  1. Hey all :)

I've started work on a Hallowheart army whilst in isolation and wanted some help with getting a rough 1000pts list up and running.

So far I own/will own soon:-

    • Battlemages x 2
    • Sorceress x 2
    • Phoenix Guard x 10
    • Freeguild Guard x 10
    • Darkshards x 10
    • Freeguild Handgunners x 10
    • Hurricanum x 1
    • Shadow Warriors x 10
    • Sisters of the Thorn x 5
    • Knight-Incantor
    • Lord-Arcanum
    • Malign Sorcery
    • SCE Endless Spells

Any ideas on the must have units?

I'm thinking of a Battlemage, Sorceress + Knight-Incantor for the heroes + Shooty units for battleline, then some Phoenix Guard for some resistance. Then maybe a few endless spells to round it off?

I have a chaos Kharadron army that I'm expanding to include other duardin who also worship Hashut, I'm using Thousand Sons helmets and bits to simulate the tall hats of old.

Nice! Do you have any photos?

Hellcannons are pretty awesome and can outrange so many threats.....trick is to keep the crew alive.  Though now that I write this, the crew are NOT daemons.  So I don't think those can be in this all daemons allegiance?

I would say not? The cannon meets the criteria but the crew doesn't but I could be wrong!

GW once stated that singular or plural keywords are interchangeable. For example they often refer to the HEROES keyword in rules, but no warscroll has that keyword, but only the singular keyword HERO.

So you can use the "Shadow Legion" command ability on the following units:

    BLOODLETTER keyword:

    • Skull Cannons
    • Bloodletters
    • Bloodcrushers

    HORRORS OF TZEENTCH keyword:

    • Pink Horrors of Tzeentch
    • Blue Horrors of Tzeentch
    • Brimstone Horrors of Tzeentch

    PLAGUEBEARER keyword:

    • Plaguebearers
    • Plague Drones
    • Daemon Pox Riders of Nurgle

    DAEMONETTE keyword:

    • Daemonettes
    • Seeker Chariots
    • Seekers

Of course there are a lot of leaders that also have these keywords, but as they are only one model each, you can't bring back slain models. The ability only works on units with more than one model.

Ah that's fair enough, must have been a FAQ that didn't sink in!

Quite a lot of people still believe they aren't interchangeable (or don't know that it's been confirmed) so hopefully this book will reinforce that rule for others :)

  5. 1 hour ago, Lure Of The Gods said:

Will have to wait till the book is in hand and I'm not reading stills from youtube videos of reviewers to confirm but I think you can resurrect models from bloodcrushers, seekers etc. As you said, the ability has the KEYWORD of bloodletter etc so I think you were correct in your thinking.

All the keywords mentioned in the ability are plural so (BLOODLETTERS etc) where as Bloodcrushers have Bloodletter singular, hence my thinking of it being restricted to the basic daemons.

But I could be wrong! Haha

First, Thanks for create this forum.

i have a question about "the shadow legion" command ability. Can we return slains models to bloodcrushers, seekers...? Or only battleline like bloodletters, pink horrors, daemonettes?

    Thanks. :)

It's only the "main" 4 battleline daemons like Bloodletters etc

After having a debate with a friend who loves the Stormcast lore but struggles to engage with the lack of customisation options in the current AoS we've been playing around with the Horus Heresy rules system, currently just accomodating Stormcast vs Stormcast battles and early in its inception but with the intent of allowing hero and unit customisation on a level currently not accomodated for in AoS to better allow unit conversions. Its in its early stages, and obviously wont be to everyones tastes but hopefully some will appreciate the intent behind it.

This looks really intriguing! I'm a massive fan of people making their own bespoke game modes (as a kid a friend and I designed a soccer game using Space Marines using the original Blood Bowl rules haha)

I'm going to have  a good peruse of it over the xmas break and offer any c&c if I can :)

On  a different note - what did you use to create the pdf design? (software wise I mean)

    Thank you so much...

Are these just the normal weapons? Do they fit to the new arm?

Do the regular Ogor arms fit onto the Body?

That's just a Glutton sword cut down to be cleaver sized and the parts all seem to be in proportion.

