  1. Forgive me if this has already been discussed but my search-fu hasnt turned anything up.

On warhammer weekly it was mentioned that steam tanks lose behemoth if you run them as battleline but i cant find anything that says that. Does anyone have any concrete ruling on the 9 steam tank army?

Question for everyone: Does Ignax's scales protect skalok from mortal wounds or just Vorgaroth?

named characters cant take artifacts... however, in AoS theres no way to differentiate between rider and mount (hence the combined wound profile) so it would protect both

This is kind of a pet peeve of mine.

Spire of Dawn was sold as an Age of Sigmar product. As you mention it yourself it is only 3 years old.  Yes, it is a rebox of Islands of Blood, but my wife wasnt suposed to know that. I wasnt suposed to know that, actually i didnt!

I started AoS specifically because it wasnt WHFB, was something new and was easier for us to grasp.  My models arent suposed to be invalid after 3 years, right? To me it sounds as weired as if the models of any SC were made invalid, because well, it was sold as AoS models! I bought AoS models expecting to play AoS and rulewise they are all over the place.

Dont get me wrong, if Tyrions Army catch my eyes, i will buy it.  I bought into DoK as i said. But it will be a great disapointment if my current AoS guys get tossed into the garbage.

I doubt the contents of spire of dawn will be removed from matched play or anything like that. Yeah, the box was released in late 2010 BUT with the repack for AoS and the fact that all those sculpts were new at the time (going back to the cost of the design and moulds to make them, coupled with the fact that the cost of the set was a freaking steal), I think they still have some life in them (hell, khorne bloodletters were made in 2007 and still kicking).

If your problem with playing is a lack of battle line options (I think you mentioned that), then for the time being I suggest just getting some stormcast liberators for that role and wait it out. I really do think that we'll see tyrion's dudes soon after the slannesh release

I wouldn't expect Tyrion and Malerion aelves soon and when they do arrive I really doubt they will include years old WHFB kits. They probably won't even look like aelves.

Say what? Daughters, maggotkin, legions of nagash, nighthaunt (hexwraiths and spirit hosts), all use kits that are old. I'll lay $20 down that when we get the light aelves the Phoenixes will be in there. I dont think GW has recouped the cost on the moulds and design for them yet. The Phoenix guard might be replaced (like the dwarf slayers were). Same for the skycutter. They were released in 2013 so they are pretty new.

  5. *gazes longingly at his 2 necrosphinxes, and 90 bretonnian knights scattered amongst the detritus of other models with no rules or points*

No idea what you're talking about.

In all seriousness though it does suck and I would definitely ask your local players about using your models as "counts as", but with slannesh coming out, this is the logical year to see the rest of the aelves show up.

I see myself taking the totem of the spider god on my A'rock to buff the main body of the army and start the moon on my opponents side of the board to rain mortals and buff my Skitterstrands.

Pretty much. That and the helm of many eyes are the best choices. I just can't help but feel like the spiders were just bolted on to an otherwise moonclan book, at first glance it seems like they get all the cool toys.

May i ask what the spider cost, and if we got some new point prices?

    Shamans on arachnarok are 300

Boss on giant spider is 100

    Spider riders are 100 for 5. 540 for 30

    Ambush arachnarok is 260

    Arachnarok with flinger is 270

Arachnarok with war party is 250

    Shaman on foot is 80

    Battalions are 100-120

Is a Lord of Chaos any good? I like the idea of him becoming a daemon prince, he'll at least make 2 blood tithes if he dies twice. He just seems expensive?

140 isn't *too* bad. I like the once per game 2d6 damage attack, could be useful in spiking down a key support hero but his mobility would be an issue. Personally I'd probably go with an actual demon prince for the extra 20 if I needed a beat stick.

So as a pretty noob khorne player how do I cut down my best friends seraphon army now that I can't just buff a murder ball to ignore his 2+ re-rollable saves that ignore rend of 1?

Slaughterpriests blood boil ability will deal straight mortals which melt saurus guard (or the eternity warden that's giving them +1 attack and +2 to their save).

The guard wont be moving so they can supercharge their polearms (I'm assuming your opponent is running the eternal star host since that's the only way to get a 2+ save on them without terrain) and that makes them the perfect target for blood/skullcrusher's mortal wounds on charge abilities.

Skull cannons can also reach out and snipe the eternity warden that's buffing the guard as well, they aren't the best tool in the box but they can get the job done (they'd be a lot better if they got buffed by the bloodsecrator, but alas,  melee weapons only).

Skullreapers mortal wounds ability can still be buffed by killing frenzy so that's an option

Bloodthirster of insensate rage with ghyrestrike fishing for mortals will do solid work as well and with rend 2 he'll bypass their shields

Lord on juggernaut with gorecleaver does the same job as the bloodthirster at a lower price tag

  10. I apologize (or apologise depending on your home nation) for the stupid question but i cant find any answer to it at all. When i use murderlust from the bloodtithe to move a dude, can i make a run roll with it? What im looking at is this: turn 1 i use the blood sacrifice prayer from 3 priests and get 3 bloodtithe. I then use that to move my bloodsecrator into a better position before dropping his banner. However,  4" isnt a whole lot for 3 bloodtithe so im hoping i can make a run roll with him.

Going so far forward means if I plant my Bloodsecrator 1st turn my guys will probably be out of his bubble since I don’t rely on Gore Pilgrims. I’ve tested Brass Stampede and I love it - I just need a consistent follow up answer after the Alpha Strike because I don’t think MSK have what it takes to carry a whole game themselves.

Bring a second bloodsecrator and leapfrog them. One plants the banner, the other runs forward to plant the banner next turn.
