Do I have to specify Command Abilities before battle

Hi all,

New AoS player here, I think I've got command abilities and traits sorted except for one thing. Do I have to specify which command ability each hero has or can I just use any available ability as the need arises. For example if all my heroes use Inspiring Presence can they then use At The Double later? (providing they have the command points).

Sure, as long as you have command points you can use whatever command abilities you want (and are allowed for that particular hero).
