Tbh I think there is some merit in a Kragnos-army theory.

If we assume the design team was working on a revamped BoC line and as part of that discovery work realized that the updated line would fit more into Destruction, they would solve a number of things (which I believe would make the decision logical). A few observations:

    - BoC lore of "destroying civilisation" kinda fits Destruction GA better than Chaos, and it would allow them to flesh out GA Destruction a bit more - so more balance between GAs

    - Removing current BoC from AoS, gives them the opportunity to place it in TOW, breathing more energy into that system which would make the Forgeworld profit center and stakeholders happy. A revamp within AoS and re-placing them into destruction would mean retcon the lore which is kinda bad

    - Adding a "new" Kragnos lead line on top might have been too close to BoC look and feel to co-exist

    - The different <ChaosGod>-gors would naturally fold into those battletomes respectively, Chaos monsters would have to be removed, replaced by new stuff probably along same lines in terms of visual identity but very different lore as not Chaos but Destruction instead

The good thing is if that would hold true, we would probably be looking at BoC descendant faction in a couple of years (although I suppose more like 4-5yrs than 1-2...)

    Very interesting reflection.
Look what happened to Tomb kings: the Ossiarchs are the tomb kings of Aos...now what? How will the beasts evolve? (or devolve, in this specific case 🙂

The non-deletion of the dedicated Bray herds (tzaangor and slaangor) portends two important things: 1) in the future we will see pestigor and khorngor 2) as was the case with the Ossiarchs in AOS 2E, I believe this edition will see a new narrative arc that will lead to a new Chaos faction.

Shaved the hammer head down and painted the nose guard to match existing trim. Does it help?

It helps, but again many of the participants around here probably think I'm a bit of a "mood breaker" (even if so: why not? 🙂 ), but I think the new Liberators helmet is worse than its predecessor.
Is it really a divine dwarven forge capable of doing this? I don't know.

ps: I I would have really liked it if the new stormcasts had maintained an even more humanized and refined face, like this:

Did you want Abraxia to wear a bikini or a gala dress, or undergo Chaos plastic surgery, so you can clearly identify her as a woman ? Since you have trouble identifying a woman in full plate armour, maybe you need her to have a change of dress so it can better fit your representation of a woman. Or did you expect a female Chaos Lord to look like, idk, Sydney Sweeney or Zendaya ?

Why should that be even relevant? Besides, there is a whole spectrum of physical features in humans, and I'm glad GW utilises the differences by introducing more realistic and less stereotypical forms.

Don't present your speculation about the design process as an "unquestionable fact" if you have no insight or intel about the process. Oh, and sure, you know the conceiver is a "he".

Guys, replying to each of you would lead to opening a separate topic.
As someone else said, for me let's forget about the discrepancies between aesthetic opinions, because the issue is taking a ridiculous turn. I don't give a damn about explaining to some random guys on the internet what the rules are for defining a feminine form or not (I have the professional skills to do it, I'm a concept artist).

Having said that, back to topic and peace! 👍

Ah, that "that 1 degree tilt" is a "boob-plate". Ooooook, thanks for teaching me this, mr Smith 🤭

The breastplate is elongated around the pectoral line and has a clear chamfer off from that line. That is how you fit a breastplate to a large female form while maintaining as much protection as possible from blows collapsing the form.

As to the face, the bone structure of the cheeks is classically feminine in nature.

She's not the face of classical art beauties, nor something in between. She is the face of a large framed buff woman.

I'm not sure what else to say on it other then google some strongwoman images and female breastplates.
I am sorry to have derailed the thread with my response. I should have just scrolled on past like I have been. I am opting out of this very stale topic.

Over to James Workshop with the weather!

In any case, there seems to be two schools of thought around here, "those who demand specific concepts" and "those who are more generalist". I'm part of the first and I don't think I've gone off topic in talking about a miniature that has yet to be released.

@GloomkingWortwazi In a place that thrives on the exchange of points of view I find it a little childish to take it personally if a user writes a non-biased reflection (therefore ignoring anything that has happened here in the past). For me the miniature is cool, but whoever conceived it was very lazy and this is an unquestionable fact: he simply took a Chaos Lord on Karkadrak and a Varanguard and mixed them, that's it.

I really love that we have to have the same 2 or 3 discussions/arguments whenever there’s a female model/s. Always so much fun.

I mean, I simply expressed an opinion on a model that is very cool for me, but which has the flaw of being unnecessarily generic.
I've been following aos since 2015 and I still remember when the new Alarielle came out, it was objectively a shock, because it was a super specific sculpture, which left nothing to chance.

I mean she has a feminine face and boob plate, what more would you want?

I prefer that woman doesn't look like at woman than a woman which look too female with a ton of ****** armour and other sexists things. She has a female face and it's the only thing that we allow us to identify her like a woman. Yes. When you see that the only thing that allow us to recognize a woman at Sister of Battle it's not their face but their ****** armour.

I like both, but I prefer Abraxia to a "Chaos Warrior with ******".

I really can't see "these traits", boob plate+feminine face, you noticed in the model, guys 😕 (I'm serious, not joking)

I don't get this comment that a few people have made and normally it doesn't bother me - but for some reason this does. I think because I keep wondering what on earth people were expecting her to look like?

She's a daemonic muscled woman warrior.
She has feminine cheekbones, and she has a buff woman's shape in her torso armour.

She also has masculine features, the same way a very buffed up warrior woman might.
The same way that an effeminate male can have feminine features ("Oh, Hi Sigvald!").

