Running whilst retreating

Marc Wilson

Question

Simple one this and apols if it's covered elsewhere or in FAQ; can you run during your retreat move? Or to put it another way, on a move 5 model you can move anywhere more than 3" to 5+D6" away?

pretty sure that right but would be nice if that could be confirmed.

cheers!

Yes, you can run when retreating.

You declare both when you pick a unit to move.  The FAQ says that all kinds of movement should be read as "move" in the rules. So when you retreat, you "move" and when you "move" you can declare that it is running.  (I ain't  100% on this though.)
Both Retreating and Running disqualifies you for charging and shooting later in the turn.
The only thing about retreating is that if you start your movement within 3¨ of an enemy then you have to end the movement more than 3¨ away from any enemy unit.

(and if I had read further in the FAQ they answer your question explicitly. The answer is Yes!)
