  1. App has new warscrolls up.

Skull Cannon got a bit of a buff. If it causes any wounds in combat it can fire not just a wound from its Gnashing Maw.

Lash on Bloodthirster of Unfettered Fury range jumped from 8 to 12 and its command ability is better from what I can see.

Bloodcrushers Murderous charge able to potentially do 6d3 mortal wounds to a single unit on the charge.

Bloodletters reroll charge without needing to kill a hero, as already pointed out

Although the Warhammer Community article suggested the Bloodmaster had some new synergy with Bloodletters, but I’ve seen no change.

  2. A friend has just started AoS and is building up a Seraphon army. We’re both having a little trouble with the Astrolith Bearer Rules and wondered if anyone could help.

In the June FAQ they removed the sentence from the Celestial Conduit Rules that defined what planting the Astrolith means (ie when you do it and what limitations it has). However the Proud Defiance rule still states it only works when the Astrolith is planted.

How are people managing this apparent gap in the rules?

  3. Question about the Briar Thorns ploy card “Sudden Appearance” which says:

Choose a friendly fighter and place them on any starting hex.

I’m comparing it with “Illusionary Fighter” - choose one of your fighters on the battlefield - and the Sepulchral Guard’s “Restless Dead” - Place a friendly fighter that was taken out of action.

Does “Sudden Appearance” mean you can pick any fighter even one previously taken out or is it just those in the battlefield?

Is anyone else converting spare Spirit of Torments from the box set to Chainghasts?  I am, it will save me buying a whole Chainghast  box and keep down what would have been a stupid oversupply of a Hero option.

With the spare heads from the chainghast box and a few spare maces this is definitely something I’m doing.

  5. Yes, so a potential tactic would be to use a cheap hero as General who stays off the board until you want to use Endless Legions. Maybe a Cairn Wraith - only 60 points. He then appears on the table near a gravesite (which needs to be within 15” of that table edge) and brings back a slain unit (or more than one if you have the CP)

Doing this means that you can keep the General safe from being sniped off to prevent slain models coming back. Give your artefacts to different heroes so all you’d lose is the command trait.

    Pondering if that’s worth it.

  6. So now that Endless Legions takes place at the end of the movement phase, we can ambush the general  next to a grave site for an easy summons. Is that a good tactic or does hot having the general on the table hamper the army?

  7. Allegiance Abilities (from WHLive)

-1 bravery to units within 6” of a Nighthaunt unit

6+ ignore wounds for a unit wholly within 12” of a hero

Half of your units can be in the underworld. Auto arrive, but must arrive by turn 4

10”+ unmodified charge - immediately attack (and can then attack again later)

New Command Ability for General. Remove a unit and set it up within 12” of general / more than 9” from enemy.

  8. If you have spare Hex Wraith weapons I think you could convert one bell and 2 stalkers into reapers (ie using the hex wraith scythes). Plus use some spare skulls from the Skeleton kit or skulls kit to turn the stalker heads into reaper heads.

    That gives you

    12 Stalkers, 1 with drum

    10 Reapers, 1 with Bell.

  9. So my thought is to get two sets of the starter units and the easy build Stalkers. Gives you 8 Reapers (you need 10) and 14 Stalkers (units of 4).

If you can convert 2 Stalkers into Reapers then you’ve got 10 Reapers and a unit of 12 stalkers.
