROLLS. I know the topic of what temple is "best" has been beaten to death, but my question is what about the other temples when it comes to the competitive scene? What has worked and what has not worked? Recently I have been playing a Path to Glory campaign with my cousins and we have balanced the unit selections with points to make it a little more fair. I must say it is fun to take something different without being required to take a temple command trait. Draichi Ganeth is an interesting temple in that you are not required to take a command trait, only an artifact. And if you do not take a Slaughter Queen, you are not required to take The Darksword, freeing up other options for your general. In the Path to Glory campaign I have a Bloodwrack Medusa as my general, and let me tell you, Mistress of Poisons for a command trait is absolutely brutal! And being able to choose the artifact you want and still getting the small benefit of the Draichi Ganeth army benefit is great.
