  1. "Divide to better rule" seems to be the new mojo for GW. They don't wan't soup in new armies, clearly separating  armies by theme, identity and range. Making the customer who want this unit and that monster inclined to buy both armies. I hate this. And I'm happy that GW had to make soup battletomes to finish 2.0 in a hurry (DoT, StD, LoN, Nurgle, Skaven...): those  BT are simply the best and my fav.

Want to try this list from tempest2020, but im dont understand how better change spells on wizards?

Why kairos use foldreality, but not a DMG spell?

How make first moves, place units? Cause it is not one drop so may be defensive placement better then aggressive

This kind of list scares me, not because they are scary but because playing a list in which

    1) there are no offensive unit and/or anvil like

    2) horrors and kairics by 10 are super fragiles and can be erased easyly and can't reply do things in return

    3) most HQ are fragile and not fighters.

Maybe the ES make the difference...

LoN may not receive an update on the basis they are old kits which are being phased out.

Are you serious: for me it is one of the most beatiful range in AoS. And it doesn't show its age. And you you know what? Skeletons can't age! 😉

But I agree that LoN need an update, ideally with some decor/ES and even a new unit (example: a catapult like or some archers....)

  4. General questions :

    - Is there a spell that can be normally cast more than once per magic/hero phase? (I don't speak about trics like ES then dispell then cast again etc...)

    - what are the sources of making our castings more reliable? I'm in a brainstorming to make the fate points going above 9 in T1 with my list with kairos (in the previous page)

  5. I don't know, those lumineth smell to much the same recipe as the OBR for me. Nothing that yell "NEEEED" to me. It is often the Big monster that make me jump into the army. This teclis is too much diorama, not enough battle fighting... I'll wait to see the full range (and probably a financial opportunity like a big box or battleforce...). I even resold my OBR lol.

  6. This is the kind of list I'd like to refine, chose the relic, traits etc... Guid of summoners to get ASAP a LoC.

    Allegiance: Tzeentch

    LEADERS
    Kairos Fateweaver (400) ( 3 spells )
    Gaunt Summoner of Tzeentch (240) ( 2 spells )
Magister on Disc of Tzeentch (140) ( 1 spells )
    Tzaangor Shaman (150) ( 2 spells once per battle / 1 spell )
The Changeling (120) ( 3 spells with BW vortex)

    UNITS
    20 x Tzaangors (360)
    10 x Kairic Acolytes (100) ( 1 spells )
    10 x Kairic Acolytes (100) ( 1 spells )
    6 x Tzaangor Enlightened on Disc (360)

TOTAL: 1970/2000 EXTRA COMMAND POINTS: 0 WOUNDS: 120
    LEADERS: 5/6 BATTLELINES: 3 (3+) BEHEMOTHS: 1/4 ARTILLERY: 0/4
    ARTEFACTS: 0/1 ALLIES: 0/400

I have to add the balewind vortex also.

With the summoned LoC+horrors there are 64 more wounds and add to this some summoned chaos spawns...

I feel a bit short on 2 departments:

    - endless spells for offensive

    - number of spells to trigger the 9 fate points T1.

    What do you think?

  7. dbce07e0.jpg

What do you think about the new guy in our army? (rule wise please, because miniature wise it is a superb addition to the StD range).

My 2cts: I think that we have already many good characters, that are expensive (in pts). So, it'll be difficult to add  this one especially compared to lords, wizzards and princes...(Even worse if you add a gaunt lol)

  8. Yep, and some others also: armigers were in a dual army box (way) before IK release, IK were in a big box before IK codex release, gloomspite & more recently OBR...

So, everything is possible. Remember that 2020 is not (supposedly) an AoS year: there is no Big new starter set (which will most certainly be a 40K one this summer) and every battletomes are done (well, except seraphon soon). So, it is really possible to see new armies and maybe a big thematic box (à la IK for example, which was almost 2 IK full kits+ a decor+rules). And of course the usual dual army boxes (probably one more this year, even 2) and the traditional 4 christmass battleforces.

There was a rumor a year or two ago about Ogors being re-released as much bigger and fatter models with unit sizes all being in the 1 to 3 range. I wonder if that rumor was actually about this Sons of Behemet faction. Suppose we might find out in a few hours :P.

