  1. Not entirely model related, or a whole lot to look at right now.. Here is a WIP shot of my studio.  In this picture its currently primed. I literally just got done with my first coat of paint, but no images will be up until after tomorrow when the painting is done. Anyone want to take a crack on what color it will be?

Other WIP parts can be seen in my blog (which was started to keep me motivated).

So what's interesting to me, is I believe we were told that we haven't seen the entire Idoneth Deepkin range at the Adepticon reveals. Except every picture we've seen so far has basically not shown us anything new. This including the fact that apparently the White Dwarf only mentions 14 warscrolls makes me wonder if they mis-reported this at Adepticon.

The other thing is that not a single picture has been shown with Mistweaver Saih or Tenebrael Shard, 2 models that already exist. So I think it's almost confirmed that neither of them will be a part of the Idoneth Deepkin. There would be no reason not to show either of them with the Deepkin if they were going to be a part of this range.

Overall, the battletome can't come soon enough! Looking forward to some of the early reviews popping up in the next few weeks, as this is an army I'm definitely considering as my first 'AoS' army (And by that, I mean army with a new range of models).

Perhaps they are waiting to make an even larger surprise, doubtful as it may be. Could help explain why no pre-order info on miniatures yet?

I still thinking Teclis will appear. In the last picture of the text its said they are the children of Mathlann and Teclis took them to Hysh and build a city for teaching magic and good manners.

I don't know almost anything about lore and don't know who's Mathlann, I think I read it was an ancient god and that the surfer guy is Mathlann's Avatar. That sounds great but if Teclis was truly who created the idoneth, doesn't matter if he passed away and went creating high elves next because now as the text says he reclaimed that souls and took them to be his teacher, and if he took so much effort on searching for light inside those souls I think he would not let them away for second time.

And remember Teclis is angry so maybe he likes that darkness now and can twist it in something he likes so... I have the hope to see a Teclis miniature

I dont think we will get a Teclis or Tyrion model for the same reason we dont havea Sigmar one

That would be great. I would love to see more miniatures like the plastic Wight King!

yeah a long time ago there was a WD article that had a list for barrow kings. one of the items that could be taken was a flying chariot.

    Xing my fingers!

  5. same way undead walk around, magic is used, people can get hit and suffer multiple wound etc. Its suspended belief. Fantasy of all kinds has weird tropes. It is fantasy after all.

I used to notoriously despise figures standing with their foot on something like a skull or rock, as if they just trucked that thing around with them on the battle field.. this stuff doesn't bother me one bit lol.

  6. Had their chance with me several years ago.

Cannot afford to make significantly less than I do now, it will remain a passing aspiration of mine from an earlier time, before I got a house, wife, career and started a family. But who knows... the winds of life can take you make places, you just need to put up your sails.

    best of luck everyone!

  7. Love the models. Love the notion of what could use their rules as 'count as'. I like how they went away from what people were assuming would be more 'mer-men'. Seems like a lot of other companies already do this. This seems to be a nice compromise to keep things within their own lore and to differentiate from the expected/ norm.

Curious why they dont have some sort of crustacean for mount, considering they can go on land.

There hasn't been an army I have ever wanted to paint straight out of the box till now. Super excited for this.

  8. Thank you for the awesome content & congratulations on such a successful site.

I am not advocating all good things should be free, I do think looking at other sites for ideas could be helpful.

bolterandchainsword opperates  on donations. This on its own could certainly help, even combine with some of the other mentioned ideas like limited advertising.

dakka does well with its advertisements and o hardly notice them.

I personally don’t have an issue with advertising, so long as it’s limited to something like dakkadakka. If it helps gets the bills paid then why not?If it works for them and they have a silly amount of people it could work here.

If you do a subscription to post any sort of content that may turn new people away.

I propose minor relevant advertising coupled with donation drives twice a year. Anything extra gained can be used for next year or a way to incorporate minor prizes for forum competitions.(though I guess you could have entry fees for that and the money goes to said prizes).

  9. Should be interesting, though I wish they wouldn’t keep slow rolling releases. It’s nice to show and hint, but unless it’s coming out imminently I don’t see the reason to hype so far out because then other non related hype things get put in front of it

    Bad ass Atlantean Spartans.

Since I'm born and raised in an Atlantic island, I'm already sold. Hit me up Aelfs riding sea horses.

but once its on land doesn't it just become a regular horse? like rats outside, mice are inside. like if a mouse goes outside does it become a rat and if a rats inside the house is it a mouse?

    Paradox

  11. so if it is a terrain piece, explain how the fish are swimming on land and why a sunken ship would be on land with aquatic life living off it while not in water? I guess magic.. but for a game that is land based battles im a tad perplexed how all the armies could fight underwater.. or how all underwater things could fight on land that would otherwise require the ocean or body of water for them to exist, even in this setting.

do they roll around in giant spheres of water and engage in battle? not trying to be sarcastic, im really curious how they will do this.

Either way, if this is a terrain piece, one can make a great ghostly ship for the undead rules that came out prior to this nagash one..
