Also the neferata shrine would be a lot cooler if it didn't look like it a was a meme about "the only place people look on this model heh heh heh". Probably because of the downward angle more than anything else. Actually a quick look at neferata actual kit shows that the sculptor decided her cleavage window wasn't big enough and plunged the neckline...

Turns out I'm already so tired...

Hmm.. you must be new to this internet thing to perceive this as revealing cleavage.. 😆

    36 hours to go!

Such exciting times, lizards, cites, space hulk, Ogors on the rumour engine, 10th Ed 40k, The Old World, more kurnoth stuff.

I knew 2023 was going to be good hobby wise but didn't know this good!!

Hold your enthousiasm guys and gals, it’s fun to get excited but this isn’t a fact, it’s still wishful thinking. Best to expect little and be pleasantly surprised. Kurnothi, for instance, received the mention of “something soon”. Were it to be revealed at Adepticon, i would assume “VERY soon” would have been said.

    Same with TOW…

(I know.. I WANT to be excited too)

Just be patient... Something is coming soon

Doubt it would be another underworld warband again, and a “surprise heres a kurnothi army for AoS” seems very unlikely this year; i would assume a warcry warband?

    thanks for the info Whitefang!

Chaos dwarves are a "when" not an "if" for AoS. outside of the little background snippets about them in the lore we have both the Horns of Hashut warcry warband, which confirms hashut is still around in the mortal realms, and hobgrot slittas in kruleboyz who work as intermediaries between the kruleboyz and the hobgrot's "dark masters". The hobgrots armor and weapons do not at all match the rest of the Kruleboy line, and they even have grenades.

Who knows when they're coming, but they definitely are.

Remember the Kurnothi?  …me neither 😞

  5. Chaos dwarf in total war saddens me as it somewhat kills the odds we see their incarnation in AoS. It does open the door for the Old World return, but lest be honest before new chaos dwarf kits come out it will be many years, probably after the initial enthousiasm for the old world and well into the dark years of dividing  the fantasy community in two, hurthing both. Those will be dark times…

  6. A S2D battlebox with Gitz makes no sense to me. Brand new S2D army box, new models shown, and no hero entry in the battletome is lacking a model. These battleboxes always bring a new hero at the least to drive sales, I don’t see a new hero being added to a battletome that isn’t technically released yet.

gits vs something else? (FeC?) Possible, but I question ANY battlebox being released before Xmas this year considering what little time is left.

  7. With regards to next AoS faction updates, we tend to get a range update per … 4? books.

Considering the numerous RE about seraphon, I would guess that Seraphon get the next range update. Since we just got S2D as a big update, hot on heels of Votann and IG which brought in a lot of new sprues (and thus factory time), I would venture the following guess (*tinfoil hat ON)

Q1 2023: Gitz, Blades of Khorne and KO each with minimal updates (slap a new hero and out the door you go; 40k getting World eaters major sprue allowance)

Q1.5: mandatory yearly DoK update :P

Q2: seraphon big update, FeC and SBG on the short stick

Q3: omens arc for 40k and 10th eathing all the production space here. BoC short stick (same cruel treatment as skaven). SGL shortstick

Q4 Isn’t it about time we get another Lumineth tome? Also, new Cities of sigmar big release. Talk about a new faction for 2024, my money being on “Coalition of Hashut” chorfs in Q2 2024.

    Lets discuss!

  8. On another topic, S2D leaks, there is a recent picture showing Archaon and many many warriors (2-page spread). Sorry I can't post this picture as I believe it would violate forum rules (correct me otherwise). Upper left corner of this picture, near Archaon's wings, we see a Chimera-type creature with a model on it. The beast seems to have 2 heads (third would be hidden perhaps), and I don't recognize that model from the old "Lord/sorceror on chimera. Would a keen eye who knows what picture I am referring to tell me if this is a new, unseen model, or some old model I just could not find on the webstore?

I've not seen the warscroll yet, I'm sure others will elaborate, but thought you'd appreciate a swift response.

