All Moonclan, Spiderfang, and Troggoth is being rolled into Gloomspite (plus Gargants).  Nothing is being rebranded, however not everything is GROT.  Certain things are only MOONCLAN, SPIDERFANG, etc.  Most seems to prevent hiding fanatics where it wouldn't make sense and other odd rules interactions.  No Gitmob, however.  They can still ally in, as can Bonesplitters and Greenskins.

That's awesome, thanks for the answer - 58 pages is a lot to sift through for pretty simple but specific info.

Are any warscrolls toast? I see that the fanatics have been split into two types, and I'm guessing the old one is obsolete now? And that Gloomspire grots don't have a spear unit, those are Moonclan?

I'm getting most of my info off the AOS app, so I'm not sure what's fully up to date yet. I know there's no option for Gloomspire allegiance in Azyr.

  2. I've been out of the game for over a year now, but seeing these little hooligans makes me wanna... you know.

Is it confirmed which factions are included in Gloomspire? Is it all Moonclan, Troggoth and Gargant? I'm guessing some Moonclan stuff is being re-keyworded as Gloomspire as well? Any love for Gitmob?

Also, what is the allies situation?

Gameplay wise (not modelling as that’s fairly obvious) would someone explain why 50s are worse than 40s. 2” range still allows you to attack over the front rank (for Ironguts).   The greater board coverage is surely useful especially with such a low mode count?

The gameplay nerf applies to standard Ogors.

  4. I've been out of AoS for about 10 months now, and am getting back into with a new army. Gutbusters 1k is my first goal, with eventual BCR allies.

I've run Ogor bulls alongside my greenskinz (sidenote - my Ogors will ALL be greenskins, thanks to Nob heads) and they've always done really well as battleline. For sure they're underestimated.

I go double hw, though - why is the iron fist suggested as better? If your opponent has rend - and most units seem to these days - it's fairly useless.

I don't know much about the new edition, but I'm looking forward to seeing what, if anything, is new for these guys.

You'll need to spam FW for Legion of Azgorth updates.

    lol

They still haven't rectified the many editorial errors on their initial warscrolls, released what, almost two years ago now? Though I'm sure they're right behind the super important alternate Space Marine shoulder pads. Seven pads for 32 pounds!

It seems there are certain sub-factions/allegiances that any given sub-faction can ally with.  It does not seem like there is a free-for-all on allying.

I am concerned by this, considering my use of Legion of Azgorh, which will most certainly be overlooked for some time.

  7. Allies - so far, we're thinking that you can still ally with any faction from the same GA, but if they're not your main faction's designated allies, then they break allegiance? Or is it going to turn out that not every faction under the same GA can be taken together anymore?

  8. The Dread Saurian wasn't included... I think that's the most interesting thing here. Does this mean there are units now that may not be updated in the GHB2? I think, knowing FW's editing proficiency, it's probably an error of omission rather than anything else.

I can understand your point about it, but until less than a month ago, bloodletters were provided in 25mm so it is nto like I'm trying to play the system. I already rebased from squared which I understood, but now again?

It's totally frustrating to have the rules change, and to have a lot of physical work to go with it. It's also frustrating for competitive players to go up against an opponent with a perceived advantage. It's a ruling that has to be made, but they probably should've waited until next year.

  10. Huh that is weird - the models don't seem like they're too big for 25s.

Here's how it is, though - I think it's safe to say that most people and tournaments doing matched play measure from base? There's no official agreed upon base size for units (except when they come with a specific base size) but there is a general idea that they should go on an equivalent size to their squares - 25mm rounds for 20 mm squares, 32mm rounds for 25mm squares etc. I'm fine with that. If tournaments don't have specific guidelines they usually have a "don't game the system" clause, meaning don't be a ****** and put your larger infantry on smaller bases. In the context of the rules the tournament is going by, it's cheating. I'd be annoyed to see a unit of 20 Ard Boyz on 25mm rounds. They'd be getting a shitload of attacks in.

The new daemon bases are tricky - I believe they were on 25mm squares? Seems unfair to force players to rebase again, but if you want to play the tournament scene you've got to play by the tournament rules - TOs don't owe players anything. It's a private event, and if it's competitive they want to make sure that it's fair for all players.

It sucks, but if I were a new Khorne player using the 32s I got in the box and went up against an older Khorne player using 25s, I'd be annoyed at least.
