Still sticking to the Ravagers because I've grown to seriously like the small crack squads of suicide Marauders coming in from edges or if needs be an annoying Iron Golem warband to clog up an objective. Final list ended up remaining focused on the Ruinbringer Battalion too for the looks as well as cool rules. (I think mounted chaos looks great). I also went with 15 Warriors instead of the 40 man Marauder blob again for aesthetic more than anything and will try and keep pace with the Warshrine and maybe pack a bit more punch with the two support heroes as well. (Lances on Knights are just due to how they are modeled too)
With being so focused on Khorne its tough knowing what mark to go with for the filthy Sorcerers. And maybe I should just mix it up and look to a different God to get the entire army under the one unified mark. I also decided not to go Daemon Prince too just with how Ravagers lore is and grabbed two foot slogggers as well. A lot of this came off good advice in here and have to say thanks!

Its crazy the difference in Warriors using them as 15 instead of small road bumps 5 men squads. With some hot rolling they refused to die and trying the Karkadrak Lord earlier with the Runeblade on his axe definitely made him alot more brutal.
I used my Golems as Marauders too for the first time for the Ravagers command ability and being able to seriously threaten any heroes or units lingering near board edges is a seriously good ability!

Personally think to bundle up the grave guard units into one Scary blender...
I might do that too despite them being armed differently and just have the ones that I'm using them as at the front for my opponents sake. At least with 20 they won't be sneezed out of existence just as easy.. It let's both kings give the big blob of spears some TLC and the one unit of guard then too.
(Probly will of course with the nasty buggers armies can bring now a days)

It is totally fluffy and will get ground to dust by anything... but maybe with good positioning.
your necromancer needs to learn an appropriate spell, Just because he’s an edgy emo doesn’t mean he gets to cast vT 👻
Think about giving the one wight king a horse to run along the black knights
Ah yeah don't know why I wrote that right enough haha good old Overwhelming dread just. And aye that's it not expecting miracles unless lucks being kind but dam it looks cool having hordes of skeletons!
I think if I didn't have the two painted kings I would for sure get one mounted, but was thinking about using them just as mobile chaff and road blocks just to keep masses off the dragon and just clog things up alot.

So I have been on a big Chaos mood recently since the new models released plus warcry but thanks to nurgle ran out of stuff to paint.
But I remember I had these guys and as much as I hate assembling them they are so fun and quick to paint and it's gave my love for Death faction a serious boost (Somehow 3690 all in of Nagash Legions and Nighthaunt now finished..)
So I'm going to have to rock them out and thinking of going stupid old school with deathrattle so here is a list with the Twin Kings:
Wight Lord on Skeletal Dragon - Am orb and ethereal ammy
10 Black Knights
Wight King w/ Black axe (Krell)
10 Grave Guard w/ Great weapons
Wight King w/ Sword and Board
10 Grave Guard w/ Sword and Board
Necromancer - Vile Transference - Lord of 6+
40 Spear Skeletons
10 Spear Skeletons X2
Death march Battalion
Extra CP
I think I get an extra CP and artifact with the battalion but honestly not sure but their it is an old school Bone horde. Some chaff to spread out, dragon to rip and tear and a couple of surprisingly killy blobs among the swarm.
Any thoughts?

Well Dam.. that saves me some effort for sure thank you very much!

Hey everyone so recently with two finished armies and no way to play I decided to do some mock battles to take the itch of not playing off. But somehow as I've got older I have gone from proud 'game a day grey plastic legionnaire to some strange thing that actually makes and paints everything they have and never plays.. and that was before Nurgle went to town!
Now with not being able to get more stuff to paint I decided to play out some things and were I remember the base rules no problem I realized quickly how terrible I am at keeping track of all the interwoven buffs, who can do this and when stuff pops off. Just everything really! I think a part of this honestly comes to having so little interest in even reading rules in my current more hobby focused mindset but dam I was never this bad before.
So rant aside, has anyone actually wrote up some cheat sheets to help them keep on top of their abilities, spells, unit tricks and what not and do they actually help much? Or am I just being a lazy sod and need to actually go and revise my book.
-
Hmm thanks for the advice. I think you have just convinced me to get what I need for both giving me options for two very different forces. One slogging and one quicker to the punch. Thanks again for all advice!
-
Been tweaking my list for how it will look if I do go about making it a bit more extreme and following advice on what is useless and what performs better too.
Allegiance: Slaves to Darkness
- Damned Legion: Despoilers
Mortal Realm: Chamon
Slaves to Darkness Daemon Prince (210)
- General

