A speedy brutal list. Drones getting +2 attacks in melee and +1 attack from CLoDM in shooting phase looks pretty nasty.

Thank you. So you think it's a valid try?

It has a pretty low model count so I'm a little doubtful, on the other hand this allows me to get Nurgle games in quickly, because the paintwork is tolerable.

  2. Hey guys,

how viable is it for Nurgle to mix Demon's and Rotbringers? You'll miss out batallions, but Blightkings and Plaguebearers are such solid core units, I would feel bad if I left one of them out.

How would this list do as a first 1000 pt. list:

    Allegiance: Nurgle

    Leaders
    Great Unclean One (340)
Chaos Lord On Daemonic Mount (140)

    Battleline
    5 x Putrid Blightkings (160)
    5 x Putrid Blightkings (160)

    Units
    3 x Plague Drones (200)

    Total: 1000 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 20
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 78

I'd use the CL with the flies and hope that the Bell and the FGM trees get the BK's in combat quickly. I was also thinking about taking Gutrod instead of the CL. I actually got 10 BK'S and an GUO painted, so I'm planning my next move to get some games in quickly and expand from there.

Well @Rogue Explorator we should get some info at the preview seminar at Warhammer fest 12th may (I can't wait :D

But remember, the rumors range from a Blightwar style boxset and a Magic supplement coming alongside a Nighthaunt battletome and then the FAQ in July, to a true new edition with a dedicated new Rulebook and Starter set.

We have proofs and rumors of several new units (Wizcast, Black Coach, Hangmen ghost are more or less confirmed + flying stormcast, ghast-caller, etc.), so full releases (i.e. bigger than just one new unit in Blightwar or Forgebane) are still likely...

What is at least 100% confirmed (not the release date) :

    - Magic stuff + etheric vortex models (purple sun).

    - New Stormcast and Nighthaunt models (at least 1 or more units per faction) / the novel Souls War by Josh Reynolds.

    - a FAQ in July.

The WIzcast, Hangman ghost and ghast-caller belong to which faction?

Would you be so kind and link me to the information you have just given?

I was planning to dive into the Death-Range recently. While I always loved the Death theme,  I realized after unpacking my Death Rattle SC! that they have a pretty outdated feel to them (especially skeletons).

I'm not sure if I wanna go all-in with hundreds of €'s or rather wait for a new release. My local GW-Clerk told me there is supposingly more AOS stuff coming this year than 40k stuff. But the skeleton models will probably remain a few years longer .

  4. Hi Chris,

thanks for your response! You can definetely tell that the chipping took a lot of time and effort. I was pretty sure you used a dark metal color and washed it down, instead of basecoating all black.

Of course you did an excellent job with the green skin, too. Skin is some of the hardest technique for me and your results are flawless. I hope it comes through patience and practice. Not painting skin was one of the factors for me to choose Death (and Necrons), though.

I just noticed that I accidentally posted in the wrong thread of yours. The Phoenix is very impressive, I already saw it on the picture gallery preview. The feathers most have taken aeons of time.  Even more so that you are an all-brush-painter, which I support, because I just don't like airbrushing, even if it makes things easier.

    Have a good day.

  5. Hi Chris,

I am here to tell you, that I thorouhly enjoy your painting work. You have a very clean and detailed style of painting and as far as I can tell, you are mostly using the brush and not the airbrush. It ist really nice to see that the good old brush can produce those amazing results. I enjoy your battle reports too, even if I am not playing IJ.

As I am here right now, I wanted to ask you which colour you used for the armor of your black sunz. Especially the dark metallic foundation is really intriguing since I am looking to paint some Black Knights and grave guard. The dark armor theme would be really nice looking on them.

    Have a nice day.

You don't need tolerance to appreciate a giant flying  war turtle chariot, you just need love and joy in your heart. And you don't need to apologize to us because you're dead inside, can't feel joy, and don't love the greatest thing ever - you should apologize to yourself.

You can't rain on this parade, Mr. No-Fun-Norman! We'll just fly over those clouds, riding our enchanted sky turtle chariots through the rainbow into a magical world of wonderment.

    *queue  90's cartoon theme music*
"Giant Magic Flying Tuuurtles, GIANT MAGIC FLYYING TUUURRTLES, GIANT MAGIC FLYYYING TUUUURRRRTLES..."

So 'goofy' is now a trigger.

    Wow.

By goofy I take you mean awesome and by ruin I take it you mean enhance!!!!!

"goofy, goofier, goofiest - giant turtle with elves on top paddling over a battlefield"

Usually I'm really tolerant, but I just can't compromise on this one. I'm sorry. :(

First they make AoS, they get their feedback. Then 8th ed. came after they've seen what worked or did not work on AoS and now having the feedback from 8th, is going to push in a better ruleset imo. Both rulesets AoS and 8th keep helping each other while implementing things that work better!

Not so much than unifying the ruleset of  both games imho.

I get a feeling we’ll see an AoS take on lizardmen or skaven next as they are fan favourites.

I'm curious about the skaven approach, since I always used to think they're a pretty neglected fan favorite, too.

Maybe we're wrong and their not a fan favorite in sales. Like in every 40K some Troll feels obligated to mention 'sisters of battle', who were never bought by  anyone, anytime, on any given life supporting planet.

It'll be a word list that automatically censors - not some 'they' who thought it inappropriate. Don't worry!

There were some "they" who inserted that word in this omnious word list, considering it inappropriate, though.

  11. The Death Hearld looks like pure awesomeness. Seriously a beautiful sculpt.

The Warqueen lacks interest, it's not a very intriguing model. No relevant features except of ******. But we get that enough in literally every niche of our life.

    Sad, since I play chaos.

Edit: Wow, they indeed just censored the word 'B*reasts' (No, not T*ts..., br*easts.)

    1) Brush all purpose (glue all) glue on the base.  (don't glob it on)
    2) Dip the base in the sand.
    3) Let dry for about an hour
    4) Brush non-diluted paint (straight out bottle or tube) and coat the base with desired mid-tone color. (For the Khorne I used Mechanicus standard Grey)
    5) Wash (For Khorne I used Agrax Earth shade)
    6) Drybrush (For khorne I used Karak Stone)
6 Apply toppings: Grass, Leafwork, Snow, Bushes, etc. (For my Khorne I used the GW snow from the pots, as well as grass tufts from Shadow's Edge Miniatures (Love that company!) I also applied some leafwork from Greenstuff world last knight. I felt it needed just something more)

I hope that helps, Norm! If you have any other questions, just ask.

Thanks for checking out my stuff!

Thanks alot for this comprehensive and quick answer mate! Keep your good work up.

  13. Hey Lysan,

I followed this thread and you did a great job, painting clean and good looking miniatures. I really love to see armies on the table, people actually put effort and Herzblut in.

I have a somewhat peculiar question about basedesign. I am never satisfied with my bases, I am basically searching for a clean baselook, which doesn't take hours to create put looks appropriate to an above TT standard.

So I'd like to ask how you did the Khorne Blood Bound snowy bases. The colors and material you used for them. I like the look quit a bit and this might be exactly what I'm looking for.

    Cheers

GW not long ago said they would be introducing more women and in better roles to their games. And yet she wears a metal bikini, #equality LOL

    I hear you, sister.

They should ditch that sexist breastplate and honor our heroines with a breast-feeding sigmarette sculpt.
