Looks like the male Knight Incantor comes with a getting started magazine. Original Stormcast set from the first AoS starter will also be released as a Start Collecting set. So it looks like that is where the Lord Relictor will be.

I might get the Stormcast start collecting stuff. All of this sounds pretty good for people who want to get in.

I think you really have a point there, the thing about humans is that we relate to stuff. Lots of people want something in their armies they can relate to for that matter, and I think a lot of the old fantasy setting is being destroyed needlessly to create this new, alien-like fantasy world.

I would love if they toned down the "innovative" side a bit and go back to regular fantasy designs, or at the very least keep it at a 50:50 ratio. I would also love if they would go back to having fantasy themes inspired by real world cultures. Tomb Kings was great in that regard, taking both egyptian and indian themes in their designs. I would love for there to be some armies around araby culture, nippon culture, etc. I find it very unlikely that even though the old world got destroyed that none of those cultures still exist.

Recently there was a kickstarter by Titan Forge called Dragon Empire, displaying high end Samurai miniatures and other japanese inspired models, the kickstarter was a huge success. I think GW is really missing a huge market by not capitalizing on that kind of stuff and I really hope they do soon :)

At this point, we run into the Warhammer Fantasy problem of "it's this culture, but with this thing" gimmick that we see with the Empire, Brets, Ogres, Lizardmen, and Tomb Kings. It becomes repetitive when you have seen medieval fantasy European knights on the board over and over again. It's fine to want those things, but it is everywhere once you look around at other major or minor miniature gaming companies.

A look at the new heroes for the Stormcast.

    Interesting background on Firestrike.

    Quote

Aventis Firestrike was once a battlemage of the Agloraxi Empire that ruled the Great Parch, thrust into war by the coming of Khorne. Mastering pyroclastic sorceries in his search for revenge, his vengeful rampage was only ended after he has incinerated scores of the Khorne Bloodbound who defiled his home.

Reforged as a Lord-Arcanum, Aventis has returned to his ancestral home in Aqshy as the Grand Magister of Hammerhal – he will not stand to see Chaos take another city, and has vowed not to rest until he has taken a traitor’s life for every citizen of the Great Parch that died during the notorious Red Century…

Stormcast can't be corrupted by chaos they detail that in novels. A GUO outright says he can't. The whole point of being a stormcast is that they rose above that and chosen to be a holy warrior.  While becoming a follower of chaos is giving into mortal weakness.

What we are going to see is the after effects of too many reforgings imagine the knight's excelsior after several reforgings? People think the white reaper is bad? Oh boy.  The whole point is that stormcasts have souls but they are losing it to the conflict and becoming machines of war dedicated to sigmar due to the reforging issue.

One of the reasons that I like Age of Sigmar is that Chaos is no longer that big boogie man that we saw in Fantasy.

    New books!

Speaking of Stormcast Eternals, David Guymer is bringing his popular self-styled greatest of them all back in a full-length novel. Hamilcar: Champion of the Gods has the Astral Templars Lord-Castellant captured by skaven and desperate to escape and survive – and we finally get to see what Hamilcar looks like in some spectacular cover art.

Josh Reynolds is also returning to familiar servants of Sigmar in Hallowed Knights: Black Pyramid, a follow-up to Plague Garden which will see Gardus the Steel Soul and his warrior chamber taking the fight to Nagashin Shyish itself – which is certainly fitting with the Soul Wars beginning.

Some. As implied by the phrase "other than the ones already shown". At least the hero on a Gryphasus.

Be you seen the Warhammer fest stuff? If not, we know of alternate versions of some of the starter box heroes, another hero, dual build kits of all units in the starter box, new cavalry. May be more will come as well

Thanks. Is that what the winged ram mount is called? A Gryphasus?