Their rules for AoS are plain, rather lackluster and uninspired. Maybe I want chorfs to be interesting too much though…

My list of things that I think they are going to reveal:

    • 40K:
      • Chaos Space Marines with a bunch of new possessed models (including the silhouette)
      • League of Votann first look.
    • AoS:
      • New campaign book/General Handbook 2022.
      • Sylvaneth: Lady of Vines + Insectoid cavalry unit
    • Kill Team:
      • Traitor Guardmen
      • Ordo Hereticus
    • Necromunda:
      • New Roadmap
    • Warcry:
      • New edition like Kill Team 2: Box with a Chaos camp (using the horn rumour engine)
      • Eshin Night runners
      • Non-Chaotic faction
    • Warhammer+
      • AoS model (Chaos Sorcerer)
      • 40k model (Chaos Terminator)
    • Horus Heresy
      • Full box reveal

I think you are right on the money on about everything. I’m not convinced on the eschin night runners but it’s a fair guess. I also expect 2 units for Sylvaneth as WC mentionned unitS for aos. Archer tree-revenants and some cavalry are my guesses. The horn is clearly on a small piece of scenery/tower made of stakes. Sorry BoC; warcry terrain sounds right.

WH+ showed that the other model from the sorceror is a khorne terminator, based on the Mark Gibbons art of olden days. So the AoS model has to be this sorceror.

Not sure what a full day of AoS (or 40k) means; they have about 1-2hrs of video content to show, then what?

  11. I am contemplating making an AoS 3.0 army with 4 mega gargants. As I am just starting to read about this army, I thought I’d gather thoughts on the viability of such a list. Can it be somewhat competitive in your opinion? What 4 mega garbants would you pick i. 3.0?

    thanks for sharing!

If it makes you feel better all the updates are free through FaQs

Why would we suddently believe a wildly debatable shortlist of rumors from an unknown source, listing controversial items from “a close friend” as though being close to soneone makes them credible🤨

I wouldn’t worry about invalidating entirely the entire Broken Realms content so quickly after release, I find this not only too drastic, but essentially cloning the 40k model. If I wanted to play the 40k ruleset, I’d play 40k.

pretty sure all rumor said it was going to be release in July

The video of spoilers claims thir source stated box set in June with advanced rulebook, and official release in July. I also share skepticism for June; with how crammed their revealed new models are, coupled with a second release hiatus, I doubt they can cram soulblight, kragnos, kroak & BR book(s?) AND new boxset for 3.0 by end of June...

hoe about bella slaps arky about and makes him go away, thereby leaving him to sit on the empty throne.. (or arky makes him think that's what he's achieved because he neess to leave anyway for a busman's holiday...)

    Which leaves arky to:

Not be lord of eightpoints, so he can go on vacation  and...

Go off and do behind the scenes big bad guy stuff like have a nice chat with slaanesh, who gets free... and who then allows arky to have a new model with an even bigger doorguard sporting the fourth head of slaanesh to complement the other three and a new price point of 125 bones.

Arky comes back 125 bones mightier, as does nagash who has been scheming to build himself a new model with an even bigger hat as his paled into insignificance in the face of Ticklelfs big hat, and they have a bella style menacingly  heroic pose, not some leaping kitty floaty wafty happy meadows pose, with which to come back and make the vampires and bella realise that they just went on an extended break and left them to do all the acconting / tax returns / take out the rubbish and mow the lawn type boring stuff.

(dis) Order is then restored in the story-arc-to-model-o-sphere, and cements the truth that the cost of all this cosmic balance ran in multiples of 125 bones.

This. This is the backstage insight I come here for.

    Gluttos - 400

Chaos Lord on Karkdarak - 230

    Chaos Warriors x 5 - 90

    Chaos Warriors x 5 - 90

    Blissbarb Archers x 11 - 160

    Slickblade Seekers x 10 - 400

    Slickblade Seekers x 5 - 200

    Blissbarb Seekers x 5 - 180

    Seeker Calvacade - 140

    Geminids - 60

    Command Point - 50

    2000/2000

Had some games with the casual list, time to move toward the competitive side.

The Seekers being monopose kills me. Had Syll'esske in addition as the list is hero light, but the block of 10 Seekers is just too good as a general threat. Even outside of pile in shenanigans it can alphastrike something and smash it to pieces.

Summoning in an Enrapturess turn 2 is almost always amazing. She generates DP almost guaranteed with her shot, messes with opposing casters, serves as a 4th summoning anchor point...it just really sets you up for a good turn 3.

