  1. I can confirm my Skull cannons now suck 😞
    But I was unlucky.
    I shot 3 of them on turn one at a unit of 10 blood sisters and only did one wound , boo hoo, I shouldn’t have taken first turn , it cost me later.
    I tried a list with three cannons, two Bloodthirsters and a heap of Flesh Hounds in a blood host battalion.
    It was good fun to use , but I think the 420 points I spent on the cannons will go on a third thirster and Tyrants rather than the Blood host battalion , which didn’t really do much for me.
     
    The good thing is , I’ve been playing mainly Demon lists , so I can go back to the mortals and see how they go as well. But I might try out my Tyrants of blood list next.

  2. So I have a Herald of Khorne on Blood Throne and an artifact slot free. What artifact would be good on a Blood throne , any ideas ?

    My first thought is Gryfeather Charm , to keep it alive , as it's part of my Gorethunder Battalion.

    You could drop another unit of Bloodreavers, upgrade the Icon to Axe and have another CP. I think that's better. 

    Good points , I dont have a 2nd unit of Wrathmongers , but the Bloodsecrator's days are numbered.

    It's Bloodsecrator vs Wrathmomgers , and I think the Wrathmongers are going to win that battle and take the 140 points.

    I just cant fit all the Bloodleters in and take Slaughterpriests , AND take Judgements , AND take a thirster , AND take a battalion. It's going to be fun working it all out.

  4. Did anyone notice a difference between blood fuel praters and the other prayers ?

    Blood fueled prayers can cause d3 Mortal wounds to the Priest if you roll a one , but the other prayers only cause 1 Mortal wound if you roll a one.

    Is this a change , I cant remeber , I always took d3 MW when I rolled a one , maybe I was doing it wrong before.

    I'm dusting off my Khorne for a few games.
    I'm interested in trying the Doppelganger Cloak , is it any good on my lone Bloodthirster ?

  6. A couple of things.

     

    1) does anyone have a good scan of the Warscroll for the Guardian of Souls with Mortality Glass ?

    I have a few photos , but not a really good scan.

     

    2) Does anyone know the odds of rolling 10+ on 2d6 with a reroll ? I think it's maybe around 40% ?

Only points you've missed are that the VL is a wizard, so while it doesn't know spooky spell lore, it can still cast the basic 2, cast any endless spells and also unbind. And you missed that his command ability lasts until your next hero phase, so generally spend 1CP for two rounds of combat compared to KoSos who spends 2CP for two rounds of combat.

  8. Knight of Shrouds vs Vampire Lord ally?
     
    I like my Knight of Shrouds , but the Vampire Lord seems to winning me over.
    I run Reikenor the Grimhailer for the cool factor already , so the Knight of Shrouds might get replaced with an ally.
     
    What do you think ?

    1) cool model(GOOD)
    2) Command ability needs to wholly within 18" (BAD)
    3) Deathless spirits (death save for units wholly within 12" and for himself) (GOOD)
    4) Ethereal (GOOD)
    5) needs to kill a hero to heal himself (BAD)
     
    Vampirelord
    1) heal d3 to 3 units @12" (GOOD)
    2) chalice to heal himself d6 (GOOD)
    3) slay any model and heal a wound. (GOOD)
    4) command ability 15" (not wholly within) (GOOD)
    5) No death save as he is an ally (BAD)
    6) Vampire can cast Mystic Shield or Arcane Bolts and unbind one spell. ( GOOD) ( edit added this)

    Essentially it was a toss up between the list below that I settled on, or a more main stream Gav/evo list. I'll explain my reasoning below.

    I settled on the dracs as they are a self sufficient unit, they reroll charges, neg bravery, put out a lot of damage and importantly move 12". I was definitely in two minds on which two lists to take but the descision came that if total commitment was drawn and I got put against a bad match up I'd straight away be behind. 

    Turns out first mission random roll was total commitment. The other stormcast player with 20 seqs and 2 units of evos got matched against 3 guos and 60 plague bearers, the match I was dreading. He played very well and almost got the win, but the mortal wounds and resilience of nurgle pipped him in the final turn. 

    I was pretty impressed with the list as a really good utility list. Ballistas were for the arkhans, nagashs and allarielles of the world. Cats with the lantern are very good and there speed really made a difference. 

    My last 2 games were against sylvaneth which are very hard matchups, but I was able to capitalise on some mistakes and force the win. 

    Congratulations , I watched your last game vs Chris , I thought Chris would win that match up easy , (shows I know nothing about warhammers )

    I was surprised where you dropped the Ballistas and went for the Branchwraith , I guess you were desperate to stop more dryads appearing ?

    I would have shot Alarielle to make sure she died , but the cats made a big charge , knowing my luck the Cats would have failed the charge.

  10. Game on tonight.
    Here is my Desolating Brayherd list.
    I really like the Shaggoth so I have 2 in my list now.

    I cant decide on if I want tow units of 20 Bestigors or 4 units of 10 , so I went with 2 units of 10 and 1 unit of 20 1f642.png:)

    I plan to keep 10 with the ungors being hurled into the fire to protect the shaman and ungors there.
    The Raiders and Bullgors usually ambush

    Any thoughts ?

    With above suspicion, your general lies securely in ambush, I can see that. But when you want to resummon one of your units, you’ll have to do that during hero phase, while the set-up of your general is after (end of) the movement phase, so you‘ll have to wait another turn to be able to resummon... or do you pre-ambush, when you think fe the blackknights will get crushed this round, gotta get him in? Not sure if I would like a sturdier character better for general, good round of half decent shooting will put him to rest, or you have to resummon somewhere in the far outbacks.

     

    but maybe I’m missing a detail...

    Pages 63, 65, 67 and 69 – Command Ability, Endless Legions Change to: ‘You can use this command ability at the end of your movement phase. If you do so, pick a gravesite that is within 9" of your general, and then pick a friendly Summonable unit that has been destroyed. Set up that unit wholly within 9" of that gravesite and more than 9" from any enemy units.’

  13. Testing out this list tonight.

    My plan is the wraith just hangs off board until I need to summon a unit back form the dead.

    The units are meat shields that will wear the enemy down , and if they do kill one of the main unints , I can bring them back,

    I'm just not having any luck with Manfred or my VLOZD :(

    I really want the 40 Raiders for the strong hit when they come on. They can cripple and enemy key unit.

    Yeah , I was thinking about Gavespawn , but the Dimensional Blade... I dunno , I will have to think about it.

     

  15. Hi all
    After my first go was soundly smashed by Nighthaunt , I have tried to improve my list.
    I have included a battalion this time , and got my drops down to 4 , I think.
    The Beastlord is new with the Dimensional Blade , this could be fun.
    The Bray Shaman will turn up near the Ungor Raiders in Ambush with the Brayblast trumpet , and put some hurt on something , hopefully. This seems OK , but really just a one shot go at something. Not really that good ? I dunno.
     
    Anyway , here is the list , any suggestions??
    The two Shaggoths are up for change , not sure what I would swap them for. But they seem pretty good.

    I'm pretty sure that I can't afford to take Allarielle and Gnarlroot ?

  18. Trying this list out tmrw , what do you think ?

    I haven't tried the newly reduced in points Drakesworn Templar yet. I like the munching on units and breaking cohesion caper , so lets give that a try :)
