    You don’t? 😅

    No, I am at about 87%. 😆

    Edit:
    The current numbers are:
There are currently 827 valid warscrolls for AoS. I have models for 706 of them which is 85.4 %.
In addition there are 217 legends warscrolls where your opponent's permission is needed to use them. I have models for 208 of them which is 95.9 %.
So the total is 914 out of 1044 which equals 87.5 %.

Let‘s spice this up shall we?

I spent pretty much all of yesterday to put everything I have into Pile of Potential. I thought: Nah I‘ve got easily below 1000 Models - boy, I was so wrong!

You can have a look at my collection here:

    My Pile of Potential

Post your own collection via PoP below! :)

P.S.: I decided to sell some models/armies, however I can’t decide which yet xD

I added my whole collection into PoP in the past days.

However they don't have a damage stat to reduce, they don't use the regular attack sequence and instead do mortal wounds who are something different than damage.

I don't agree with your answer. Eltharion's special rule Spirit Armour says:

    Quote

Ignore modifiers (positive or negative) when making save rolls for attacks that target this model. In addition, halve the damage inflicted by attacks made with missile weapons or melee weapons that target this model (rounding up).

Mortal wounds definition from the core rules:

    Quote

Some attacks, spells and abilities inflict mortal wounds. Do not make hit, wound or save rolls for mortal wounds. Instead, the damage inflicted on the target is equal to the number of mortal wounds that were suffered.

Finally look at the the Luminark's Searing Beam of Light:

    1. It is an attack with a missile weapon, so it is covered by Spirit Armour. Check.

    2. It inflicts mortal wounds which inflict damage per mortal wounds definition. Check.

So the damage inflicted by the attack of the missile weapon is halved per Eltharion's Spirit Armour (rounding up).

That said, I can't understand why the Bonegrinder Mega-Gargant is not considered a hero? It seems based on the lore that Mega-Gargants are by default considered heroes to their kinfolk. Seems like a very strange and unnecessarily limiting decision.

I think this is because they would have been forced to create a new sub-faction for using the bonegrinder as your general.

Honestly, it was probably nerfed because that is the only mage that you would really run multiples of.

Think about it.  If you bring a sorceress, you get an ok spell and a potential for a +2 bonus to cast.  However, bring a second sorceress, and you get... the exact same thing, and the +2 to cast is going to cost you another model again.

Meanwhile, if you bring a battlemage, you get a spell, and you can get a +1 from a hurricanum.  However, if you bring a second battlemage, you can get another completely different spell, and it isn't costing you anything extra to continue getting your +1 from the hurricanum.  This means that if you are running multiple wizards, it really pays off more to run multiple battlemages over multiple sorceress's.

On top of all of this, you can say that you can always run a stormcast wizard instead.  However, stormcast units come with a tax, you can't just toss another one in.  Yes, the first unit is generally a free-roll, but getting the 2nd stormcast unit starts to get a little costly, and a 3rd one gets really expensive with the number of drops that you will have to run.  This introduces a tradeoff for them as well.

So what you get is a unit that you can benefit from running multiples of going up in points so that they cost a little more to do so.  20 points more for a sorceress generally isn't going to make a significant impact, just because you are going to run 1, maaaaaaybe 2 at most.  20 points more for a battlemage matters though, because you are much more likely to run 2-3 of them.

I discussed the Battlemage's point increase with my fellow players and at first we couldn't imagine a reason for this. But now we think that the only reason could be the new realm rules. At the start of the game you roll a dice and the winner chooses the realm where the battle takes place. As a Cities of Sigmar player you have a 50% chance of winning this roll and thus deciding that the battle takes place in the realm where your Battlemage is from and thus granting him a +1 to cast bonus. So you always have a 50% chance to get the bonus. In my opinion it's still not worth a 20 points increase and I would prefer the Knight-Incanctor over the Battlemage.

I agree to your points, and also made a heap of mistakes as it was about 2am when I made it. No idea why I thought you could increase the damage of mount attacks and apparently for free as well... how about this version, severely toned down.

I still gave it a 4+, because the 5+ GW gave the colossal makes me sad, especially when the manglers get a 4+. It has no Ethereal however, and I kept its points closer to the original. This version is basically a slight step up from a loonboss on mangler squig, a little more damage and survivability, slower, but with a +hit command ability that squig armies struggle to access.

    Screenshot_20200718-081930_Adobe Acrobat.jpg

Your stats are incorrect. The Colossal Maw column in the damage table should be 4, 3, 2, 1, 1. There is no ability selected to increase the maw's damage. There isn't even an option available to do that. Savage frenzy only increases the number of attacks.

  9. On 7/9/2020 at 8:23 PM, Ghoooouls said:

Armour characteristic enhancement caps out at 3+ save so 3+ ethereal is the best, if you want to get a better save you'll need to equip a shield on your hero and that adds 1 to save rolls, so as it is a modifier therefore the ethereal rule ignores it, meaning your save would still be 3+ ethereal even with the shield.

That's wrong, the shield adds +1 to the save characteristic, not to the save roll. So it's possible to have a 2+ save with the shield. Otherwise the shield option would be completely useless.

lorewise, its an abomination......brets dont do cannons....they aren’t particularly fond of dwarves either for that matter

Bretonnia had a lot of cannons until 4th edition WHFB. They were removed in 5th edition (to distinguish them from the Empire I think).

Here are some examples from my collection:

    Bretonnian Organ Gun, released 1990:

Hey everybody, as a lark I figured I'd try using my Bretonnia stuff in games again, but they're just so bad. Power creep has left them far behind and I'm struggling to find any matchup they do well in, so I tried looking for outside sources. Does anyone know of any buff abilities that are used by other models that can affect Bretonnian troops? I remember for a while Chaos had a sorcerer Lord who was able to do that across faction lines, but I can't find anything in order that does this. Despite being part of Grand Alliance: Order it seems like there's not much synergy in this alliance.

