palladors are and have always been a nice niche unit in casual plays.
The rend 2 on the mounts as well as good movements, a bit of shooting and MW on 6 to hit guarantee that you'll spread some damages here and there.
they can deal with a lone support hero on their own as well or a small sorcerer.

In 3rd edition they each count as 2 which means that a unit of 3 will count as 6, combine this with the ability to teleport each turn makes them good to back cap a point and clean the goalkeeper units.

I think they could be nice in some builds and put some pressure on your enemy flanks and support units but i don't believe they'll be there on the most competitive builds where better options and synergies are available.

play them in casual plays and you'lle njoy them :) they're fun and versatile and they look awesome, personnaly i love them.

Cool, they'll stay off Ebay.😉 They sound like fun.

  2. AS a new Stormcast player with the new Battletome and some minis preordered to go with my mostly-Dominion army this thread has been a great resource for everything new from the Tome. Astral Templars having Vanguard Hunters & Palladors as battleline looks good since I own both. I've found a good amount of what I need to see from the new book and exactly *one post about the Vanguard-Palladors and if they're any good or not. It wasn't an encouraging post. Anyone else seen the warscroll for the Palladors? Good, mediocre, terrible?

  3. Greetings, pirates of the skies. I just bought my battletome because shooty sky pirates are way too cool to pass up. I'm also brand new to the game and will be making my KO purchases soon. I would like to know what allied unit you folks would choose for a tanky melee unit to hold objectives if you were flying the flag of Barak-Thryoing (1 in 4 units can be Duardin with Take Your Help Where You Can Get It) or if you were adding something from the list of allies (Dispossessed , Fyreslayers, Ironweld Arsenal, Stormcast Eternal) for the same reason and why that unit? So far my list is going to be built around a Grundstock Escort Wing battalion with Ironclad & Gunhaulers if that makes any difference.

I just checked it out in the app for skullcrushers, and it appears you’re correct.   I haven’t used the juggernaut riders; I had thought it was per unit.  But rolling for each model that makes it within 1” is awesome!   Definitely whip that big unit with a Bloodstoker to get their charge off.

Thanks. It took a lengthy search but I found kind of an indirect answer that supports the MW for every mini charging.

  5. Just to make sure I'm getting this rule right before I commit $$ and time painting to Bloodcrushers or Skullcrushers I want to ask about the Murderous Charge ability. For every model with this ability I make a roll after charging, 2+ I do a mortal wound to an enemy within 1", D3 MW if my charging unit has 6+ models. The MW roll happens after all of my minis are done charging. Specifically if I have 6 charging minis with this ability I will make 1 roll for each that "hits" on 2+ with every successful roll doing D3 MW and the potential for 6 D3 MW, only 1 MW each if the charging unit is 5 or less minis, correct?  I need to be sure that it's not just MW scored once but with multiple 2+ rolls to "hit". Seems like a pretty tough ability if every charging  mini scores MW.

  6. @Agent of Chaos thanks a lot. I had read elsewhere about the Skull Cannons being something you don't want to keep in back because it's not really a fire line kind of unit and it needs to move up & attack like you said. Reapers of Vengeance is now under serious consideration, like Gortide might be out about 5 minutes from now. Hadn't really dove into the Slaughterpriest options yet. Thanks again.

  7. Greetings, blood gents. I'm brand new to AoS (used to play Shadespire) and this is my first list. I like lower model count armies but don't know if there's enough bodies in this army. I won't be playing in tournaments but at least half of my future opponents do. I haven't bought everything for it yet so changes can be made. Haven't picked arifacts yet. Any feedback would be great. Blood for the blood god.
