  1. I deem these bottom-feeder barnacle-boys worthy adversaries.

The turtle fortress and octopus and encroaching on Spiderfang territory, but i'll take it as a compliment.

If gaming in the last 20 years has learned me anything its that these guys will be weak against lighting elemental damage. Also a hard counter for them will be plastic bags and those plastic things that hold beer cans together.

Let us not forget that unlike in the Old World, in AoS almost any faction can pop up almost anywhere, not only due to the Realmgates, but also because most factions are highly mobile.

Surely the equilibrium that is reached in such a mobile environment without barriers, is that factions group together in their safest areas. Basically like a prison yard.

  3. My only beef with the new geographic homelands of factions in the new world is that they seem too safe. A good setting should have constant threats from enemy factions based in the same geographic setting (e.g. goblins/dwarfs/skaven in mountains).

These underwater elfs just own the entire seabed? The Kharadrons have no sky-based enemy factions? No other lava-dwelling factions for the lava-dwarfs? Does ANYTHING live in the woods anymore?

  4.  Yeah was thinking it must relate to new rules or scrolls not yet revealed Eg grots get mortal wounds on retreat again. . Goblin command ability could be good for goregruntas though (subtle hint in the photo!)

Ghost guy seems great for nighthaunt though.

    Tyler Mengel has produced tutorials for WHC representing the following AoS factions;

Death, Daughters of Khaine, Moonclan, Stormcast and is now doing one for Nurgle.

    That can't be a coincidence.

Yup its been a great predictor of the stuff thats coming for a while now. They don't pick this stuff at random. Hence my excitement when they started painted grots, then BAM a week later they announce a new grot model.

Based on painting tutorials we can bank on death, grot, and witch elf models incoming.

Some horrible octopus or squid thing? This one's surprisingly clear for a rumour engine, not just a scrap of a topknot or some smoke.

What do folks think about the size? I think you can see the coarseness of the paint, it doesn't look very large.

Perhaps the size of a small hopping cave animal?

Not been paying much attention to events but is that right? I thought they were allowed as per the GW ruling (can't remember if in FAQ or just for GW Heats) but you get the Firestorm rules if you drop the Grand Alliance rules.

As for the Malign Portents stuff, I'm really, really excited about what Legions of Nagash will bring but then GW also showed off lots of stuff for 40K (Adeptus Custodes!!!!!!) so I'm having a wobble! :D

Can't remember which upcoming tournament it was but yeah the pack said no firestorm allegiances. I thought the faq said you can take firestorm allegiance WITH grand alliance allegiance.

In this case it doesn't matter in terms of army choice for me, so happy to go with the tournament rules, but in terms of a big deal like malign portents, i wouldn't want to invest in a some new army if its' going to be illegal to use at events.

Perhaps. I think this is not a very elegant solution though, as I get the feeling some factions are going to cross over into multiple legions.

Deathrattle for example, I think you'll find in all 4 legions (Nagash, and each Mortarch). Does that mean they should basically have 5 faction keywords (Deathrattle, Nagash, Night, Sacrament, Blood)?

Seems like a lot of keywords to add onto a warscroll. And I expect that Nagash's legion is going to be ALL Death. So to me, it makes more sense that they're defined similarly to how they did the Great Cities, by mentioning keywords and unit names.

Surely it'll be like Firestorm allegiances, i.e. in addition to GA Death, if your units come from specific list of keywords.

With a grain of salt: when my wife went to a GW store to offer me some skellies for Christmas (I was telling her about the Shadespire skeletons over and over and as she did not quite listened to me, now I am the happy owner of the skeleton horde SC \o/ ), so... between attempts to sell her Nagash (to start an army, really?!), he told her that there will be Death related releases in March.

    Actual rumour here, folks!

This chimes with what I heard too.

  10. This new moonclan shaman is a Christmas miracle. Its not an orc and means this fungus theme will be the theme of an expanded grot roster hopefully.

Check out the fungus spore. Its like the one from the rumor engine. The rumor one was bigger so there are more fungus models incoming. Also check out that little baby squig-whale thing by his foot.

Oh boy this is gunna be so great you guys.
