'Storm of Magic' Open War Twists and Lords of Change

CJPT

Question

The 'Storm of War' Twist card in the new Open War deck states:

Add 1 to all casting and unbinding rolls. However, if a casting or unbinding roll results in a double, then the caster suffers a mortal wound after the spell is attempted and its effects (if any) have been resolved. If the roll was a double 1, then the caster suffers D3 mortal wounds instead.

How does this interact with the Lord of Change's Mastery of Magic?

When you make a casting or unbinding roll for a Lord of Change, change the result of the lowest dice so that it matches the highest.

Does the Lord of Change's (mandatory) double result cause a mortal wound every time it casts a spell?

It looks like the "Change Result" ability happens after the roll. Unlike the Screamers treat 6s like 1s rule. But I haven't seen a FAQ for it.

Edit: this is because the wording is "Change result" for the LoC and the reference in the Storm of War is "result"

So, I'll place my bet that the order of operation would be:

Roll Dice

(Reroll if there is an allowed ability.)

Was the roll a double? If so was it double 1s?

"Change the roll" LoC ability.

Add modifiers including Storm of War +1 to the roll total.

But, it probably needs to be FAQ'd to something like "if a unmodified ..." to be really sure.
