Starting Free People

I have about 8000 points of old Empire lying around.  I have decide its time to get my old 8th ed tournament army and put them on rounds.  I have done some reading on the free people(let chat free people was a good read), and here are my thoughts:

  • Demigryph are not oop, and slightly over costed(I have 18 of them :( )
  • gryph hounds are your best friend
  • hurricanum is needed/ amazing
  • Hold the line is amazing
  • Hand gunners are deadly with buffs. 
  • Swordsmen are you friends, not haldiers(I have 150 of those buggers)

So, I would like some advice on playing them, but here are a mock list.  What do you guys think?  Thanks for your time.

I'm starting Free Peoples too. I figured the same about "Hold the Line" and Hurricanum. But i find Crossbowmen better than handgunners. If you have 30 of them, they shoot twice and with all the buffs (general and hurricanum aura) they make 60 shots hiting 2+, wounding 3+ and all wound rolls of 5+ have rending.

And since I start this army to rest a little from my horde goblin army, I will put some more points in Leaders ( maybe Luminark, battlemage on griffon, regular battlemage etc.). Mostly to have fun :)
