I love the epitome in a nurgle army. And I think one in 1000 points is a strong option! The epitome REALLY shines if you play with realm spells because some of them are broken as hell and it can cast two of them with RR! If a game is not being used in the realms with access to the spell lore, I usually dont include it. The RR 1s to hit is nice but perhaps not worth for me.

Awesome that makes a lot of sense :)

If not using realm spells, do you think a Chaos Sorcerer Lord would be a good replacement if using a mortals nurgle list?

@sal4m4nd3r I'm looking at Team Nurgle for my next project and just wanted to pick your brain if I could :)

Do you think using the Contorted Epitome as an ally at 1k points worth it in your opinion?

I was considering something like this -

Well im not sal4, but for 200 points a double caster (re-roll failed casts and dispells) who can let enemy units fight last and let your kings re-roll 1 to hit....... is obviously very good in my opinion.
compare it with another hero you would use lets say lord of plagues..140 ..re-roll 1 to hit and some lame command ability...epitome wins

lord of blights 140 good command ability but not with the kings in your list and his throw some heads is also not so good so epitome wins.

Festus 140 is good he heals has a nice spell...but only one cast.....epitome has two.....

Thank you, I appreciate the advice! (I directed it at Sal4 as I saw he was running one in a higher list)

What you're saying definitely makes sense as the Epitome is an overall great support/caster unit. And I have the model to build anyway 😂

  3. Hi everyone :)

I hope you all don't mind me posting this here but I thought the latest episode of our podcast would be of interest to you!

We had the pleasure of interviewing Davis Ford, the creator of AoS Reminders - a fantastic tool that is shaking up the Age of Sigmar tabletop scene for both casual and competitive players.

Davis also talks to us about his background in Warhammer, his future plans for AoS Reminders and his thoughts on the current state of Age of Sigmar!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!

@NinjaBadger7 could I get you to PM me a photo of those leaked points? Or a link to where you found them? I have some vanguard and was going to build a small Stormcast force to play with but didn’t know how many to build (will have Nighthuant ready to play at release but want/plan to have most all of the non-unique factions playable soon-ish).

    PM sent :)

    it's off the Warcry subreddit

Most GA order Armies nowadays are Elf armies.

Frost phoenix is usually the backbone of it imo.

Use the Thralls are Battlelines, the PG as objective holders or roadblock.

While the Loremaster has an amazing hero, his buff only work on a SINGLE MODEL and not a UNIT so you would only be able to cast on the Phoenix so i am not really sure how usefull it would be, unless you use another behemoth. With your current units i would prefer the Sisters as a magical support.

    Waywatcher if a solid Sniper.

A Dragon could be handy. Magnetize the Rider and you can use the Lord if you need a beatstick or the Archmage for the 2 spells (that would get +3 armor from your new spells). With the Dragon the Loremaster wouald became more interesting in the composition.

    Good luck!

Thanks for your suggestions, I will look into it! :)

Some Battleforces are still available and should also be a good start :)

    That's a good shout actually.

GW are trying to sell off the StD Godsworn box (they had quite a few at Warhammer World when I went recently) which could be interesting...

(And on personal note, happy that the Deepkin Battleforce I randomly bought after xmas will come in handy :) )

  7. Hi everyone :)

I was recently looking at my collection (plus an inspirational visit to Warhammer World!) and fancied trying to build a Mixed Order army and would like some help/ideas

    My criteria:-

    ·         I am aiming for 1000pts initially and then adding more as and when

    ·         No Stormcast (recently sold them as didn’t get on with them model wise)

    ·         Something for fun/casual, not tournament play

    ·         Mainly aelves would be good but not against other factions

Here is what I currently own:-

    ·         Most Deepkin (Thralls/Reavers/Eels etc)

    ·         1 x Loremaster

    ·         5 x Sisters of the Thorn

    ·         1 x Excelsior Warpriest and 1 x Doomseeker (from Silver Tower)

    Things taking my fancy:-

    ·         Lion Rangers

    ·         Phoenix Guard

    ·         Waywatcher

    ·         Glade Guard

    ·         Frostheart Phoenix

But ultimately I’m open to suggestions :)

    Thanks!

I did a game versus squigs. I brought 5 hellstriders, 30 daemonettes, keeper and a sorc lord on manticore (which can be replaced with an epitome)

he had a mangler boss, skarsnik, fungoid, 2 squig herds, and 10 bounders in a battalion.

He went first, he moved up a little. I moved up a little. He got second turn and charged my daemonettes who left just in 3” from all sides that my keeper would get pulled in no matter what. I got locus off on the mangler. Many daemonettes died from a squig here and bounders thanks to itchy nuisance. Keeper piled in and killed the mangler in one go.

My turn, I did some damage, killed squig herds and moved guys out of combat to a defensive position. Cacophonic choir actually did mortal wounds since it was a bunch of low bravery models. Summoned an  Enrapturess

double turn. Keeper is free from combat. All that is left some bounders, skarsnik, fungoid and some squigs. Daemonettes with what is left move on the squigs. Manticore goes after the fungoid with 2 wounds left and keeper makes short work of the bounders. Everything dies on his end and he charge skarsnik into my 2 hellstriders, removing them, my only full unit loss, though I have 2 daemonettes remaining. The keeper charges and murders.

Only depravity was from his models as I never took damage. I would have surely lost if the mangler got to attack, but forcing him last just makes him such a non-threat. If anyone want to be a ****** you could take at 1k, 2 keepers, and have 280 points left over, which could be 2 hellstriders, then take 2 endless spells for funsies

    Awesome, thanks for the summary!

Looks like they can definitely hold their own at that points level, but can see how important the KoS is.

    Anything you would change?
