I wonder if you could apply the Doppelganger Cloak to a Hero?

Just to maximise that one glorious turn of ass-kicking, if you can tag a couple of units, and attack first with most of your army.  That would also soften the blow of splitting up your Mournfang into 2s if that's what you end up having to do.

From what realm is the cloak cant seem to find it?

  2. Hey all,

Last tournament I went to the people there laughed a bit at my Ogors/Beastclaw Raiders beause its not often seen in the tournament scene in the Netherlands. Eventhough they did fairly well in the team tournament and people where surprised with the capabilities for the next tournament I want to show that Beastclaw raiders can be a force to be reckoned with.

I know this will be difficult but the tournament scene in the Netherlands is not the most compatitative.

As a list I was thinking about Braggoth's Beast Hammer because this battalion shows of what Beastclaw raiders can do, is very thematic and is fun. So I want to make the best list possible.

Can you help me tweak the list?

Allegiance: Beastclaw Raiders - Mortal Realm: Shyish

    LEADERS

Frostlord on Stonehorn (420) - General - Command Trait : Wild Fury - Artefact : Ethereal Amulet

Huskard on Thundertusk (360) - Chaintrap - Artefact : The Pelt of Charngar

Butcher (140) - Pair of Stump Blades and Great Cauldron - Allies

    UNITS

    4 x Mournfang Pack (320) - Gargant Hackers

    2 x Mournfang Pack (160) - Gargant Hackers

    3 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (140) - Pig-iron Choppas

    3 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (140) - Pig-iron Choppas

    BATTALIONS

    Braggoth's Beast Hammer (230)

    ENDLESS SPELLS

    Chronomantic Cogs (60)

With the Cogs this is a very fast army with a potential 1 turn charge. That is why I added the Cogs and Butcher. The Butcher can also give an extra +1 to hit to the Mournfang which makes them extremely good.

The huskard can heal others and because I think he will be a target for the opponent he has some extra heals.

And the Forstlord, well the potential 2 extra attacks of his spear, non rendable and flying is also a very good combo.

Anyone ever use Ironblasters with BCR?  I'm kit bashing some extra mournfang into Ironblasters.

I wish you could take two Ironblasters as one unit... that would make allies a bit more flexible.

    I'm thinking something like this:

Frostlord on SH (420) with Ethereal Amulet

Huskard on SH (340) with Vulture

Huskard on TT (360) with Vulture

    Mournfang Pack (160)

    Mournfang Pack (160)

    Stonehorn Beastrider (320)

    Ironblaster (120) ALLY

    Ironblaster (120) ALLY

Statistically, taking two should get one to hit each turn.  Ha... but ya know how that goes.

My gaming group is competitive in nature... but also experiments a lot. Plays open war cards, friendly battles, unique bat plans, etc.

Sadly the Ironbalster is not worth its points with only one shot the chance the it misses or only doing 1 damage is just to big.

To bad because the model is so awesome.

all cannons got a huge nerf from 8th to AoS

If he forgot to take one by thinking gores counted he could always swap the huskard for the battleline TT. Would be almost the same list.

Damn I forgot... played alot of 1k games.

I would need to split the mournfang units in 3x2

Or 2x3 Mournfang, which would literally be the same list.

well the list would be a bit less powerfull because the 2 mournfang would not be part of the battalion which means an extra drop and no buffs.

  5. Had my first game with Braggoth's Beast Hammer yesterday and I must say the +1 to hit and the double attack is great.

I completely destroyed my friend in turn one. The Bonesplitterz started the game and moved everything up in a sinlge line (stupid move by him). In my turn with the Chronomantic Cogs I could charge everyting into his complete army and with the battalion ablity to attack twice the game was soon over.

    My list was:

    Frostlord on a stonehorn

    Huskard on a Thunderthusk

    4 Mournfang

    2 Mournfan

    3 Gore-Gruntas

    3 Gore Gruntas

    Butcher

    Chronomantic Cogs

I think beasthammer has a good spot in the metta at the moment.

Easiest way to get reliable to hit buff which both armies need.

    I would build it a touch differently;

    Allegiance: Beastclaw Raiders
    LEADERS
    Frostlord on Stonehorn (420)
    Icebrow Hunter (140)
    - General
    Butcher (140)
    - Allies
    Butcher (140)
    - Allies
    UNITS
    4 x Mournfang Pack (320)
    -Gargant Hackers
    2 x Mournfang Pack (160)
    -Gargant Hackers
    2 x Frost Sabres (40)
    2 x Frost Sabres (40)
    3 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (140)
    3 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (140)
    BATTALIONS
    Braggoth's Beast Hammer (230)
    ENDLESS SPELLS
    Chronomantic Cogs (60)
    Malevolent Maelstrom (20)

I like the felexability of the couple of frost sabres add. You could drop tye spells and wizzards to go heavier on a skall, but i think i preffer the wizards.

    Love the list!!

I am going to try this for my next battle

Thanks guys, really appreciate the excitement.

I have to think a little bit about how and where I placed the colors. Off the top of my head I would say:

    Fur:

    Base: Rhinox Hide

Drybrush wash: Steel legion Drab, Agrax earthshade.

Moving up towards the top: layers of Doombull brown, Skrag brown, skragbrown/screaming skull, reikland flesh shade.

Moving down towards the bottom: Baneblade brown, Karak Stone, Palid Whych flesh, Administratum Grey.

Top furr: Black foundation, -eshin grey, dawnstone, administraum grey (all subtle drybrushes).

Face and skin marks: Skrag brown, and fleshtone mixes. dragging the brush inwards to make lines and create the illusion of texture around the mouth.

Tongue: Pink horror, Emperors childre, my own pink mixes with a expensive cadmium red mixed with titatium white to get a super poppy pink. white highlights.

I hope that helps. Basically its just really working in the colors and working with thin washes and glazes.

    Hello Lysandestolpe,

I really love your Stonehorn the colours are perfect!

I would really like to use this for my own Stonehorn but I am fairly new with painting so I have some questions.

-Whats a drybrush wash? Do I need to waterdown the drybrush paint?

    - you have a lot of layers at you second and third step are these all drybrushes?