Failing that are there any other models that can help support them? I'm talking models like Gotrek that can be taken either as allies or as a part of the force. Are there any mercenaries that give them a noticeable benefit they were lacking? I was thinking of maybe the cannon group, but I haven't used them with Bretonnia before.

If your opponent allows you could just field 50% more points in matched play to have a fair matchup with Bretonnia. So play with 3000 points of Bretonnia against a regular 2000 point army for example.

  12. It's a game mechanic thing. Just think that you just had a single D6 roll instead of two separate to-Hit and to-Wound rolls.

Assuming that there is no 1+ (and thus no 100% chance) you only have 5 different probabilities to succeed:

    • 16.7% for 6+
    • 33.3% for 5+
    • 50.0% for 4+
    • 66.7% for 3+
    • 83.3% for 2+

With two separate rolls there are a lot more different probabilities to display:

    • 2.8% for 6+/6+
    • 5.6% for 6+/5+ or 5+/6+
    • 8.3% for 6+/4+ or 4+/6+
    • 11.1% for 6+/3+, 5+/5+ or 3+/6+
    • 13.9% for 6+/2+ or 2+/6+
    • 16.7% for 5+/4+ or 4+/5+
    • 22.2% for 5+/3+ or 3+/5+
    • 25.0% for 4+/4+
    • 27.8% for 5+/2+ or 2+/5+
    • 33.3% for 4+/3+ or 3+/4+
    • 41.7% for 4+/2+ or 2+/4+
    • 44.4% for 3+/3+
    • 55.6% for 3+/2+ or 2+/3+
    • 69.4% for 2+/2+

And I thought I had a lot at 75,000 total points. That’s amazing. How built/painted is it? I’m nowhere close to having mine entirely done.

For older models, I use either the last known point value that I had down, or what was listed in one of the older Legacy warscrolls, or one of the older GHBs. I also separate Legacy/Retired from the rest of the allegiance.

I am currently at 297k total points now. So multiply your collection by 4 and you get an idea. Almost every model is painted, about 97%.

There is a Youtube video from June 2019 that shows my whole collection at that time (even though it's in German you can still enjoy all the miniatures):

  14. GW once stated that singular or plural keywords are interchangeable. For example they often refer to the HEROES keyword in rules, but no warscroll has that keyword, but only the singular keyword HERO.

So you can use the "Shadow Legion" command ability on the following units:

    BLOODLETTER keyword:

    • Skull Cannons
    • Bloodletters
    • Bloodcrushers

    HORRORS OF TZEENTCH keyword:

    • Pink Horrors of Tzeentch
    • Blue Horrors of Tzeentch
    • Brimstone Horrors of Tzeentch

    PLAGUEBEARER keyword:

    • Plaguebearers
    • Plague Drones
    • Daemon Pox Riders of Nurgle

    DAEMONETTE keyword:

    • Daemonettes
    • Seeker Chariots
    • Seekers

Of course there are a lot of leaders that also have these keywords, but as they are only one model each, you can't bring back slain models. The ability only works on units with more than one model.

  15. This should be a complete list of all valid CHAOS DAEMON units:

  16. I noticed that there is no thread for the new allegiance from Wrath of the Everchosen so I created this one.

The army is an allegiance for all units that share the CHAOS and DAEMON keywords. This includes not only all daemon units from Blades of Khorne, Disciples of Tzeentch, Maggotkin of Nurgle and Hedonites of Slaanesh, but also some Slaves to Darkness and old Warriors of Chaos compendium units and even the Skaven Verminlords.

Here is my Legion of Chaos Ascendant at about 24000 points:

Do you know guys if I can teleport my wizard on balewind vortex across the soulscream bridge?

It's the same mechanism (remove the unit from the battlefield and set it up again) as the Skaven spell Skitterleap and the Skaven FAQ says that he takes the Balewind Vortex with him, so this should also apply here.

Q: Does a Balewind Vortex with a Skaventide Hero atop it travel with the Hero if they use Skitterleap? A: Yes.

For the king on hippogryph I have the old griffon looking creature with a claw up and the king on top. Smallish model. AOS base sizes are saying to me I need a 105x70 base - that is so big in comparison to the model! Is this correct?! Should I just get a more realistic size given the model I've got. I find the stats a bit OP as it is, if I get a small base, I feel that makes this model even more OP in combat.

The correct base size for the King on Hippogryph is a 60 mm round. There is no official document for this, but GW showed it on this base size as the King was available as "Made to Order" in 2018.

Also, can I put the legendary fighter artefact on the griffons beak?! (On the subject of OP)

No, it's not allowed. Command traits and artefacts don't work on a mount.

    Core rules, page 17:

    Quote

Command traits have no effect on attacks made by a general’s mount unless noted otherwise.

Artefacts of power have no effect on attacks made by a hero’s mount unless noted otherwise.

Core Rules Designers’ Commentary, page 10:

    Quote

Q: Can a model’s mount, companion or crew benefit from any artefacts of power that the model has been given?
    A: No.

December 12th 2019:  Games Workshop releases the updated FAQs, Base sizes, and more. What is significant about this? Well, I decided to see if any changes happened to the Bretonnia compendium. But what is this? The Bretonnian compendium, the PDF, is no longer searchable on their main site and can no longer be located with the other Compendiums (Oddly so is Tomb Kings).

I don't get that. It's linked on the rules page as it always was like all other compendium PDF.