Chaos Lord on Kark having a +3 save is the only reason I take him. The command ability letting him be at +2 save on command has been hugely clutch and lets him use his maneuverability to essentially be an anvil to low threat melee chaffe that look to bully fringe objectives. On paper this guy should be slightly less survivable than Sigvald but the difference between +3 and +4 save when dealing with rend in addition to saving 30 points and 9 wounds vs 6...yeah. I stick with this boy.

Blissbarb Archers are sort of being slept on imo. 3 sets of 5 warriors is just so bad in my experience. The Archers die to a stiff breeze, sure, but if they don't... they just generate such disgusting amounts of depravity every single turn. 160 points is expensive in a vacuum but paying 70 points to turn a do nothing unit into "answer me or my summoning currency is seeing a 20% boost"...well suddenly a single block becomes no brainer. But only so many units exist on the table to be shot at, so absolutely never take more than a single unit of these.

In shorter terms: you are hard pressed to find a more effecient way to spend 70 points and gain a high tier threat.

Likewise, Slickblades only have so many targets to charge due to board size. Subbing 5 for a unit of Blissbarb Seekers that can jockey for weaker held flank objectives and still contribute depravity every turn is kind of mandatory in my experience. The catch is 20 wounds for 180 points is an insane steal, so unlike Blissbarb Archers whose only justification is that they fill a battleline requirement, the Seekers are just flat out a points effecient tar pit.

For the record I have never found myself hating a battletome more. I have learned a lot and would say my win rate is about 50% now whereas it was 30% in the first month. But the wins require squeezing blood from the stone, manipulating battlefield space and anchoring your strategy around two very unfun mechanics (-1 to hit spam/stacking and the much discussed Calvacade pile in), and rarely feel fun for me or my opponent no matter who is winning.

I did read the responses to my last post and am absolutely thrilled that this book is working for many of you. But I will probably bow out and simply lurk, to avoid being a negative nancy. Figured I would contribute my final thoughts on a list and how we play.

Thank you for your insight! Your list is exxentially what I was pondering about to play casual/semi competitive. You really addressed my ponderings wonderfully.

Would you consider enlisting an enrapturess as a starting hero?

what are your thoughts, within the confines of your list, about the Epitome? In 1000pts it is pricy but until I get to 2000 and afford the points for Glutos, would you recommend an epitome hero (potentially the only hero of a 1000 list)?

    thinking about:

    - 1 Contorted epitome

    - 11 blissbarb archers

    - 5 chaos warriors

    - 5 blissbarb seekers

    - 5 slickblade seekers

    - Seeker cavalcade battalion

my other thought is to drop battalion in favour of this:

    - 1 Bladebringer on hellflayer // Epitome?

    - Infernal enrapturess

    - 11 blissbarb archers

    - 5 chaos warriors

    - 5 blissbarb seekers

    - 5 slickblade seekers

What would your recommend? I only play painted so I want a clear plan before I paint things I won’t use...

    Thanks in advance

Thanks @Sorrow!  I started painting this army about 6 months ago with the StD start collecting box and have been steadily adding to it since then.  Here's a few shots.  Definitely looking forward to adding some of the new seekers and Myrmidesh!

You can see some pics of this army in action against @Athrawes and his incredible (even better in person!) Lumineth here in his batrep: https://www.reddit.com/r/ageofsigmar/comments/lu6l60/lumineth_vs_new_hedonites_battle_report/

  17. I am currently working on hedonites models and with the upcoming release of Be’lakor, am considering a mixed force of chaos, considering I feel the hedonites list needs a good point adjustment to feel effective. So in the meantime I want to use these nice new models alongside other chaos modes I have.

I would like to use amy slaanesh mortals alongside a maggotkin batallion. Can this be done? Do I need to run this as S2D with nurgle and slaanesh? Are you allowed to use batallions from other books within another battletome as I suggest?

  18. I am currently working on hedonites models and with the upcoming release of Be’lakor, am considering a mixed force of chaos, with slaanesh and nurgle. If I take a S2D list and add my slaanesh units and nurgle daemons, can I take battallions from each of those respective battletomes into my S2D army? I get that I won’t have access to faction specific things such as exploding 6’s for slaanesh, or the wheel of maggotkin of nurgle.

Best case scenario for me would be to play a maggotkin battallion along with some Hedonites units and Belakor. Under the current rules for Belakor/S2D, is it possible? Or are battalions restricted to their own faction/battletome?

thanks for clarifying this for me!