10 x Chaos Warriors (200)
- Hand Weapon & Shield
- Mark of Chaos: Khorne
Chaos Warshrine (170)
- Mark of Chaos: Undivided
Ruinbringer Warband (140)
Total: 1980 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 1
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 143With this I have to drop the warriors back down to a 10 man squad and it allow me to upgrade the Orgoid myrmidon to a Daemon Prince and the Giant and Crusher go for a walk to make space for the horde of Marauders. Otherwise it remains fairly focused on the Ruinbringer Warband for the most part and I think if the Prince is used I could be better leaning towards Despoiler Legion over Ravagers. This does lose me three chaff cultist squads which could hurt an already low model count army but I don't really know from playing very little. Also unsure if its better running Chariots as a pack or separately to fish for mortals or get more bang for my buck if boosted with CP.
Any advice would be appreciated too! (Marauders will look suspiciously like a ragtag group of Golems and Tyrants, and the temptation to promote the Ogroid is hard not to follow)
-
So this is another attempt with the advice I have. The Giant is just for looks and has nothing to do with a certain non chaos army stomping its way here soon.. definitely not some sneaky preparation. But I think i have managed to fit in the Ruinbringer battalion by using marauders in the actual list and I will save my Iron Golems for crawling on the board edges to try and hold objectives. Ogroid and Crusher are both flair more than use I understand too.

@Salyx Great advice and thank you a lot.
Sad to hear that about the Varanguard but it was being silly with them or even a Giant instead just to have everything look so random. The maruaders advice too I will definitely follow in later games by combining all my cults into mixed blobs for a more serious punch. Chariot I might keep in just for looks sake and try and squeeze in the battalion when I start using marauders and all.
Hmm your Nurgle points good too I'm more than happy to go either or with these two gods and any extra range defense is always good. The endless spell too I will probably mess around with each one at least once as they are finished but I do get what you mean. Maybe if I had a Prince down the road it would begin seeing more use again then.
Cheers again for the help!

Overall I think the army will look great on the table. I don't have very many games under my belt so take this advice with that in mind. Chaos Warriors really want to be 15 strong not 10 from my limited experience. They will take a bit of a punch before losing their armor rerolls this way and you can save visions spell for other units. I would likely drop the Furies, since you mention the horsemen coming in to be a little bit of a mobile threat. The only easy and clean points to drop are Furies and Crusher.
Hmm I think furies wise I don't mind dropping at all so could be a way to squeeze in 5 more warriors for sure. Not overly invested in the Cypher lords too. So might take them out and see what change I would have leftover for maybe another character or something. Thanks for the advice!

Hi everyone I have been plotting away for a long time now in how I'n going to expand my Ravager army. Bounced between having allies such as some blightkings or followers of khorne, blobs of marauders using my cults as stand in.. but finally settled on an idea which gives me a good (I think) hammer/anvil look.
A lot of things are for aesthetic to make it look like a rambling horde of everything but a part of me still always hopes that it will be playable and not a total disaster so any feedback or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. For example I'm so terrible at trying to do Battalions for some reason, but here is the list:
Allegiance: Slaves to Darkness
- Damned Legion: Ravagers
Mortal Realm: Chamon
Leaders
Chaos Lord on Karkadrak (250) - With the leaders and Sorceror I cant decide on gear and spells for now.
- Mark of Chaos: Khorne
Ogroid Myrmidon (140)
- Mark of Chaos: Undivided
Chaos Sorcerer Lord (110)
- Mark of Chaos: Nurgle
Battleline
1 x Chaos Chariots (120)
- Greatblades
- Mark of Chaos: Khorne
5 x Chaos Knights (180)
- Cursed Lance
- Mark of Chaos: Khorne
10 x Chaos Warriors (200)
- Hand Weapon & Shield
- Mark of Chaos: Nurgle
Units
3 x Varanguard (300)
- 3x Daemonforged Blades
- Mark of Chaos: Khorne
24 x Iron Golems (210)
6 x Furies (100)
1 x Fomoroid Crusher (100)
8 x Cypher Lords (70)
Behemoths
Chaos Warshrine (170)
- Mark of Chaos: Nurgle
Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs
Darkfire Daemonrift (50)
Total: 2000 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 0
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 145
So plan is to have my "Castle" of Sorceror and Ogroid surronded by their cults, elite warriors and enslaved beasts pushing slow with the Warshrine. The Khorne aspect then of the mounted forces just push in as hard as they can. Thanks to being Ravagers I will have my two units of Marauder horsemen come in with javelins and start threatening lazy heroes or unguarded objectives. as well as the third rally call for some Spire Tyrants for flavour.
So thats the plan. Not too much to add to my to do list paint wise and look forward to it. Any advice before I fully commit will be great too. Cheers in advance!

