It just came to me that the Black Arc Corsairs are now the cheapest Horde-Unit of Order. They dont have a very good warscroll, but you get 40 for just 260 points.
FYI, Skinks are a mere 200 points for 40.

Looking at today's rumor engine, it obvious that the new elf faction will be canister based.
Pringle Aelves?

I really wish they would use xamarian for their apps and put them in the windows store. This way I could run them on a larger screen. So while the citadel paint app sounds cool it just won't be feasible for me as my vision gets worse. Having it on a 27" in screen while I paint would be awesome.
For what it's worth iPhones can broadcast to Apple TVs, and I fully expect that Android phones can do the same with Roku boxes and/or Smart TVs. Where there is demand for something like this, I assure you there's a product that does it...

I'm surprised I haven't seen this here yet:

I'm thinking insect something or other, myself.

The Free Peoples box especially, everyone has Liberators (and most likely a Castellant) as they've been out the longest (and the Libs are in the starter set).
See, you say that, but I can tell you that when I got a box of five real Liberators (which is to say, with all the options instead of the starter kit dudes) it was a revelation. I'd be willing to bet a lot of people find the starter box dudes mildly underwhelming, but give them some grand weapons and that can change in a hurry! I think these releases are a great idea to draw Stormcast players into allied armies or vice versa.

It wasn't made to let people make more thematic armies.
It probably wasn't made to make more competitive armies, either. The allies mechanic was likely made for profit potential.

Really?! It's almost like there is no overall plan? Why not save ALL point adjustments for the annual GHB?
GW introduces points as an annual update (stating upon release of the first GHB that it would be an annual publication). People get excited.
Certain builds show themselves as very strong over the course of the year. People get angry and demand points updates.
GW updates points midyear for certain armies (Khorne, Stormcast) with publication of new battletomes. People get angry and/or excited, depending upon the unit.
Basically, we as gamers are very spoiled. GW, on the other hand, is damned if they do and damned if they don't. Their plan seems to be to update points as they find it necessary. My personal plan is to accept the points updates when they come -- since it is after all just one of three ways to play the game.

Still no further details/pictures/price on special edition of GHB 2017?
"For the truly dedicated, the Warlords Edition of the General’s Handbook is packed with extras that’ll help you with your games. As well as cards for every Battleplan in the book, you’ll be able to get your hands on turn trackers, tokens and more – you’ll be perfectly equipped for a new age of gaming in the Mortal Realms."

My local shop owner indicated a US$75 price tag. I'm probably going to splurge for it.

Ill be interested to see if Kharadrons and Khorne also get points changes. If theyre going to invalidate books ive paid a lot of money for within 6 months id rather they dont put points in there at all and give another page of fluff.
Replacing one page =/= invalidating the whole book. If you bought the physical books just for the points then you've thrown a lot of money away.

Also interesting to point out: spiderfang box content would currently cost in points about 480, so something there is gonna get massive point discount (maybe finally seperate points for spiders without shamen).
The text of the post indicates, and I quote: "Each one of these boxes contains around 400 points worth of miniatures." While this might indicate a decrease in points in one or more units, it doesn't necessarily mean anything of the sort.

To all the people who doubt that the Fyreslayers box won't have a magmadroth... have you guys seen the other boxes?
Every box except possibly one exception has 2 units of troops, a hero, and an elite. That's the format.
I can't see this box not having the magmadroth kit. It would have nothing that looked remotely interesting otherwise, just a bunch of naked dwarves with no centerpiece model.
I mean, one of the boxes has the morghast kit in it? pestilens has a screaming bell, aaannnnd warp lightning cannon? I think we will see the magmadroth kit price drop, and i think it is more than likely we will have a droth in this SCCost of Magmadroth: US$110
Cost of a Start Collecting box: US$85
This is why so many people expect the Magmadroth to be excluded from the Fyreslayers a Start Collecting. As far as I know, all of the existing Start Collecting centerpiece models cost US$85 or less. I know the Seraphon box is basically buying the Carnosaur and getting some Warriors and Knights for free, but I'm not expecting "buy a Magmadroth at a 25% discount and get other units for free."

Yeah I feel kinda dissapointed. appearently NURGLY isn't happening by the look of the WD preview. My last hope is that the end og July will have some new deathguard stuff that will lead to Nurgle daemon release suitiable for AOS and 40K.
I was so sure about this since their was so many signs and rumor engines pointering toward the perfect Nurgle Month. The WD is even released on the 7th..
Could still be Nurgust, I suppose.

So last night I played a battle plan from the Quest for Ghal Maraz campaign book. It was an absolute blast! This leads me to a question that I think belongs in this thread -- when will GW next produce a campaign book?

However it also more or less confirms what I initially thought. Warscroll descriptions cannot be ignored, even if they are not part of your bought army.
Actually, this confirms the opposite. Since the (updated) description on Khul's warscroll indicates that you have to take him leading the Goretide if you're running him and the Goretide, you're already using him in your army. Then it kicks in.
If you're running the Goretide but not including Khul in your army, then you get to ignore the description (which isn't in your army and doesn't affect your choices).
In other words, if Khul is in your army he's going to lead your battalion. If he isn't in your army, he's (obviously) not going to lead your battalion. Wording changed for perfect clarity and simplicity.

I can't seem to find any of the free pdf downloads for any Nurgle Daemons at the moment (where you normally find it on the GW shop page, there's just no link). With the hints at a 40k release just after DI drops this weekend, perhaps a multi-platform Nurgle Daemons re-release?
I dunno, I'm not having any difficulty finding them on the US site. Maybe it's just an error...

Actually, @Liath, I can't speak for any other countries, but here in the US the Start Collecting Daemons of Nurgle is still alive and kicking. https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Start-Collecting-Daemons-of-Nurgle-AoS

The Rumour Thread
in Age of Sigmar Discussions
Posted
If you want a Stormcast or Khorne army as your main fighting force in Age of Sigmar, you'd be hard-pressed to beat the discount on the full starter set. US$125 for 47 models makes a great start to both armies.
Alternatively, if neither army really interests you going forward, you could wait it out (or just pick up a Start Collecting box for the army that interests you, or get something like the Blightwar box as an alternative). There is apparently lots of precedent for a new edition to come with a new starter kit, so it wouldn't be too outlandish to expect one.
