You get easier to hit. 2+attacks but it costs you -1 on your save roll.

Will be really interesting how thay word the rules for the Stormhost since these characters are exclusive to Hammers if Sigmar. Will there be named characters for other Stormhosts? Or can the others just use generic mounted L-Arcanums and K-Incantors? Would be really cool if the battletome hade warscrolls for famous commanders of the other Stormhosts that used the already available models like if you have a Hallowed Knights army you could use a Gardus Steelsoul warscrolls for your Lord-Celestant on foot or a Morris Grymn for your L-Castellant.

Since there are a few Hammerhal projects going in here, may I ask what you are doing for bases on them? I haven't come up with anything I like so for now the adversaries just get my standard chaos bases, ash waste with brown tufts of grass.

Yea they turned out quite nice! I used green as spot-color on the Sorcerer Lord so just keept going to tie them together. They are his underlings after all!
It's Caliban Green base, then Kabalite Green and Warpstone Glow as highlight. Thinking of dotting in some Moot Green at the extremes when I pick up the brushes tonight when the kids are asleep.

I'm always a fan of a nice Skaven conversion and these are great! Are you planing anything different for the HPA or do like the kit as it is? I'm assuming you won't convert 110 giant rats??

I used the Hunters and an Aquilor as general in a tournament a few weeks ago and they did good. The Hunters turned up in 1st or 2nd turn and annoyed warmachine crews and wizards. Neutralized a Bretonnian Trebuchet before it got to strike in one game. They also pulled of a nice bait-and-switch in one game where they lured a big unit of swordmasters to the table edge and next turn vanished and then turned up on the other side of the board to contest a comet in Gifts from the Heavans.
It takes some thinking ahead but it's nice when you pull of the Aquilors command ability. One turn-be in position, one turn-vanish, one turn-appear and do something worthwhile.
Try them out and see what shenanigans they can accomplish.
Oh, and for beginners, arm them with Sabres so the have the same hit/wound rolls as the xbows, makes it easy to remember.

If it is a dual kit for Alariell and the bug don't you guys think it will be like others we have seen? One name'd character, Alariell, and one generic hero/leader? Like the mega-boss on Maw-crusha.
What then would the generic one be like? A super-charged branchwraith perhaps?

Take Strife-Ender and Heroe of The Realms with Tempestos Hammer, take Tempest Lords stormhost and keep it near some friendlies and have some fun! Heraldor for run+charge so you get the charge you want?
