40k never ever ever rocks the boat with any of its releases and the faster people learn that the less disappointed they will be. That's why I came to AoS in the first place.

Ain't that the truth. And you can only stand so many of the damn campaigns, conflicts and whatnot ending in a pyrrhic victory with catastrophic casualties for both sides before you say "****** this" and find a more interesting setting. Like, say, Age of Sigmar.

Edit: apparently, the forum does not allow me to use the word for a certain kind of fastener made out of metal and with a helical ridge.

I don't think that's fair, the post on the Warhammer Community site was a clear hype piece.

Promising that "it's going to be a big one", and inviting the community to "start speculating at just what will be unveiled".

If people got hyped for it, that's because the official preview of the seminar explicitly invited them to do so.

Fair enough. And we received some very interesting previews.

Large-scale releases like brand new and updated armies have previously been preceded by some very specific hype-building videos and whatnot (like DoK and Idoneth) before big events, which we have seen nothing of this time. So I don't quite understand the expectations here.

Im as excited as I am worried about the nova seminar, pumped to see all the new stuff, terrified when I realise how much I might spend when it all comes. The last thing I need is a distraction like moonclan.

I think it is actually kind of unlikely that Moonclan (as a full on updated AoS army) will be shown off at Nova, it would steal too much thunder from the Beasts of Chaos who are not even properly released yet.

But maybe as a Nightvault warband, together with the new troggoth? Seems far more likely to me.

I woudn't be suprised if GW turned the ambush rule up to eleven and going for a endless reinforcement thing as long as unit X is still alive or something.

But that's just wishful thinking of course. What I do expect is some new synergies in the army.

Reinforcements / summoning rules = more models being sold = more money for GW.

So yes, that seems likely indeed.

It's not the release order that was forced to change through leaks but the reveal. With the endless spell shown it's more likly they wanted to build some mystery and hype for Wednesday rather than have a full reveal the following day.

Yup, today's NOVA preview supports that notion.

There was some blurb about "we will finally reveal who that bull-formed endless spell is for" which has now been edited out, it seems.

How did GW think a single Endless Spell would be enough to get AoS players hyped, I can't really understand.

I disagree. Personally, I was delightfully surprised with the mysterious endless spell revealed and want to know more as soon as possible. That's hype enough for me.

What fun is there to be had when all is developing exactly as expected? ?

I heard GW will release a new Destruction faction based on grot scuttlings from Silver Tower this September.

    Could anyone confirm this?

The only inkling of a hint in that direction I know of is a certain grot in Roll Models. Interesting for sure, but not much to build a rumour on.
