You seem to intentionally misunderstand the rule, yes. First of all it doesn’t say ”After set up, when models are touching base with 2 other models get shining company”. It says ”after set up[..] if the base of each model[..]then that unit becomes a shining company.”

it then also clearly state that you lose the bonus as soon as you move out of formation.

While you are technically correct that the entire game takes place after set up, the ”after set up” in the rule is clearly a trigger for when they gain the rule, not something meant to say ”hey this applies for the entire game” because if the rule was meant to work anytime you moved into base contact it would have said that, not used this overly complicated writing instead.

Intentionally? If it was intentional why would I ask the question in the first place? I’d have taken my interpretation and go merrily on my way.

I appreciate the clarification So thank you but you could do with working on not coming off so condescending To someone asking a simple question.

  2. i'm fairly new to AoS proper but i'm confused as to why so many people seem to think you can only get Shining company upon setup?

The rule doesn't state "if the unit is set up base to base get shining company" it states "After set up, when models are touching base with 2 other models get shining company" Any turn during the game is "after set up", why can i not Turn 1 be shining, turn 2 move and charge, turn 3 move back base to base to get shining company. It is still after set up?

    Am i just being dim?

Is anybody else worried about all the thin and fiddly bits being delicate or snapping off in transport? How are you all planning to work around this for transport and display?

Those spears and ribbons look like a nightmare. I’m going back and forth with myself over this and 40k indomitus and continuing my tau or starting a cities of Sigmar force eventually haha

That is some hella broken english "increase the balance of the weapon by 1"

I appreciate i'm a monolingual neanderthal but could someone with mastery of both languages make the above easily understood? ❤️ I'll love you forever

Im sure we could turn this into a fluffy forum post book, Mod permission willing of course but it would be fun to have a place to throw idea's around. Speeking of which, anyone got any draft idea's on what they are looking to do with their army yet based on what we know so far?

Archers ringed by the Sigil of Yngra so people have to come up and deal with them so i can flank with cavalry While Teclis flies around shouting "lightning bolt" and smiting people

Not necessarily. Stormcast evocaters can only cast empower or the select spells from the stormcast book but not endless spells. As cool as an image of a group of spearmen forming a circle and reciting the rituals of petrification is, it may be a bit above their skill level.

Fair and more balanced but slightly disappointing

  7. So just a thought...Any wizard can attempt to cast an endless spell right? doesn't that mean all our battleline units can attempt to cast an endless spell?

I'm just envisioning either the rune (for that -1 to hit stacking with shining company) or casting the Rune of petrification  on a unit you're locked in combat with

I read that the second bonus of -1 rend (to -2) is from Ymmetrica. Seems to be a batallion or Sub-faction.  of course, that's still ar rumor, so better wait for the whole picture.

From the screenshot of the Army list there wasn't a Battalion posted so I don't think it'll be that, it might be an Aetherquartz abilitiy that comes as part of the Faction rules...Remember when they announced the hammerers they said they would be "very hard to shift in mountain stance" or something similar.

  9. Thanks @Gecktron

Thats what I love about the mortal realms, there's a bunch of choice to really make your guy unique!

I didn't really know how much Aqua to give the lion as his starting Kit is quite powerful so I was probably thinking in the region of 30.

For the assassin..I agree 110 might be much, but then again when creating stuff from scratch you get 200 Drops to buy equipment with, its possible the 110 is what is left over after everything given too you!

well, since Ol' Elthy isn't an endless spell, we can't send him via the mirror. But, we can use the bridge to teleport him 12" up, and we can use the cogs to make him run faster.

Duh, been so long i knew there was a way of getting over there. Though an argument could be made that as Teclis brought him and bound him to his Armour he is spellcraft >.> (no i'm just thick and deflecting shhhh)