I think the main difference is the AoS Ogor stuff is more "closed" pose with the BB Ogres being more "open" but size wise it all works :)

I've just bought the Blood Bowl Ogres to use two of them to make a butcher and a slaughtermaster :)

If I get chance over the xmas period to work on them I'll put some WIP photos on here :)

@rosa This is the start of my Butcher :)

I'm going to add more cleavers, meat etc once I get the BCR SC box to use the extras that come with it.

Has anybody used the new blood bowl ogors for conversations?

Or are there any pics from someone who had? Could be a good basis for butchers and Hunters.

You can mix them just fine, most of the buffs in the book can be applied to either BCR or Gutbusters, the restrictions tend to fall in terms of unit type rather than faction keyword.  The Frostlord on Stonehorn is a solid combat monster that can slot into most lists that can spare the points, the various Thundertusks I would not personally consider to be that valuable right now, but that may change with points adjustments down the line.  Mournfang are interesting as their damage output can be quite weak, especially if they don't get the charge, but they are faster than infantry ogors, and I find two model squads with Ironfists quite a valuable tool at times.

Since I read the Battletome I've got the impression that doing a mixed list is perfectly doable but you want to weigh it in the favour of either Gutbusters or BCR and then use the other to fill gaps - I.e a mainly GB army with a Frostlord on Stonehorn to Smash face or a mainly BCR force with Butchers/Slaughtermasters for some casting support.

But this is just my impression 😊

In your second list I would split the 2 mournfang units. Then you can turn the stonehorn riders into a huskard togive you the option of the command ability and to get another mount trait.

I think clubs seem stronger than hackers on mournefangs but that might just be person Al preference.

Funnily enough I did spot that after my post - with the spare 20pts swapping the beast riders for a HoSH and separating the mournfangs.

With the 1 in 4 rule for horn blowers/standard bearers - where do we stand with units of 2 for the mournfang?

well you can;t cast ribcracker twice in a turn. So that's a bit of redundancy which I don't know if you need. I'm actually starting to like Fleshcrave Curse, ithout having tried it though, to weaken or kill things. You won't use it often but the Butcher will be front and centre so it will be the one casting Bloof Feast and tyour endless spell most likely. Having a second choice of mortal wounds spell is nice. That way you can keep your slaugtermaster closer to the Pot for the +1 as well because his spells have more range. (Boof feast is also 18 but wholly within limits it a bit.)

Do you know what you'll end up playing against?

Admittedly I was taking ribcracker twice for redundancy but I see the point of taking something else rather than something that may not get used. I suppose Fleshcrave is a bit risk/reward but handy in the right situation 😊

Well I'm looking at using the list in casual/general games and some tournaments so I'm trying to make it as "well rounded" as it can be within reason!

  15. 4 minutes ago, Kramer said:

Looks good. But you do know you can get an extra spell on both the butcher and the Slaughtermaster for being Bloodgullut right?

    Yes thank you 😊

But for some reason Warscroll Builder wouldn't give me the option (that reason could be me 😂)

  16. Hey all :)

After my current Maggotkin project, I'm planning on a 1k Mawtribes army for general games and possibly to team up for AoS double events.

Here is a draft I've been toying with....using the Gluttons and Ironguts to hammer through, Frost Sabres/Gravetide to help with screening etc. Butcher/Slaughtermaster for buffing/support.

    Any thoughts?

    Allegiance: Ogor Mawtribes
    - Mawtribe: Bloodgullet

    Leaders
    Butcher (140)
    - General
    - Cleaver
    - Trait: Nice Drop of the Red Stuff!
    - Artefact: Splatter-cleaver
    - Lore of Gutmagic: Blood Feast
    Slaughtermaster (140)
    - Lore of Gutmagic: Greasy Deluge

    Battleline
    12 x Ogor Gluttons (400)
    - Pairs of Clubs or Blades
    4 x Ironguts (220)

    Units
    2 x Frost Sabres (40)
    2 x Frost Sabres (40)

Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs

    Total: 1000 / 1000
    Extra Command Points: 0
    Allies: 0 / 200

Or I just go full "smash face" with BCR 😂

    Frostlord on Stonehorn (400)

I would just buy a base of the right size, then fill it with a cooking device big enough that the base doesn’t look too empty. 😊

Oh that's definitely my thought process :)

I've seen a model cauldron (well plastic toy!) on Amazon that looks to be a similar size but I just wanted the official size for a comparison.