One of the best ogor build is BCR (and very competitive!) with 4 stonehorns (various builds) and 2 or 3 units of low models counts Mournfangs. So, I won't be chocked to see an army of gargants with 3-5 Superbibg-Gargants and few normal gargants, just making them differents with sprues options (weapons, heads, visible relics & accessories, big stones for catapult-like guy, etc... and an additional sprue to the actual gargants to make them even more customisable.

+ the rule of "count as X" for objectives.

Seems really odd to me, unless there are going to be 4 or 5 new kits that are all giant.

I don't really see how they would work as a standalone army. I suppose for starters giving them a rule for capturing objectives, like Ogors...

Eh seems legit though so I suppose we will see.

For objective capture, the simpliest rule is like the orgor one: "count as X" where X is can be more than one (for big giants 10?, for actual gargant 5? etc...)

I don't think that we need 4 or 5 kist. The actual one could see an additional sprue for weapons and specific items, plus an additional big one à la "Imperial knight" of 40K. Maybe some tiny giant (well, it sounds weird), sold by pair or tiny giants.

When the current Giant kit first came out it was sold on having four variants for the different armies that used them - Ogre Kingdoms, Orcs & Goblins, Beasts of Chaos and Dogs of War. It could be they try and push it as a centre piece model for 'every' army with different variants. That seems unlikely however, as I don't recall a time when GW has ever released a 'neutral' army book aside from Dogs of War.

My biggest recent disappointment was that:

    - there was NO gargant (and synergies) in the new Ogor battletome

    - there was NO (chaos) gargant (and synergies) in the new  StD battletome.

This is a double missed opportunity by GW.

My opinion on the viability of a second ballondrinmaster is that if you already have say two boats and 2 - 6 man units of riggers/ wardens then each boat/ unit of loons has its own loondrinmaster to deepstrike around with. Maximizes our 7 man Hitcher teams and is a good mobile threat platform.

That was my first strategy: being able to have everything on boats and being able to hit with eventually 2 death stars (one big - ironclad - one minor - gunhauler-).

Initial skeleton of the list was:

    Endrigmaster balloon general

    Endrigmaster balloon

    6 * 3  balloon guys

    2 * Gunhauler

Ironclad => 1850pts (probably 5 thunderers in the ironclad for the last 150pts)

PS: everything can be skyhooked/garnisoned. So, I can go full army everywhere on the map.

Greetings! my local store is starting an escalation league next month and I've decided my time for Tzeentch has come.

My basic question is with 2x SC, some tzangors and enlightened what would be a good start for 1k so I could learn and then upgrade to the 1500 and then 2000 point?

Well, as you already have a "horizontal" army (read: no big/tall ones), I think that a LoC is too good to pass 😎. (I have one and I almost certain that I'll get one more in the near future, to get kairos & LoC)

  14. Lord of change : building questions.

    - What set up should I build (if I can't magnetize) ?

    - I can't find any magnetization video/tuto : is it possible to magnetize the weapons? Any link/image/video please?

PS: I will assemble Kairos AND a LoC (2 models, no magnet to get both). To use in AoS AND 40K. Hense the magnetization expectation....

  15. I don't see OBR lasting longer than , for example CoS/Skaven/Tzeentch: why? Just because past their petrifex, there are poor possibilities and a short range of miniatures.  CoS/Skaven/Tzeentch have in common a large miniature pool, several solid builds, some fun alternatives and as a bonus some additional synergies with other armies (at least to have fun!). Lets take our tzeentch as an example: you can easily add/synergize with BoC, Chaos, StD (I'm not speaking ALLY here).

I wasn't a big fan of tzeentch 2 years ago, I'm starting to be completely under their charm now! (not yet for horrors but I'm sooooo loving those birds, tzangors, kairic, LoC/K, heros, ogroid...)

  16. Also something nice to see: several tzeentch armies already played and several almost top players already. Ogors were early seen as middle tier, they are top tier. OBR were seen OP, we already see them less. KO were seen middle and....well, KO. Zero list.

I'm confident that tzeentch has at least the potential to deal with the actual meta. (beeing top tier, I just don't care 😎 )
