Keith
I currently have 3 of these guys on the painting table , the intention is to use them with my High Elf army. no reason other than I like the look of them and wanted to paint some to match my elf army. So , if I was to expand the Palladors into a full Storm cast army , what should I do ? The new Vanguard box look like good value ? The box looks like it includes some battline if I take the hero Palladors guy? Lastly , are Vanguard Palladors a viable unit? I'd like to run 3 units of 3 or something like that. Will I regret committing to a Palladors heavy force?
Freejack02
They're very fast and can soak some damage, but aren't great offensively. Full disclosure I've never tried running more than 3, but I've heard others have had success with a larger (6+) unit. On paper, they look to be a significant investment with a shaky payoff - I'd likely opt for Dracoths every time.
newsun
A unit of six will kill it's points back most every game. They are a good tarpit with defender buff up and they are fairly reliable at dishing out mortal wounds. I like that block supported by 6 long strikes with aquilor. BURF1
Get Blightwar, sell the nurgle half, use the battalion in that box. Add a Lord Aquilor, A lord Relictor, A knight Heraldor and 2 units of judiators. Bam, fantastic 2000pt army.
