Not really something concrete, but in one of the AoS facebook groups I am in, a person said that the "he has on good authority that GW will from now on will have monthly AoS releases". So no more situations when it is 4 - 5 months 40K without a single AoS release and vise versa.

It seems plausible to me as it seemed that GW upgrade it's production facility and etc.

It would be boarderline insanety. Combine that with monthly 40k releases as well as a BB, a Necromunda, and a LotR relase every quater. We will drown in stuff....

Guess it will be more like in the old days, alternating AoS and 40K relases every two months

About number 7, the Khinerai Lifetakers do have hook weapons, but so far I can't find any pics that match that exact one. We don't have as many pics of them as we do of the Melusai and the ones we do have do not show their weapons very clearly. Chances are good that it is a winged lady hook, but we don't have confirmation yet. Personally, I think those barbs look much more nautical than Blood Witchy, but they have all kinds of crazy blades, so who knows...

I do admit that 1, 3, 14, 18, and 20 are pretty far fetched and your guesses are much more plausible, but 5, 7, 12, 13, and 17 are really all too generic to be fairly discounted. And 16 really doesn't look like the way GW sculpts fire, IMHO. I'd say it's definitely organic matter, probably an ocean plant or coral, but it might also be a bush or a tree.

Ok, I went back to the Khinerai pictures we have. The sickles are much smoother with them, your right. But I am still not that convinced of the "nautical theme" of the barbs. They look kind of evilish, even a bit fetish - more like something for Dark Elves/Eldar in general not necessary marine.

5 somehow doesn't fit the elven aesthetics, at all.  Its much more techy-dwarven, maybe freebooter-style. It isn't something that I see for Elves, but maybe you are right and GW has the Balls to shake stuff up beyond giving the pointy ears some monsters. and as you say 12 and  13,  are very generic, to generic to be attached to anything. !/ is well in line with the way undead are dressed.  16 fits the crazy way GW portrays Fire, smoke and magic, but again is way to generic to attach it to a certain race or setting. For all we know it could be a ****** of a Keeper of secrets - now spiked for his pleasur....

Here are my Idoneth Deepkin speculations for some of these:
(question marks for the ones that I think are more of a stretch)

    1 - underwater tech (?) more likely 40k, AdMech?!
    2 - Ork Buggy

3 - hook or sea dragon claw weapon or armour (?) more likely Orks (40k/AoS) or destruction
    4 - Stormcast Shoulderpad

5 - pirate guns or submarine pipes (?) archaic 40k, Necromunda gun or dwarfs
6 - decorative or navigational fin
7 - fishing hook weapon weapon of the flying elven gals
    8 - mysterious scenery piece
9 - obligatory comment on sisters of Battle

10 - chains for hooks or anchor weapons
    11 - Eldar construct
12- boat parts for vehicle or wreckage scenery (?)
13 - squidy tentacle or sea dragon horn
14 - hand hanging onto ship rigging (?) holding a scroll, looks pretty elven
    15 - aquatic monster head
16 - kelp scenery or flames
17 - sea dragon cloak looking somewhat undeady Knights of shrouds like
18 - air tank or pressure gauge (?) 40k clock-measure-thingy. Scenery similar to the industrial sector
19 - Tau, Knight or van saar weaponry

20 - underwater breathing apparatus (?) something 40k or Necromunda

Took the liberty and added some things, to much expectations for images being AoS or even Idroneth related.

  4. What this (upcoming) release exposes, is the clear limitation that GW created with the divide of all armies in 4 GA. While Chaos and Death show relatively clear outlines, Destruction has blurred "values" and Order being a patchwork simply held together by the filaments that civilisation provides. Personally, I couldn't care less about the GA composition, but I understand why some are irritated, conflicted and annoyed, maybe even swamped by this simplistic divide.
What GW could, probably should and maybe will do in a more or less distant future, is flush the GA out a bit more, create sub-GA's, that are defined a bit more by motivation and world views - or simply put create a Grid similar to the D&D rooster of "moral" positions. Chaos doesn't have to be all about worshipping the big 4 (no, rat boy you aren't part of the pantheon, you are just here for the amusement of the Dark Gods), but could be about living outside of societies rules, or doesn't necessarily mean the destruction of civilised nations for the sack of utter Chaos, but could also mean building totalitarian nations. Same goes for the ofter GA - they offer so much more and deeper concepts than GW was and is willing to explore right now. The concept of smaller Army releases allows for a more diverse Composition of the game, than WHFB did.

