Seeing the Annihilators’ stats, I’m thinking this for the x-bow Orruks as my guess:

    2W, 4+ saves.
1 shot, 2 if they stand still, of 3+/3+, -2, 2, and do 2 mortal wounds on 6’s to hit instead of normal dmg.

Maybe some rule for ambushing or being harder to hit while in cover or something.

I’m predicting 5+ saves for the new orruks all round on the troops, more armour than bonesplittas less than Ironjawz, +1 in combat/vs shooting for the shield boys, 6s do mortals on everything as they all have poison coated weapons

Whitefang may tease us mercilessly, but they've never deliberately lied to use, preferring to simply be ambiguous (and thus constantly breathing life into the rumor thread.)

They also don't need to. There are two primary theories about the upcoming faction (those being solo faction and bundled into Warclans) and they're both going strong, with a few sub-theories attached to each. We're doing a good enough job on our own ;)

For my part, I buy into the Warclans theory, particularly since it seems pretty certain that Destruction is getting their time in the spotlight this edition, and the orruks are the poster Boyz of that grand alliance. I also don't see orruks getting the aelf treatment, as they don't seem to be nearly as popular.

I think they’ll get the LoN/ Nighthaunt treatment  where Kruel Boyz will have their own book as well as be playable in warclans then throughout the edition we’ll see bonesplittas and Ironjawz parted back into their own times once they each get a model wave

Having read some of the darker parts of Warhammer's lore for greenskins, one would have to shudder at the thought of what an orc would have to do to earn the title of "cruel" from their fellows.

Perhaps they deprive their foe of a meaningful fight? Relying instead on the anarchistic and barbaric methods of tactful diplomacy? Or, Gorkamorka forbid, they treat goblins with respect and offer them companionship on the same level as one of the boys? Stories abound of the Kruel boyz' horrifying methods of determining their leaders, electing them through "democratic processes" and base their skills not on size and brutality, but mental acuity and vision for,  I shudder to even type this out, a more peaceful tomorrow.

Truly, even the Gods of Chaos fear what lies in the dank swamps and mires of the Mortal Realms...

I recon the Kruel Boyz are gunna be the more kunninly brutal kind of Orruk using the swamp to their advantage and sneaking around using ambush tactics

Looking at the size of the arrows, if indeed this is a Dracoline sized beast, could this be a new Ogor Icebrow Hunter? Or an entire new unit of Ogor Beast Hunters?

If you look at the ogor warcry band you can see the metal rings like these on the arrow the gnoblars holding

so having some more thoughts about this image, it appears to be the 3 grot clans Moonclan/ Gloomspite gitz on the far right being our cave dwellers, Evil sunz/ Grotbag scuttlers on the left (definitely a future race/clan to be expanded on) which will be our sky/ plains grots and then the bigger black face in the middle that looks tougher than the others with a bigger nose and more teeth, I recon that’s our new lads but what clan are they and what could their name be? Hobgoblin Khanate? Boglin Fenlords? Hoblin Boglords?

So does anyone else think these rumor engine pics are part of the new Boglin faction?

The only one I’d say isn’t from the same faction/ design que’s is the curved spear tip with the spiked collar (7),  it’s definitely destruction but more Ironjawz or Ogor in design, if you look at the rest of the weapons there more just bits of tree with some metal spikes and bits nailed on and bashed together that one looks a bit more refined, and again the vultures could be from new ogors maybe some new beast riders with hunting vultures like the stonehorn/ thundertusk riders can take

One thing I love about the TGA forums is even though we may disagree on things, it never becomes hostile. This isn't a place where we throw words at each other over our toys, we are a strong and respectful community.

    Apes together strong

  8. They gave us one cool rule with the shield and the +1 bravery to all destruction to show he affected everyone without giving away a special rule... you know who else has an ability that affects all destruction? Gordrakk!

IMHO, I personally believe and think GW has almost reached their practical limitation of factions they can have at once.

Which means beside the necessary new faction such as Mally and Grungni’s buddies (no read into these, we know they will eventually come despite how long it takes) we are unlikely to see splitting current factions.

The oracle has spoken only faction updates from here on out

  10. As others have said there needs to be a way to tell the models apart, if you have 4 Stegadons one has an engine, one a bow, one sun streak throwers and the other has a chief. as your opponent how can I tell? If there different colours that helps but I’d be likely to forget that during a game with so much other stuff going on.

  11. I’m personally a big destruction fan for smash lists

BCR is an easy one to start and build with just start collecting boxes make a Eurlbad and extra frostlords. probably the most bang for your buck here

Ironjawz again with start collecting boxes and a mawcrusher or 2 makes you a Gorefist, Ironfist or Ardfist bit more expensive because of the extra mawcrushers but more options available

Troggherd is also low model count but probably the weakest of the 3 a couple of dankholds a hag and mix of rock gut and fellwater, better if you pick up the special white dwarf rules and batallion

Good point! I suppose I'm just craving a bit of lore for the group dynamic of Gordraks Waagh. How it holds itself together, what life is like in the warcamp, the hierarchy. I imagine it's organized chaos, but would be nice to get a bit of world building canonized.