I'm hoping we get a knights like release. With enough parts to have them inspired by any of the four factions.
Chaos gargants bursting with horns and mutations. Destructions original Sons pure to their fathers. Orders Giants kept tame with copious amount of ale and food to keep the peace and the rotten lumbering husks of undead.
But have them all be usable together when Behemats Warhorn sounds as a stomping band of beasts doing what they do best and terraforming faces.

Hey Trolls.
Think I'm gonna take the plunge into the dank once I can order stuff again just to have a really unique force compared to my other armies.
Would something like this be ok do you think? Trying for a bit of everything and really enjoy the 1k mark as its letting me keep projects short and sweet and expand if I enjoy them on tabletop or painting wise.
Allegiance: Gloomspite Gitz
Mortal Realm: Chamon
Leaders
Dankhold Troggboss (270)
Fungoid Cave-Shaman (90)
Battleline
Units
1 x Dankhold Troggoths (200)
6 x Rockgut Troggoths (280)
3 x Fellwater Troggoths (150)
Total: 990 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 0
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 62

So had a bit of spare time and thought I'd set up everything I have amassed between Death, Chaos and terrain in order to try and mimic the new Wrath of the Everchosen war kicking off!
Took a good few pics and hope you enjoy and a bert video, and yeah one thing new house lacks seriously is a big enough table so went old school floor hammer..

Hey back from a short holiday and good ol' dose of food poisoning and got some spells cranked out. Not to sure where to go from here, the Warcry Monster for definite but other than that have to think.
I think I need to get some actual games for sure to get a feel for what I need to work towards. Cheers for any feedback as always!

Thundertusks are not worth it anymore with the nerf they got, IMO. The only exception I see to this is maybe a Huskard on Thudertusk with the mount trait that requires enemies w/in 3" to fight last. You can surround that guy with Ironguts or Leadbelchers, put them in a central position and force some bad choices. But, personally, if you're going BCR, it's all about the aggression anyway, so Stonehorns and Mournfangs.....
Great thanks very much. Will get planning and scheming some paint schemes soon then, got a busy year planned for modeling for sure.

You really cant go wrong with 3 bigguns.
Allegiance: Ogor Mawtribes
Mortal Realm: Shyish

Frostlord on Stonehorn (400)

Stonehorn Beastriders (300)
Stonehorn Beastriders (300)
Total: 1000 / 1000
Extra Command Points: 0
Allies: 0 / 200
Wounds: 37You do mortals wounds on the charge on 4+ with all 3 units. Your leader is a 3+ unrendable, 5+ after save, counts as 10 models, beat stick that does d6 mw's at start of each combat and your opponent cannot retreat from him.
I like having the double beastriders as missiles to spread out but you could replace one or both with 2 units of mournfang pack to spread to more objectives.
Thanks for the advice I like the look of it. I think I would add a mournfang pack over a stonehorn just for variety when painting. Thanks alot for the help.
How are the Thundertusks too. Still ok if I did end up going full herd?
-
I've been starting to think about Ogres for my Destruction Order force after realising how refreshing it was painting larger models and as wondering if you master munchers would have any advice for a new bull?
I'm finding it tricky trying to go for about 1k points especially with the price of some of the bigger big'uns.
-
Cheers it always looks way more shiny at times in pictures for some reason.
It's one thing that keeps making me ponder too. But if I'm being honest the other half was playing through the Spyro trilogy and I'm pretty sure that's why she suggested purple.
It was nice to paint the unusual colour for sure but a nice bone/sandstone colour would of suited more for sure I think.
-
Cheers man and I'm definitely thinking about picking up that Tzeentch one for sure after just how fun this one was to do!

I must try the big blob of Golems sometime for sure if I'm breaking the Ogroid out again. They are definitely tough.