  5. Hm, that's strange - and a new one. Why would the show us a part of an already released model as something forthcoming?

"Tracked" it down, you guys mean this one?

    4x3IZuu.jpg

damn good spot. And intrestingly that clock isn't the exact same as the one today - see the clock arms? nevertheless that probably answers the question what it will be, at least it narrwos it down extremly

I'm calling Ad Mech - bottom symbol looks like one of the Forge World symbols

It doesn't scream AdMech to me, While the cogs could be Mechanicum, they might be something else, but primarily the clock hands and dials make it less 40k for me.

    I think that's just a 5 in roman numerals

This - maybe. Somehow it appears more dwarfen or Stormcast, can't put a finger to it - somehow I have the feeling, that we have seen the symbol somewhere before.

    Return of slaanesh imminent?

If by imminent you mean end of this year/beginning of 2019, you are probably correct. From all we know, the little pervert gets her turn in this years chaos reiteration. And in a similar way as Tzeentch and Nurgle did. Only the angry  dude on the Brassthrone will miss out on the double release structure due to obvious reasons.

Which could lead to a "Daughters of Khaine" announcement on 25/2 with pre-orders on 4/3 and release date on 11/3.

Which than would put the pre-order date at the same day as the AoS open day with the possibility to buy them on that day. Similar as we saw it with the Orlock gang at the FW open day.

Quite possible that this might happen....

So if it's true  DoK should be avaiable for preorder on the 22 and released on 3rd of March.

Which might actually fit the timescale we saw last year with the overlords. A release roughly 4-6 Weeks after the reveal. And if they want to show something new both at AoS Open day and Adepticon it realy helps getting the  DoK out of the way from a hype train perspective.

    From Moonstone:

One of the Aelf releases is definatly Daughter's of Khaine, and will include a new Morathi model (or should I say, models)

Not really expecting anyone to believe me at this point, but it was hinted to me that undead Orruks and Skaven would be a thing....

Space Wolves were initially planned for last December as I hear it (GW have apparantly been having some real production issues). The Nurgle stuff we just got was also...

Do you have a link to the post?

If possible, all new models for all new factions or subfactions seems to be the trend of recent times, but I would not count on it holding up.

I think we need to remember that the developement of the larger releases takes a looong time (3 years tends to get tossed around). This means, most minis we see currently/the last two years saw most of their developement under "old" GW. Since the leadership changed, we saw massive shifts in policy in almost all aspects of GWs business. But we are still waiting to see how the developement cycle has changed. Not updating any old faction or kit may have been the plan once, but I think the non-miniature support for old kit factions and the MP harbingers, whom, as a small line, may have been developed much faster and mostly support "old" factions, indicate this is propably no longer the long term intention.

Actually I would agree for 40k. With AoS there is a hugh gap after the Skydwarfs, which points to a reassessing and change in the development and direction of the game, especially the background. But still, I would say that AoS is seen as an open playing field, where old concepts are developed in new directions and genuinely new ideas are developed.  GW, even the new management, knows that to sell kits they can't simply revamp and repeat old lines over and over again, we see this with the change from dwarfmarines to primaris.

Concerning the development cycles, GW upped the production capacities significantly as well as the manpower of the design- and rules teams. As long as there are no powershortages, the could potential pumpe out new releases and fractions as they deem fit.

The rumours ive read (on this site!) have suggested new zombies and a new black coach. My own bet would be for plastic bloodknights at least/last, and hopefully new bat swarms, fell bats and soulblight heroes. Alongside any brand new stuff.

If all that forms the basis of Nagash's Legions, there's plenty of room for Flesh Eater Courts and brand new factions to exist alongside them!

Judging by the recent releases, I wouldn't count on that.  GW has shown tendencies not to refresh old models but rather phase them out or leaf them as they are, just with a new box. And new races tend to loss all old models - especially if those are still in finecast.

If we see two weeks of Custodes and Thousand Sons each, Feb 24th for the Legions of Nagash?

1k Sons will be a single week release. With custdes taking probably up this week and the following, 1k sons might be out for pre-order first week of february, followd by Underworld and than MP.- Book and heros, which again probably will be a single Week. Follwoed by Necromunda expansion and a week later the death-book, or vice versa

  14. Durkhari und Harlequin probably will just be codices. With the AoS-Elves it might be possible, that they share models and units, at least as duel-build boxes, allowing to either build a light or a dark version, thus making it more one released army with two accompanying books rather than the usual one, but counting as one army release wise.
