Dracothjay
Hey guys, chuffed to say I've finished him after 4 fun days. I'm happy with how he turned out, but I'm wondering how to really get a better blend on the wings as I don't airbrush and want to blend better in the future. Heavily Watered down paints isn't working for me.
Nico
Looks good. Maybe try using Vallejo airbrush thinner instead of water (it's cheaper than Lahmium Medium). I'm hardly an expert, but alternatively for big/flat surfaces, you could try glazing instead of layering/wet/blending, so paint it all blue, then add successive ultrathin glazes of blue stroking the brush towards the middle. Keep adding white to the successive glazes, until you're using white glaze as the final step. I prefer wet blending on smaller areas.
Redmanphill
He looks good alright. The thought of painting those wings has put me off buying this model a few times.
Dracothjay
Don't be put off! I've painted a lot of armies in the past and this, by far, has been the most enjoyable one to paint. Wings weren't too bad, the base vortex was the time consuming part.
