  1. No problem :)

In general basic STL/3MF are the best to provide as they are basically just the models with no supports or anything, they can thus be used with any slicer software or for any printer. Chitibox Project saves and Lychee files are specific to those software options - though those two types at least keep supports and model separate (the user can open them up, remove supports and save as an stl to then edit in another slicer).

You can find the files following this link:

Just a little disclaimer, some part requires a good load of work to make them fit together properly, some pieces needs to be cut a little bit and other parts would also need some additional sculpting job to fit to the model (the transition between wings and main body for example was a huge mess to make).

    Have a great day!

It's utterly fantastic that you're willing to give away your dragon files - however you've uploaded the cbt files. Which makes them near useless for anyone using a different resin/printer to yourself. Pre-sliced files just don't work for others using different systems - eg you've got your exposure time set to 10seconds per layer which suggests you're using an RGB screen, so anyone on a monoscreen using 2-3 second exposures is going to be very overexposed.

Much easier to upload the files as either STL or 3MF (lychee now supports 3mf and 3mf offers smaller file sizes by far and better data storage in terms of curved shapes over STL, though STL is still the current standard). Then people can adjust the printer and exposure settings as required.

I'd also recommend uploading either the basic parts or if you want to provide pre-supports then upload as a lychee save or a chitubox project save. That way the supports and model are separate entities - which means people can adjust the supports as required. Since sometimes different resins and printers can require slight adjustments to help things print well. Eg anyone using Zmud resin will likely need to add more light supports to help it print; meanwhile some printers exert more pull force on parts than others so sometimes require slightly thicker tips in key anchoring positions to increase the hold.

  3. Actually over the last few years we've had pre-release information that typically covered around 3 months from GW. Sometimes that would mean that it would be all one major game or the other, but typically it contained stuff for both. Actual long term roadmaps are a new thing GW is sort of trying out - they experimented with them in Necromunda and the only hiccup that I could see is that corona started and messed up the release time line.

Otherwise GW tends to like to play it close, 3 months or so is typically the window they let us see.

  4. That killteam set has plastic Deathcorps of Krieg. It's going to sell out in seconds no matter how much stock GW produces. The only thing that would slow its sales is if GW confirms and gives a release date for plastic infantry boxed sets and that might only dull the frustrations of those who don't get a set.

  5. It's been a pattern with all the current edition codex for 40K and its something I hope a lot of people complain about. I really loved seeing the Tyranid codex grow over the years from a few pages of lore in the 3rd edition to 100 pages ni the current but losing the unit description pages is a big blow. They set the scene for the army; they give units a sense of identity and character beyond their functionality .

  6. And now you know why GW keeps comments off on youtube videos. It's mostly just in reaction to GW enforcing its IP on content creators making videos they get paid/donated too. It's a blip and once warhammer + lands and once its been a week or two it should all blow over

  7. From what I've seen GW is more likely to pull codex/battletomes from sale entirely whilst old model stock is normally just left to dwindle out until the very last moment. Which makes sense, old clan rats (or whatever) still work even if new ones are released; its really only the battletome/codex/rules that becomes totally invalid.

  8. Even as a fan of skaven I'd say if  Cities and Skaven came alongside I'd 100% want Cities to get more attention. Whilst Skaven DO need attention its mostly in terms of updating models to plastic. Skaven have a really diverse and varied force right now. They've a sweet spot for choice.

Cities just needs more attention, even if it might come with model loss I'd hope it would come with a big solid update to the human side. It would also be neat to see them clean the elf and dwarf sides up more. Elf wise we've got mostly the whole dark elf army nad a few dregs of the others; meanwhile dwarves are bitty, but still fairly well there.

  9. GW likely knows from past experience that

    1) Internet "uprisings" often last a few days at most. They CAN be damaging if people start targeting actual staff/people with hate mail, but if its mostly grumbling in vidoes and on forums and such it will burn itself out even if nothing changes.

    2) Actual sales are different to "online veto sales". GW sees the actual sales data not just one or two people not buying for a month. So they can measure the impact (if any) on sales directly.

    3) Much of this will fizzle on its own once Warhammer + lands. Assuming Warhammer+ is priced, marketed, managed well etc...

    4) There's a segment of the news online that focuses on the negative and lives ot whip up a "storm" online. Sometimes the most powerful way to fight that is to not play the game. Ignore them and keep doing what you're doing. All the rumour and theory and possible "evil" things that those sites talk about all become nothing if they never actually happen.

Swear to god GW needs to do a preview ASAP! We're going mad and going over old info and speculation in the hope someone has something that resembles concrete.

In fairness we go mad on such things about 5 mins after GW does a preview anyway ;)

I see, I don't know how I feel about all this. GW are within their rights to protect and monopolize their IP, especially now that they as a business, are moving into animation. It's not surprising that they would do this, as most businesses do not like other people making money off their IP's.  The fan creators can get around it in some way, by using patreon I guess By using the "they are supporting me as a person, they are not paying for the animation" argument. But I'm not a lawyer.

I don't think they can get around it like that. Patreon isn't a sneaky way to get free money. If it was fan creations would have been taking "donations" for years.

That said also don't forget GW might also be looking to licence their IP for videos. So instead of just hiring people to make videos for them, they might also want to have the option for animation studios to approach them for a licence to make a film/animation. Just like they do for video games. In that light they can't have fan creations doing it for free.