Everyone's welcome to having an opinion, but I personally don't get the complaint.

    /rant

Simple, forget the name for a moment and look only at the figure: what tells you that'a a woman warrior?
Mine is not a rant or complaint, GW simply has the potential to be the "least generic possible", it has demonstrated this many times (if you need examples of objectively female figures I'll give you some without any problems), but sometimes it seems to be lazy in concepts.

Abraxia is a nice miniature but I feel like the creature's back needs something to make silhouette more interesting. First rough idea:

She needs a better color scheme, this is full of boring colors.
And a little personal touch: the sculture is awesome, but why make female characters that don't have ANY feminine traits?
    It's non sense.

The only thing they are very late of doing is refresh "World War II's old models".

BUT...if the new narrative brings back a guy named Morghur...well, will be appreciated :)

    Ok here's my Stormcast theory.

Dacian Anvil and Gabriel Surehart are dead.

Knight zephyros, Knight Questor, Lord Castellant, farstriders and Steelhearts's Champions are gone.

Liberators, Lord Celestant, Prosecutors,  Judicators and lord Relictor are getting new models. Prosecutors and Judicators will be just one warscroll each.

There will be about 5 new units. That would leave us with about 4 fewer warscrolls than there are now.

100% they will have invented something to reduce the number of warscrolls present in the tome, because most of them are useless on a conceptual level (not even in terms of rules).
As I already said, taking inspiration from the skull helmet of Ionus and the relictor, in my opinion we will see the death company stormcast. A chamber dedicated to those who have gone mad over the centuries and whom Sigmar continues to exploit as mindless weapons (Sigmar lied!)

I think we would have more Stormcast than 25. They don't have that many elite units that go on pulls of 5, do they?

If we go bigger in investment, as has been rumoured, I would say we can see 2 different units of 10 from the Stormcast side.

I hope this time they take inspiration from the cyclical success of the 40k boxes. No cards, no special characters and lots of variety, in both factions.

    But above all: BIG MODELS!

ps: I think we'll see "the stormcast death company" in the ruination chamber, I have this feeling.

So, remember that dozen factions for Dawnbringers?

Book 1: Fyreslayers, Flesh Eater Courts, Gloomspite Gitz, Nurgle

    Book 2: Ironjawz, Gloomspite Gitz

    Book 3: Stormcast Eternals, Sylvaneth

Book 4: Flesh Eater Courts, Soulblight Gravelords

Book 5: Daughters of Khaine, Cities of Sigmar

So that only leaves 2 more factions (which I presume will be Slaves to Darkness and Blades of Khorne for Her Highness in Ruin and Khorgos Khul).  Also makes me realize that so far after the first book every book has only ever given new models to two factions at a time.

Dunno, I hope dawn bringer 5 is more than "mrs. No-one-asked-for".
At the end of 3rd I wanna coount how many order models GW put out, compared to other factions.

    Who asked you? 👺

It is extremely obvious that my arm uhm "Disciples of Tzeentch" need awesome sorcerer-warriors, a Fatemaster, maybe some clown from the world that was (Aekold would fit lorewise, Egrimm would be a nice centerpiece), perhaps new Forsaken... Malerion-lovers are used to waiting by now,, so they definitely won't mind 🤙

What did I ask to Santa?
No more finecasts (new Fatemasters and Blue Scribes), a central piece for mortals (Engrimm's cousin is fine) and an elite arcanite unit like the Evocators, with weapon options. End.

    It's too much?

I mean the last wave of skaven we had was in theory back in warhammer fantasy emd times.

or of you don’t count that 5-6years earlier then that.

The 4th edition box will be stormcast vs skaven at 99%.

But this doesn't mean that Tzeentch is one of the armies that most needs an expansion and it is not a question of seniority, otherwise we would not have had Kruleboyz and new IJs, but Mawtribes and Spiderfang as "Destruction news" in this edition.

I'd say for 4th my wishlist or expectations would be:

    Exception - Stormcast

Priority 1 - Skaven/Ogors/Beasts of Chaos (full range refresh)

    Priority 2 - Idoneth/Ossiarch/Kharadron/Fyreslayers (large release wave)

Priority 3 - Soulblight/Nighthaunt/Sylvaneth(kurnothi)/Kruleboyz/Sons of Behemat/Lumineth/S2D/Nurgle/Tzeentch/Gloomspite(gitmob/frazzlegitz)/Daughters of Khaine (small release wave)

Priority 4 - Chaos duardin/Malerion dark elves/Drogrukh/Grungni duardin (new faction)

Priority 5 - Ironjawz/Flesh eaters/Cities of sigmar/Seraphon/Khorne/Slaanesh (recent release wave or full roster, single hero mini/warcry unit)

Now, I don't want to be a "party pooper", but the last wave of disciples of tzeentch dates back to March 2017... nuff said.

478 days. We are still midway to the longest one to be resolved 😅

I mean...mine wasn't a competition to see who can count the days better 😅

Rather, I was reflecting on the fact that GW has a rather boring way of dealing with RE.
Why? Aside from the fact that some RE are excessively generic, so it's not even fun to theorize about them, but they are truly distributed at random.

You think there's still more Death heroes for book 4 ?

Of course: at least the morghast lieutenant and a resculpted Cairn Wraith (my bet for the "spooky silhouette").

Then Dawnbringers V. I want to see what centerpiece we chaotics deserved.
