Is warhammer quest suitable for a 5 year old? Like playing with his dad. I want to get him into warhammer but not sure how. Xmas seems an opportunity.

    That’s a tough one.

The basic game would work with you and your son and reading the story elements to him could be a nice version of story time.

Though I’m not sure if the content of the stories are suitable for a 5 year old . . . Best way to answer would be if you read some of he story part of the book to see if it’s appropriate.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll see more scenery released alongside the new age.

I couldn’t agree more with this. I loved building and painting all my AoS scenery but would much rather have a few new sets than go the double archway route.

I’ve had my eye on the hellfort but his new version is just to excessive for me.

  3. The new warbands arrived today and they are pretty sweet. I was impressed how they fit so much stuff into such small boxes!

Hopeing to play my first games next weekend.

Does anyone know if one of the card packs in the expansions is a starter set like you get in the main game? I thought it would say on them but it isn’t obvious. (Not opening them yet so I don’t mix things up).

I’ve opened mine now and slowly assembling the Stormcast. It’s a fantastic looking game. Hope it gets a strong following for years

My partner worked late last night so I got in some sneaky build time.

I’ve now build both war bands, hopefully I can get the Blood Reavers sprayed this weekend.

Mines turned up but not had time to do anything bar look inside the box. Everything is still on sprue or wrapped up ?

Mine arrived yesterday, but like you I haven’t had a chance to open it or do anything with it yet. Looking forward to cracking it open and building the models this weekend.

I cannot recommend the GW sleeves.

That’s a shame I ordered both of them.

My copy hasn’t arrived yet, so can’t check for myself. Would you mind posting some pictures of what you described. If it looks as bad as you say I will return mine unopened.

  7. Ben Johnson said on the Warhammer TV stream an hour ago that Nurgle will get something soon.

They also repeated what I last posted in this thread there won’t be any real news until the Studio broadcast at Blood & Glory in November.

Just to be 100% clear he was asked by the chat if there will be more nurgle news he said “probably” then looked at the camera and gave a smile raising both eyebrows.

It's a little disappointing that you need a second core set for 3/4 player games. Space is important and most players will surely pick up the main box for the deck, I get the rationale, particularly if they're into it competitively.  But I was looking forward to getting the core set + skellies and throwing it down in front of more casual 'non-GW' gaming friends, as part of a board games night. Play a few rounds between Coup and Pandemic, that sort of thing.

I guess photocopying the board is always an option, maybe paste it to some heavy card and laminate?

I am in the same boat, I was planning to run this with regular board game night.

Looks like I will have to hold off introducing it to the gang until they release extra ‘pitches’ like blood bowl. I don’t want to buy the same set twice, if they put the Orks and Undead in another starter set I would get that to give me 3-4 player options.
