Query about Null Myriad for Ossiarch Bonereapers

Argieus

Question

Hello All,

So a big contested subject about Null Myriad for Petrifex Elite:

"You can roll a dice each time a friendly Null Myriad unit wholly within 9" of any friendly Null Myriad Mortisians.... is affected by a spell cast by an enemy unit or the abilities..."

Now, it clearly defines affected, not targeted. So what is the difference between affected and targeted?

For example Total Eclipse from Lumineth. That spell does affect all my units so that they need to spend more command points.

I really look to hear all your opinions.

Not sure I understand your question but I think the answer is in the Core Rules FAQ point 19.2

I still am not sure whether or not the ruling counts for this example.

Null Myriad for OBR mentions "You can roll a dice each time a friendly Null Myriad unit wholly within 9" of any friendly Null Myriad Mortisians.... is affected by a spell cast by an enemy unit or the abilities..."

And the Lumineth Spell Total Eclipse states:

" Total Eclipse is a spell that has a casting value of 9. If successfully cast, until your next hero phase, your opponent must spend 2 command points to issue a command instead of 1."

Since my units are affected, would this count?

I think there's no clear answer presently, meaning you'll have to agree with your opponent or ask your TO (if in an event).

I can see both arguments:

1) it "affects" the player (since it's the player who "spends" CPs), so Null Myriad would not work against it

2) It affects the unit (model) issuing the command, so they get to roll if they are within the aura of 9"

I would lean more towards the first option because of the wording of the spell but I am just a random player.