Honestly GW have been good over the last few years in allowing fan creations to profit at all; the vast majority of IP owners don't make videos and would never dream too ,but wouldn't have allowed fan videos to profit anyway in the way that they have with the GW IP.

It does become complex and fan payment systems have changed the field of play significantly.

To date, how many animators has GW actually sent a c&d to?

To date they've not sent any takedown requests. They've only made an offer to work for them or take monetizing down on any fan works. Which honestly is a very fair move. They are not removing fan content in the least, simply reinforcing that they own copyright over the IP material and that fan works must be just that - fan works without any earning attached to them. But if the creator wants to they can choose to earn from the video by working for GW and then their video will appear on Warhammer + - and lets face it Warhammer + is likely to get a huge viewership from GW fans alone.

In fact GW was very lenient allowing fan works to profit for as long as they have done and its only the rise of youtube paid ads and services like patreon which have even changed the fanworks region to something that can casually be made to turn and income and even profit. Normally most fan videos are like fanfiction - its fun hobby stuff that never earns a penny

  14. Only FW and GW know and honestly FW has shifted so much over the last few years they might not even know. All we do know is that FW has generally gutted the AoS line of models several times over the last few years. Right now is NOT a good place with regard to them. Heck even the GW social media team forget about them (I recall an article on exalted greater demons which didn't even mention the FW models once). Whilst the 40K side is pretty solid, the AoS side is very shaky.

The rules and points are done by Gw, but the most recent Generals Handbook has no entries for any of the FW stuff.

  15. I don't expect an army to get a release until GW says they are getting a release. I've been following GW for long enough to know that you cannot predict. Perhaps Ossiarchs get a second wave; or they get drip fed models; or they never get anything for the next 10 years - anything is possible. You can only take it on face value as what you get.

Trying to guess what might get a release and the nature of that release is impossible. No one guessed Ossiarchs would even happen until they happened; everyone expected Luminieth and Malarion to be around much sooner than they have. Its impossible if you're on the outside of GW's system to predict.

So just go with what you get when you get it :)

  16. Or a good one - I'm happy with the Slaanesh second wave :)

I think the only issue I have is the two special character models they released a few weeks later through Broken Realms and then the point shift in 3.0 all VERY fast after the new battletome. But a new Tome with a halfdozen to a dozen more models is a good upgrade in my view even after a year. Big chunky updates are fine in my book, its small drip-fed ones RIGHT after release that I dislike a bit.

Plus at a functional level GW can only release so many models in one go for an army before players hit a practical limit of buying and building/painting in one go. If they released 30 new models in one big go yes its a huge release, but most of them won't sell all that well because people have finite buying power. But if they split them into several smaller big releases they can get much higher sales because now you're not burning out in one big go.

  17. MODERATOR NOTICE

We are going no where productive nor constructive arguing about which army should get what. I think its time to let that debate rest and get back to news/rumours and such. If you really want to continue talking about GW's release plans you can start a separate thread on the subject.

  18. Finally no high-backed-armchairs 😜

Awesome model and honestly GW are really doing something grand in having them not just mounted but also in a flight pose - something that's even rather rare in 3D printing (there's a lot of standing/grounded dragons, far fewer in flight).

I really hope we see other big models like that and other dragons outside of Stormcast  because whoever they have sculpting them now is really doing a grand job!

  19. Alright people lets take a pause and chill for a second.

We all have things we'd like GW to focus on and to do for our armies or armies we want etc... There is no sense in getting into a fight because fans predict that certain things might or might not happen and the order in which they might happen. It's all just fan theories and guesswork and dreams.

  20. The elves for AoS are getting as much attention as Chaos (4 separate gods armies). The key is that each elf army is very different functionally and visually. Marines all share the very same core design styles and even the same core models. They then adapt with a few unique options per chapter and some unique heroes.

Daughters of Khaine are visually, functionally and model range wise totally different to Lumineth and both are totally separate to Idoneth etc.....

  21. And by means of giving an update (whilst managing to achieve nothing much at the same time :P ) behold my super rough slaanesh plan

    https://pileofpotential.com/Overread?project=91068221

And no that is not all that I plan for this project that's just the messy sorta overarching plan for everything Slaanesh! But it gives you some idea of my strengths (buying and building) and my weakness (everything after that!). So I will do a proper one of these for starting the army.
And now for the start of a force, which going by the rules the smallest forces are now 750 points (the rules don't actually have an entry for 500).

    https://pileofpotential.com/Overread?project=27979903

Got to amid I still find the whole "reinforcements" side to army building overly complex and limiting. I get why GW does it and I see the bonus in allowing more varied units and options for middle weight units to get a place in the army without always being overwhelmed by big full compliment troop blocks, but gosh darn it "troops" of just 10 models with command just seem visually wrong to me. Then again GW has been cutting banners from infantry units, so perhaps the next generation of deamonettes won't have banners and we'll get a generic banner hero instead. Which makes far more sense its just likely a good 10 years off :P

Still as my core weakness is paint this beginning of demonic incursion is simple; deamonettes for the most part. Something to cut the pincers on in terms of painting. Not that diverse, not that interesting and perhaps even a touch simple narrative wise. Yet from small starts do great things arise

So first step - clear the desk and find my rattlecan of primer! The Grey shall become the White (wizard?!)