The pure chaos going on in the war camps would be hilarious to see, I imagine the ogors and large orruks would get on fairly well (in relative terms)  and have a good share of grot kicking, squig eating, mounted races and brawls, groups of night goblins going round shanking the one guy that kicked/sat on their mate, the odd shaman exploding, from the short skarrgrot story we see a glimpse with the orruks jeering at him but doubt they’d actually try anything against him for fear of being turnt into a giant mushroom (a non sentient one) the giants are probably kept well clear of by everyone and the beast corrals are probably much the same with fights going on and opportunistic squigs jumping in for a feast on the looser, again the Bosses would be much the same with Megabosses and tyrants pretty much on the same page of being the biggest and strongest but all under gordrakk

If we get an updated mancrusher kit maybe it could be one male and one female. It would be awesome if it had some options for other scrolls as well, like a cannon/ballista(crossbow for these guys) for a ranged variant

The mancrusher and the manhoodcrusher, with her death by snu snu attacks

  14. So for the last 3 years I’ve wrote a small predictions list of what I think we’ll get releases wise with about 60% accuracy... ie: stormcast splash release (which has came true every year) is a fairly easy one to predict that the poster boys will get at least 1 model. Some of it is influenced by my own wish listing ofc which is mainly where most of the inaccuracies lie 🙃 and the early stuff for the year is all but confirmed however here’s my list of predictions/ wish list

    Predictions:

    general stuff

1.New edition with the end of the broken realms story

    2. New edition of underworlds

    3. new edition of warcry/ more warbands similar to DoK

    4. Possible return of cursed city once they sort out suppliers ect

    5. further removal of FW stuff so they just make HH/ The old world and other side game bits like BB and replacements for FW kits that have survived with new plastic ones and replace everything else resin with a new plastic kit (I think this process has already began with Be’lakor and Kroak)

    Order:

1.Order of Azyr in the new starter box with similar appearance to the knight in Cursed city (hence why they’ve been confused with stormcast in the rumour)

    2. Grungi’s dwarves (he’s got busy is broken realms books)

    3. Kurnothi (Kragnos?)

    Chaos:

    1. Slaves to darkness range update (new furies rumour engine image?)

    2.new Valkia and khorne battletome

    Death:

    1. FEC named character

    2. Nighthaunt (candles and smoke rumour engine)

    Destruction:

    1. New Gitmob in the starter edition with lots of wolves, chariots, pump wagons and some artillery potential also mounted on chariots. Lots of crude weapons and bits in the Rumour engine images

    2. The silent ones. (rumour engine picture of a insect coming from an egg maybe their terrain is a hatchery? Similar to the Kalaxxi from wow)

Wishlist (this will mainly be destruction)

Updates to Orruks:  new ardboys, new unit type for savages to represent the brutes that have gone savage, wyverns with shamans and big bosses, Rokboys (these were mentioned in a book) 2/3 Almost Megaboss sized orruks with loads of armour with a range of weapons (great weapons, dual weapons, shield), new Rogue idol

Children of the sun eater, huge ogors covered in tattoos and burns, with their sun worshiping grot attendants

more troggoths like the sulphur breath that’s mentioned, bigger dankholds, throgg as their king and a new hag model maybe even their own alligance where you can still take some in GG

uodates to OM: plastic frost sabers, yetis, hero’s and maneaters and a named Overtyrant model and another mounted unit like rhinox and a  mammoth with a howdah of ogors or a throne for the frostlord/ overtyrant

dragonkin just to give destruction some variety rather than Greenskins and pseudo giants, with a range of whelps, young dragons and huge elder dragons maybe with kobold followers to give them some chaff so their different from SoB

    Unexplored fantasy’s:

Werewolves, fey, more types of beastmen, golems, tech necromancy, elementals....

  15. So I have some theory’s on what’s going on possibly with the destruction story and what I think will be happening at the start of 3rd edition.

as for the 3rd edition starter and rumours being hobgoblin vs bretonnian stormcast. I think we’re going to have Gordrakk smashing excelsis and breaking into Azyr in a Broken realms book if there’s more after Kragnos or partially in Kragnos. The starter is going to be the vanguard forces of the order of Azyr mounted knights such as the knight seen in CC (similar armour to stormcast so easy to see why they thought stormcast) vs the vanguard of Gordrakks waaagh the “Gitmob” grots charging in on their wolves, chariots, and crude warmachines (pump wagons and grotbag ships) with their “Grom the paunch” like leader on his huge chariot leading the charge

Megabrutes? I hope for an even larger Gore-Grunta type beast maybe a huge Tri Horned Rhino or a Gore-Grunta chariot.

Though a Dankhold sized Ironjaw would be bloody fantastic, literally.

I’ve spoke about this before, in a black library book can’t remember which There’s a mention of Orruk Rok boyz that are huge By Orruk standards and covered head to toe in huge steel plates so much that there even slower than normal Ironjawz because they wear so much armour. another thing mentioned is the skybashas clan has brutes riding on scrap metal hover boards (think green goblin) they would make another awesome unit. and then to add more unit variety I think they would have to change some lore a little as regards to ironjawz not using ranged weapons ardboys do forge their armour as they aren’t tough enough to punch it into shape like brutes, so they could possibly create some war machines or ranged weapons even just throwing axes,  catapults or cannons could fit well enough. Look again to wows iron horde and tell me you wouldn’t want to see a brute running around in an Ironstar completely out of control

In my mind forgeworld is largely irrelevant, be it for AoS or 40k. Don't care what models they do or do not make, whether they have rules, whatever. I don't want overpriced boutique resin with unreliable rules.

There’s one AoS model that I see as relevant, the rogue idol, the only thing that’s a big useful threat as it can get buffer by both Bonesplittaz and Ironjawz makes it grossly overpowered
